At first I really liked this place. Decently priced food that tasted pretty decent. Great atmosphere to watch a game. But every time we went there seemed to get worse in food and in service. Then the very last time. shutter. Awful. I will probably will never go back. To make a long story short I was served food that was clearly sitting under a heat lamp for a decade. Just super turned off.

Used to be such a nice place, much more dour since the reopening. The crowd seems to have shifted as well with my last visit there an almost hostile experience. The food was so-so and service marginal. Unlikely to return despite being the closest pub in my neighbourhood.

We used to go here for lunch a lot because it was close to work. Their service is normally great but it was awful today. There were literally seven people there and three tables. The server kept disappearing into the kitchen and we had to wait way longer than normal for everything. We avoid this place on the last Friday of every month because they have lingerie clad woman running around. I’m not a prude but apparently just being a girl in that place on those days means that dirty old men are entitled to stare at you until you’re awkward enough to leave. I lasted less than five minutes before I got up and left thanks to the creeps who kept looking me up and down and I was in business attire and had an athletic guy with me. I can only imagine what the poor servers have to put up with on those days. I won’t say that I’ll never come here again but I’m not a fan of places that make me feel uncomfortable and their food and prices are not outstanding like they used to be.

A small neighbourhood pub with character! What to expect: Has a small pub feel, is not really up to date in style or flare, but what it lacks in contemporary design and décor it makes up for it in other ways. For example, they have a great food specials every day and everything else is reasonably priced. The food is your standard pub fare, but tastes much better than average; definitely worth the cost! Like sports? This place had enough TVs to satisfy every sports fan— the place has flat screens everywhere! I live in the area and like that i have a decent bar that is within walking distance. The patrons range in ages. Whenever a go I always see some middle-aged and seniors around the bar enjoying beers and socializing. I do tend to see young adults as well — its quite a nice mix of young and young at heart.

This is the only pub within walking distance to my place and if it ever were to close again I would cry. I’ve eaten here a few times and haven’t been disappointed. Tonight there was one waitress and most the tables were full and she did a great job looking after everyone.

So this place looks like it’s open again after being closed for a while(the previous owners went bankrupt). Haven’t tried the new menu, but the beer tastes like beer, which is good.

This business has gone bankrupt and is now closed. Information gained from sign on front door.

This place gets busy when there is UFC on. They bring out plastic tables and folding chairs. I only come here because it’s close by. You can smell the urine in the carpets here. The food is best to be avoided unless you want an authentic dive bar experience.

I’ve been here of and on for years as it is a few blocks away from my hair dressers. Good pub to get a quick bite to eat. Reasonable prices. The food is not off the wall, however, you get what you pay for and the meals come out fast with a smile. It’s a good greasy spoon place when you have that craving. It’s the pub of the White Caps which is a huge plus for me.

I came here for the first time last week with a group of friends. We got served pretty fast and they had some good deals on, but the food I had was not the best. I ordered their mini chicken sliders and they were greasier than McDonalds. The bottom of the burger was dripping in oil. I also had a bite of my friends perogies and they were not very tasteful(I am Ukrainian — I know my perogies). The drinks were pretty good. That is about all I would come back for.

This bar is home of the Southsiders, the official supporters group for the Vancouver Whitecaps. One of the supporters brought us to this bar after the Houston Dynamo game, and we had a blast. The long island iced teas were reasonably priced(about CAN$ 7), and they tasted decently. I didn’t have any food, so I can’t really comment about that(just had long islands). Service, despite the crowd, was pretty good too. The bar is completely packed after a game(wasn’t there before the game), so if you are going there, make sure you head there quickly. The best part of this bar are the Southsiders. Typically I do not mingle with opposing supporters groups(in fact, this was my first time, and I travel a lot to away games), but the Southsiders were too convincing. Their hospitality and welcoming manner was surprisingly pleasant, an appreciated gesture for someone who traveled a long way!

This is a great place to eat and watch the game, UFC and drink. Their daily specials are good and the food is reasonably priced. I don’t come here much for their karaōke nights which I believe are now Fridays but it’s great to be here to watch any UFC or Sports. On Saturdays you can get a very decent prime rib dinner for about $ 12.00. Their menu has improved a lot over the last year.

