I had the bravas and mini tapas size paella with some cava. On a Saturday, it was very busy, they are fully staffed and any more staff they would be stepping on each other. Very quick service considering how busy they are. Downstairs bar, watch the chef’s, I presume more dining upstairs. I sat at the bar, it took them a good 5min to help me bit they are fast at bringing dishes out! Great food, busy atmosphere

I came here specifically for the fried artichokes. UNFORTUNATELYTHEYDON’t MAKETHEMANYMORE! We had patatas bravas and they were very good even better without the alioli dressing(I got that on the side and almost did not touch it). I will go back and try different dishes. the ambiance and the location are great!

The food here is definitely fresh and of great quality. Location is great right off La Rambla and next to the market. Seating is sparse inside but abundant outside so your typical Europa restaurant. And several of the wait staff speak excellent English. Eats: Patatas Bravas Mariscado para Dos Would definitely be back next time Mo and me are in Barca.

Casa Guinart is a great little tapas bar; located directly behind the Mercado de La Boqueria. My husband, sister, and I arrived around 4:30 pm and immediately found three stools at the bar. The bar overlooks the open kitchen area so you can watch the chefs prepare your food. We ordered several glasses of red wine as well as the marinated olives, jamon iberico(cured ham from an acorn fed, black hoofed Iberian pig), and fried padron peppers. Everything was so delicious! The tapas were all made to order and contained high quality ingredients. I would have ordered more from the menu, but we had dinner plans at 7 pm and I didn’t want to spoil my appetite. We finished our meal with espressos and a plate of assorted cookies and truffles. Would definitely add this spot if you are looking for great tapas in Barcelona!

Its right off the ramblas. Its small so you could miss it easily. Its next to the St. Josep market so that should help you find it. Obviously we had tapas. We ordered just about everything and it was all very good. Oysters were fresh. The pan con tomate, jamon pata negra and the tenderloin with french fries were very good. We also sample ham and cod croquettes. The scrambled eggs and ham were also very good. The service was good and so was the house wine. We sat in the back alley which wasnt the most picturesque place to sit but it was a cool night so that helped. Overall you cant go wrong and everything was priced well.

I came to eat here 3 times and rarely go back to the same restaurant when I’m travelling. The food here is fresh and delicious. You can accompany it with a glass of wine or cold Estrella. My favorite dishes are the grilled shrimp, gazpacho, machego, and gnocchi. The shrimps come out grilled and whole and incredibly fresh. The Gnocchi are fluffy heavenly pillows that melt in your mouth. I’m going to miss this place.

I really couldn’t say much bad about Cassa Guinart. We stopped in here because we didn’t get our fill at the market. The wine was good and each tapa had it’s own unique taste. Some of the highlights were the thinly sliced artichoke hearts and the wild mushrooms. The staff was also very helpful even in English and did everything with a smile. Even though it was a little pricy, it was in the tourist area so you have to expect that.

If you’re lucky enough to stumble into the place as I did, consider yourself one lucky duck. Around 10am I walk by and see someone with a croissant and an espresso sitting on front of the place. Coffee and croissant looked good so I went in and ordered what she had. Well? Guess what came out instead(see pix). So of course, if THAT is their croissant I am ALL in. See all my pix an jus sit down, get a glass of what wine and enjoy what this place had to offer. Last time I had food this good was at Spago’s.

I found this place right as we were entering La Boqueria. We sat ourselves at the counter where we were able to watch the chefs at work. The server took a while to bring us our menus but the food came out rather quickly after we ordered. We had the cured meats with manchengo cheese, the brava patatas, and their special of the day which was seared scallops. The potatoes were good and had an interesting spice to them which we couldn’t figure out. They were topped with an aioli froth which made the dish extra yummy. The scallops were cooked perfectly and were served over a delicious purée of what seemed to be cauliflower. The wines we had were very good. Overall, it was a decent place for our first tapas experience in Barcelona but I am certain we will find better and cheaper spots. Service could’ve been a little better but their food made up for it.

