My first time trying Royce yesterday,., the chocolate was good, the service was better. The sales girl put up with my indecisiveness marvelously. Hahaha. I always have trouble shopping after getting off work, it’s as if my brain refuses to make decisions outside of work. Anyway!!! They give samples, and once you try the samples you will honestly CRAVE the chocolate. So yes, don’t try if you don’t want to end up buying a bunch. My friend was preaching about the beauty of their chocolate coated potato chips, so do try that. I haven’t. But you should. Also, we tested their green tea chocolate squares, it was intensely sweet, so go for that if that’s what makes your chocolate brain go «wooohooooo”~ For us we prefer dark chocolate, so my friend and I basically died over their dark chocolate discs. Yes. Discs. Pretty delicate. In the end I bought a box of bitter & sweet disks, and a box of Berry chocolate squares. Shall return for moreeeeeeeeeee, but these were for gifts so I stuck with the less radical flavors. :)

Royce Chocolate is the most enjoyable chocolate on this planet. Thank you Japan, thank you Sapphoro for inventing the techniques to produce this chocolate and thank you Takashimaya for bringing this divine delight to Singapore for me… and others. Royce are to be kept cool and eating straight from the fridge. That’s when the texture is the best. The chocolate is not cold, but really creamy and melts on your tongue. It’s not bitter, just intensely deep flavored and smooth. My favorite is the champagne and dark chocolate. But the staff is very friendly and you can try all flavors before buying, true japanese style. If you don’t buy anything it’s also okay and they will still smile at you, but you can’t taste it and not buy anything, just not possible to stop eating Royce nomnomnom

Royce sells amazing chocolates. They have different flavors like the usual dark, milk and white as well as others. What makes Royce so unique is that it is served cold and is super smooth and melts in your mouth. If you are looking to buy the chocolates, they will pack it for you along with dry ice so that it will not melt. Also great if you want to bring it overseas on a plane ride. They will defiintely last. As well as their chocolates, they also have other treats like chocolate covered marshmallows and cookies. A must try is the chocolate covered potato chips. Yes you read right! Chocolate covered potato chips! It sounds wierd at first but once you have had a bite you will understand why they are so popular. Its crunchy, sweet, salty and chocolatey. A really great treat!

Royce chocolates originated from Sapporo in Japan, and their nama chocolates are among the best I have ever eaten. Nama chocolates are freshly prepared dark chocolate pieces of heaven, and, upon purchasing, are presented to you in a very nicely packaged bag. Upon opening it, you’ll realise that there’s a small block of dry ice in the bag so as to prevent the chocolates from melting as the chocolates need to be kept at a temperature below 10 degrees. The dry ice will keep it cool for a few hours, by which time you’ll either have finished the entire box, or you’ll have managed to get home and put it in the freezer. If you’re still stuck far from a source of cold when the dry ice runs out, just eat the whole box. It’s pure bliss, and it’ll be a waste to let it melt into a gloopy mess. And the price for a box of these delightful concoctions? $ 15. Much cheaper and far superior to Godiva or Neuhaus. Do note that nama chocolates contain alcohol and are not suitable for offering to your Muslim friends. Another fascinating creation by Royce is the chocolate potato chip. Salty ridged potato chips covered with chocolate — but on one side only. I’m not sure how they managed that, and it’s certainly an interesting take on flavours! A box of these is pretty affordable at $ 14.90 and also has to be kept cold. Of course, given their unique storage conditions, this means that Royce chocolates can’t be stockpiled, and also means I won’t be able to bring a box or several back to London with me as gifts for friends. Oh well… more for me then!