The perfect, practically only spot for Whitecaps and Lions pre-game drinks. Draws for prizes and good food. But on game days you have to be there well before the kick-off or you’ll be standing waiting at the door.

What’s up with this rats nest. I gave it a chance when I first moved in to the neighbourhood but it’s horrible. The food is inedible. I was poured a rye and coke with 2 cubes of ice. The staff is rude and seem to think they are better than you. Hey. You’re an oscars waitress. Get over yourself. Just another disappointment on this barren strip of commercial real estate. The locals deserve better.

Say what you will about Oscar’s Pub, but I love this place. I have lived in the area for almost three years now and Oscar’s is certainly one of my favorite places for cheap eats. They changed management a while ago and the food is noticeably better since then. I usually go in for the giant lumberjack breakfast when I’m hungover. For about $ 10 dollars, you get bacon, sausage(the good kind, not that gross over cooked bs), ham, eggs of your choice, toast, and the best real potato hash browns I have ever stuffed my face with. It’s a big serving and I usually have trouble finishing the whole thing. The rest of their food is pretty decent and they have cheap specials every day off the week. The $ 2.99 deluxe burger on Tuesdays and Sundays is worthwhile. Other people complain about the food, but I have yet to be disappointed. Aside from the food, the drinks are good and they have great specials every day. The staff is very friendly, and the pub itself isn’t too bad. The only thing is that it IS a sports bar, so if you happen to stop in while there’s any kind of game going on it can get pretty loud and obnoxious in there.

I came back for a veggie burger and some beer with my roomie last night. I had a gift certificate I needed to use before the expiry date! Coming on a Monday was a bad idea. I knew they normally have a lot of sports playing on the TVs but I didn’t realize how crazy they get over Monday Night Football. It was pretty packed compared to how busy it normally is(n’t) and there was no music playing. The TVs were all turned on full blast, SOLOUD, and at some points I couldn’t even hear my roomie talking to me across the table. They didn’t turn the volume down during the commercials either, and I found this pretty odd. Nobody else in the pub even looked up but we were pretty weirded out. My fault, I guess. Any other night I’m sure it would have been fine. That out of the way — on to the drinks/food! Pitchers of Granville Island Lager were on special for $ 12 so we grabbed one of those, and I ordered my veggie burger with fries.(roomie had eaten already, just came for beer!) I don’t know what happened, but the fries were a little dry. I think they’d been sitting out for awhile. Still tasted good though. My veggie burger was a tad overcooked but again, it was still delicious. I’m not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but instead of two thin tomato slices, I got two halves of a smaller tomato. The skin was wrinkly and it seemed old, so I picked it off. Not impressed. I’ll still be back. I’m curious to check out the Sunday Night Karaōke.

I am super impressed with this establishment. The previous food indulgence here left me never wanting another Oscar’s burger with buns of steel(literally) but after surprisingly hearing back from Oscar’s about it, I’ve changed my burger standoff-ishness preference.(I’ll try another soon) On top of that, I happily almost drooled over the fab fries I recently devoured(don’t tell anyone k?) :) Sometimes the ambient temperature tends to be on the cold side regrdless to street temperature(I was told staff cannot change it?) So wear a sweater or bring one. As I live only a hop, skip and a jump away(or thereabouts) with all that you offer, my boyfriend and I have become sunday evening karaōke regulars. Thank you oh so much

I’m still a fan, however their prices have gone up! Noooo! Burger deals are now $ 3.99(still a good deal if you think about it) with fries. And wings went up to $ 0.39, I think, on Mondays and Wednesdays. Sad. But I didn’t expect them to actually last that long with deals like that. But, the reason we still love this place after our games is we are treated super well by the staff. And after only coming a few times, we were comped a jug of beer, just because. See, that’s how you get loyal customers! We’ve spent countless hours and lots of money at other bars and pubs around town, and even though they remembered us, we never got deals. If you want to keep people coming back time and again, reward your loyal customers once in a while. Makes a huge difference.