Casa Guinart was a fantastic place for tapas and dinner. The servers are friendly and quick. I recommend the bravas potatoes and the mini burgers, which are the house specialty. We loved it so much that we went twice!

I will remember this meal for years! Watching the chefs work was like watching an episode of Top Chef Masters, and everything I saw come out of the kitchen was a masterpiece. I enjoyed the ham croquettes, cured beef with manchego, artichoke crisps, and espuma de catalan. I’d order it all again and again. Que delicioso!

The wild mushrooms stew was a sumptuous dish. It’s not really a stew, more like a sautee dish, but the variety of mushrooms is like a beautiful symphony on your tongue. The oxtail dish is also delicious! The cod tapa was also very good. I would definitely head back there again.

Really good tapas, been for tapas a few times now and I’d say this is the best and they charge accordingly. Spent € 43 on one small beer, one medium beer, 3 oysters, potatoes with aioli foam, olives, bread with tomato, tapaella, and cured meat with cheese, and a Catalonia crème brule. All very delicious, but not a lot of food for the price. However it’s right on la rambla, so the price is to be expected. Would go back.

Excellent food, amazing tapas(although a bit pricey). Location’s great(at Las Ramblas, next to the Boqueria Market). The restaurant is a bit small, so try to avoid lunch rush hours.

I happened on this tapas bar as I strolled Ramblas, and the whole ambience drew me to it. The outdoor café tables, the interior, the beautiful design — all were attractive. But the food here is extraordinary and unique. In a city where it is easy to find tapas of the same kind on every corner, Casa Guinart stands out for its more healthy and contemporary versions of Catalan cuisine. Yes, they have croquettes, but it is the specials of the day and the other offerings that stand out to me. The scallops in sautéed scallions and black sausage pieces was delectable, and the grilled asparagus topped with baked goat cheese was simply the one best tapas I experienced in Barcelona. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it to have a memorable food experience in this city.

This place is so Barcelona. And located inside the market in La Rambla. Had a beer and a pincho. What can be better. I had some small bits, bread, olives. And the tomato bread. The tomato bread was incredible. I think it’s the best I’ve ever had. You can see the cooks and everything that is going on. I love that. Ingredients are super fresh!

Still walking around marcado, we really wanted to get some jamon. There are lots of different places in this area that serve tapas so it was a challenge to pick a place. After walking around in circles, this place caught our attention so decided to give it a try. We only tried jamon, iberico selection, wine, and the bread with tomato. For CINCOJOTAS jamon alone, this place deserves a 5! Thinly sliced, melts in your mouth like butter, not overly salty or seasoned. Not like pork jerky(which some jamon I have tasted felt like…) delicious! (BUT!!! I don’t think this is the only place that serves cinco jotas — i believe it’s more of a brand that is served at high end places so didn’t want to give this place all the credit.) Their bread with the tomato was one of the better ones I have tasted. They used decent amount of salt and i think it was tomato purée not whole tomato. The iberico selection … my suggestion. skip. just order the full plate of the cinco jotas that the employee is manually slicing ever so carefully in the middle of this tiny establishment. Wine was solid, they have menus in MULTIPLE languages… Oh… jamon. I think we’re hooked.

Wow, I’m really shocked that 1) there’s only one other review of this place, and 2) that it’s such a bad one, considering that our experience was so good! They’re located right near the entrance to the La Boqueria Market and we were told they get their ingredients fresh daily from there. Our waiter was super friendly, helping us decide on dishes and always checking back to make sure our food was to our liking. We had the paella, a mushroom dish [delish!], patatas fritas [ordered this twice!] and a bean and bacon dish cooked in olive oil that was uh-mazing! Oh, and their version of the tinto de verano [a popular summer drink in Spain] was so good we almost went back just for that! We’ll definitely be returning for a meal the next time we’re in Barcelona.

Kann man machen, muss man aber nicht. Mitten im Markt bekommt man sicher besseres günstiger. Aber bei der direkten Lage am Eingang, braucht man sich sicher keine Sorgen machen.
