The Spread Eagle is a traditional, friendly pub in central Ware. It serves up a decent pint of McMullen’s AK. I didn’t see any sign of food service, so I think that you are stuck with crisps or the charity sweets (half the cost goes to a good cause) on that score.
Apparently this is one of only a couple of local pubs which are not signed up to a local ‘barred from one, barred from all’ system. This might make it a bit of a weirdo magnet, and there was one present in fine form talking to herself and to us. Bit sad really :(
