The Old Bull’s Head

A friendly local’s pub, let down a little in my eyes by a boring ale selection. You could do a lot worse though and the juke box (most of the timeit kind of depends who has control) and garden area are both plusses.

The Old Bull’s Head is a formerly dodgy pub that the brand new owners have worked hard to clean up and build a new image. So far they have done an excellent job. The pub is comfortable and welcoming and the owners are fantastic. They have made an effort to come to our table to have a chat every single time I’ve been in there.
There is a lovely menu featuring Sunday roasts, ham and eggs, all-​day breakfast and burgers. The chips are perfect! Some of the best I’ve had in the UK. But the crowning glory is the price. Last week my family went here for dinner – eight of us total – and the grand price was £39.40. That includes a meal for each of us and several starters. It felt like we were robbing them!
