I understand that quite a lot of people in Walton have money to burn but spending it in this pub takes it to a whole new level. Shoddy service, shocking food and prices that are way to high. I have given this review after 3 visits the first visit was ok after a burns night. The second two visits where a Sunday dinner and a mid week visit. The Sunday dinner took an hour and a half and was poor at best! In the mid week visit we got served quicker however the food was terrible. Could be a great place but the management and staff need to improve 10 fold!

Just had a gorgeous roast dinner here on a busy sunny Sunday afternoon. We didn’t book but headed on down there and got seated wherever we wanted the full restaurant area was already booked up but we chose to sit outside in their lovely outdoor area overlooking the river. When the sun went in(its England after all!) we told them it was a little too cold to be outside and was starting to rain and so they re-sat us just in time for our food to arrive(early I may add as they told us that there would be a 20 minute wait on food) and the food was delicious! Great succulent meat, great veg and the best gravy I’ve ever had. All in all, a great success, beautiful pub, gorgeous food, delightful friendly staff and we WILL be going back here again!

Great pub on the Thames with above average food… located in a fairly mellow London suburb, the patio is a great place to grab a pint after work. This was a great place to watch the World Cup. The lunch /dinner menu is fairly limited with changing specials. I enjoyed the salad topped with grilled chicken… simple, high quality ingredients. Their fries were also good(hot, good portion, and nice flatware). The hamburger is also above average. Since I was staying at a nearby hotel, The Swan became a good dinner option in sleepy Staines, UK.

Ideal for a laid back Sunday lunch, especially if the weather is good as the large garden and patio area overlooks the river. Food is good pub grub including a separate BBQ menu. If you’re hungry you can’t go far wrong with the whole chicken salad and chips.

Really nice pub with outdoor seating along the Thames. Last time I was there a few weeks ago, they had on a BBQ(a regular feature in the summer). It’s a really nice pub, can’t really fault it, but can’t quite give it 5 as I have had nicer food. For the BBQ, I had cajun chicken which was very chickeny, not very canjuny which was a shame. The biggest sellers for the pub are the atmosphere, the outdoor seating and the location. Get there early if you need to park.

Food has really improved here with new landlords taking over who used to run Ye Old Swan in Thames Ditton. Daily specials on a blackboard and a new Autumn menu just released with some very interesting sounding dishes, alongside the usual staple pub food favourites. Beers very well kept, with the occasional non Youngs special as well, given that this is a Youngs pub. Unfortunately the Summer BBQ has now finished, but that is great during the summer with proper home made burgers and other typical BBQ fare.

Perhaps it was an off night, but I didn’t enjoy my recent visit to the Swan. The wine and beer were fine, and at average prices. But the food was very dissapointing, the menu was not quite wide enough, and the Platter I had was not of the best quality. I feel it’s trying to be Gastro’ but not quite getting there. Coupled with some fairly loud customers, who almost had a fight between themselves., we moved on. Having said that it is a great location by the river I may try again.

The Swan at the small town of Walton on Thames is a large, classical English pub with traditional features such as low, uneven ceilings and two open fireplaces. Inside has seperate public, main and snug bars plus a family room, foyer and lobby. Outside there is a huge beer garden with seating for 300 to 400 people which leads down to the river. Everyone round here seems to own or live on a boat! Food is served from a main menu, daily Specials board and sandwich menu. Everythink is freshly prepared and cooked to order with the exeption of the Young‘s steak & ale pies with are delivered in fresh. During the summer month you can enjoy your meal al fresco, weather permitting and also barbecues. There is a excellent range of wines to complement your food or several real ales if preferred. Very popular is the«Charles Well Bobodier«real ale. Once home to Jerome Kern the famed songwriter this trouble free, family friendly pub has a happy atmosphere and attracts people of all ages from young familie to the elderly
