Was pleasantly surprised by the meal we had here. I was expecting something more casual, but it was more elegant. We were given a small appetizer while we looked at the menu, which is a nice touch. They have a specials board and we ordered from that and it was very good. The waitress was attentive and explained the food items well. Glad we tried this place.

Very good seafood!!! This unassuming casual restaurant in Windermere is a legit place that serves truly gourmet dishes! Forget the discounted prix-​fixe meal and please do splurge on their delicious seafood! Even though a la carte seafood entrée may cost almost the same amount as the 3 course prix-​fixe, you will understand why this place was awarded with a Michelin star once you taste the awesome flavor of the haddock & scallop served with super scrumptious sauce! Yum! From amuses-​bouche to dessert, everything was well executed and satisfying. Highly recommended!

I’ve been to Francine’s many times and never had a less than excellent meal! Great menu often with local produce and very reasonable prices for such fine food. Pleasant surroundings and situated in the heart of the village — not to be missed. Advisable to book as is always popular!

Excellent value for the money.
For a French restaurant with mains £10−20 & wine @ the same this place is great, bearing in mind you get what you pay for. We had garlic bread which was every tasty but came @ the same time as our starters of an over cooked venison liver & a delectable game terrine. Out mains of roast pheasant was & leek/​courgette souflee were well prepared with tender veggies on the side. The accompanieing wine was fyoung & aver-​chilled, so it needed to bathe longer than I would have liked before we could start drinking it. A solid choice for dining.
