Food was okay but a bit overpriced for what it was. Lovely building but felt like we were having our meal in a busy bar rather than a restaurant.

Standard trendy bar. Nice enough, situated in an old church. Friendly staff. Excellent food.

I actually didn’t find it that expensive?! After quite a few horrendous meals while in Cornwall —(I haven’t had so many bad ones in a row before). We opted to try Truro — having a cathedral we thought it likely it was the biggest place around and hence might have somewhere reliable and generic to eat. We didn’t find anything generic(it’s actually quite small!) but we did find the one eyed cat and it was really nice. Nice staff, good food, tasty cocktails, relaxed atmosphere. If I was in the area again I’d go back. I had the warm chicken salad, my boyfriend had the spatchcock chicken — which was VERY hot — but he enjoyed it.

The One eyed Cat in truro is across from Burger king and appears to be in a converted chapel, its a bar downstairs and a restaurant upstairs but they cross over. The first thing that greats you are the staff who are all genuinly friendly and one of the reasons we always go back, the décor is very modern and a little quirky with great lighting and seating booths. The drinks are great with Asahi and other oriental beers on tap along with lovely hot chocolate. It is pricey which is probably why we’ve never eaten there(aloing with a mostly seafood menu) but they have recently been offering some really good value lunchtime deals to get more trade in, so we’ll probably be back there soon. Another of those places where it really is worth paying that bit extra to get away from usual crowds and atmosphere.
