My cousin and his wife just visited Barcelona a few months ago and gave this place their highest recommendation — and I’m not disappointed. Located in the main wet market, around 5pm there is a wait at the large bar-style eatery. The place was just jumping, man the vibe was incredible — the staff was preparing food with precision and high energy. Took us a while to get seated, but the grilled prawns, squid, mussels and clams were so good, just perfect, really. They even comped us some fried potatoes with the spicy mayo sauce. Awesome staff and service. So why not 5 stars? Prices are higher than usual, maybe it’s because the seafood is ultra-fresh?

The miracle of miracles — good meal and friendly service that did not take 3 hours! And that is with three of the six meals ordered being paella. Off to the side of the farmer’s market bordering La Rambla, this little place offers a quick opportunity to sample various types of Paella and people-watch(we tried Fish, sausage and meat varieties — all good, not overly oily or salty). White Sangria tasted refreshing after a whole hot day of Barcelona exploration). This is not a fancy place, but trendy and fun with paella pans of every shape and size lining not only the walls, but ceiling as well.

This place is BUSY ! It’s a open market with a few more eateries, we look for the busiest one, We figured they must be good. It’s amazing how simple everything is cooked with very little seasoning and tastes so good. As usual we had a little of everything, sardines, razor clamps, grilled pork, salmon, potatoes, mussels, squid, everything was very flavorful and good ! Everyone enjoyed there food. Very fast service and friendly.

We visited the boqueria market hall and it was great. Then we wanted to eat something and there are several place were you can get drinks, some snacks at the desks and also bars like these were you can sit down. But this was a tourist gap! Do not go there. You wait several minutes to get a seat then half of the menu is not available and it takes a long time you get the food. And it is overpriced and does not taste good. Missing salt etc. and the staff is not polite and treats you like an idiot. Then you have to wait for the bill. Go to the other market desks and pick something on the run. Do not chose those were you can sit down. We payed 30 eur for Greek salad, chorizo, anchovis(5 pieces!) and saussage with two 100ml white wine. If you want tapas go to the city e. g

DON’T GO! Huge tourist trap. The food was greasy and overpriced. The service was horrible. Waited almost 45 minutes to get served and another 30 to get the waiter’s attention for the bill. This experience ruined our first day in Barcelona. Honestly just walk around the rest of the market and save yourself from this.

A faire

I’m not sure about the prices, anything away from the tourist spots are usually always cheaper, obviously. This place is indeed pricey, but the food is spectacular. I was in Barca, I love seafood, and the mixed seafood platter was awesome. You get Razor Clams, Clams, Small octupii, Squid, Sardine, Cockles, a huge prawn and scallops, prepared on the grill and doused with a green sauce, which is very tasty. I also had the mixed veggie platter and a beer… they didnt even charge me for the veggies or the beer, so it was great.

A visiter ABSOLUMENT !

Awesome. In La Boqueria, towards the left back, is this gem. We grabbed two stools at the counter surrounded by some Barcelona biker gang who knew the a waiter. Ordered two beers, cod fritters, eggplant tortilla, and mussels. The mussels were fantastic, as was the rest of the food — and ambience. We should have ordered the mixed seafood instead of just the mussels, but this was one of the best meals I had in Barcelona.

Late review. Just another tour trap and overpriced food. don’t waste your time. Fine the local spots by asking the locals.

In this huge market people will tell you there idea of what a good tapas bar is, but in the middle of the market you can really look, see, smell and salivate over this awesome stall. This place is not a great place because service is spotty at best, what they make up is in the navajes(razor clams), and the gambas(ginormous shrimp). we ordered patatas bravas, piementon padron peppers, insalada rusa, navajes, gambas, morcilla, boquerones, and chipirones. Here are the hits! if I had to recommend some plates I would definitely recommend the mixed platter which will include the gamabas, navajes, and the chipirones(prepared on la plancha, and not fried), with cockles as well. Well worth the 27 Euros. everything was good and because you were here in the market you know everything was fresh. The one thing that really stood out for me was the morcilla. Of all things the texture between the pork and the onions with also sauteed onions on the outside really stood out for me. I would like to have ordered about 2 more orders but once again, my wife was giving me the evil eye(sorry babe but you were!). Again service is spotty so order everything in one shot to ensure that you don’t have to flag these rather unpleasant servers. I love the fact that you build an appetite going through the market and you take out your unrelinquishing appetite on this spot located in the back, on the right side in front of the vegeterain joint that says«organic is orgasmic» Thought that was funny considering that I thought the food I was eating was orgasmic as well. Definitely give this joint a chance and I think that you will find that it is well worth hunting down a seat and hovering over exsisting patrons to belly up to the bar. Cheers and Happy eats!

Just had to visit this terribly touristy market and grab a bite to eat at the bar made famous through many visits from various British TV chefs Went off season and relatively late by market standards so missed the major crowds and got a seat straight away. Perfect place to watch the hustle and bustle of the market(not to mention keeping a close on eye on your wallets, bags and contents of pockets) although I’m pretty sure there were more of us tourists than locals the prices definitely were hiked vs other bars and cafes I visited in the lesser known areas. The grilled sausage and the Pintxos Anchoas Rellenas de Pimientos were tasty but a bit greasy, I really don’t get the hype about Goose Barnacles(tried them three times, three different ways, three different restaurants -, meh, so what) HOWEVER any negative points were blown away by the amazing Pulpo tapas. Totally fresh and grilled with a touch of paprika, garlic and salt Fabulous! As much of a must visit as Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell(but a lot tastier)
