Blau Cucina e Caffé

Crec que avui hem descobert un gran lloc, que segur que hi tornarem. Ens ha cridat l’atenció la decoració que es veu des de fora, i el preu del menú de 15 € amb dos plats, beguda i cafè. És un restaurant italià amb una carta no molt gran però feta amb molt carinyo. Per 15 € pots agafar de tota la carta, dos plats diferents.
El lloc està molt ben decorat, hi ha detalls per tot arreu, dibuixos a les parets, estris de color blau penjats pel sotre, quadres, etc. Només arribar ens han atès molt amablement i ens han explicat com anava el tema.
Hem demanat dos tipus de pasta italiana, boníssims, cuinats a la italiana amb la pasta al dente i un sofregit amb tomàquet del bo, també ens hem demanat un plat de pasta rellena de pesto que estava deliciosa.
De segon hem fet unes mandonguilles amb tomàquet i un plat de xai amb una salsa aròmatitzada boníssima.
Apart de lo bo del menjar, hem detectat que és un lloc de bon rollo, i això sempre agrada, hi tornarem ja que hem vist que fan vàries coses que volem provar, pizzes autèntiques, plats italians, tapes que criden molt la atenció, etc…

This gem next to the Mercat Santa Caterina is a perfect place for lunch. The «menu» (which means a combination meal deal, not to be confused with the carta) for 9,50 euros gives a starter, main course, coffee, beer, and bread. The food is like grandma would make on a sunday afternoon. One can have pizza in the window customized, if you’re not having the menu. It’s a lovely place. Sneak in and try not to act like a tourist.

I’m surprised but not *too* surprised that there aren’t more reviews for this place. It’s right next to Santa Caterina market, and while they are friendly to visiting tourists, they also offer what locals like as well. It’s quite a charming place with friendly staff and atmosphere — a place to hang your hat and hang out with friends for just a caña and tapas or stay for a full meal. I love Italian food and was excited to see that they have some of my favorite classic dishes such as the parmigiana. They also offer pizza by the slice, either thick or thin crust, with your choice of toppings. You can order individual (a-​la-​carte) items off the menu, or if you come in during lunch hours they have a daily 3-​course menu. The desserts and liquor collection also have some Italian classics — I haven’t had a chance to try all of them yet, but it’s just a matter of time.
There’s also some items that seem a bit out of place for an Italian eatery, but they’re popular at other restaurants generally such as nachos.
If you’re looking for a laid-​back place with lots of options, tasty food, and friendly service at any time of day, Blau is likely to fit the bill. You won’t regret it!

Really nice ladies at this place! They were quite friendly even when I couldn’t speak espanol at all!
They’ve got nice coffee and breakfast bakeries and brilliant design of the place as well! The price was super cheap (2.6 Euros for a café con leche and a Nutella crossan).

Pienso en Blau y huelo pizza, pero pizza de la buena, de la típica, de la original pizza italiana. ¡Mmm, qué rico! Blau es un sitio agradable para ir con tu grupo de amigos. Los dueños son personas jóvenes, simpáticas y por su puesto son «made in Italia», obvio. La Pizza Cuatro Quesos con Roquefort es mi preferida. No dejes de probarla. Además de las pizzas que son super tentadoras, tienen una carta con los platos típicos italianos. Pero lo que te quería contar es que vas a estar rodeado del arte de Ana Taratiel, una joven artista urbana que se dedica a dejar su huella en paredes con sus murales. Me gustan las pizzas pero adoro esos murales, llenan de movimiento al local dándole un toque original y particular. Conocí este sitio gracias a una salida post clases con mis compañeros dentro de los cuales se encontraba Ana. Ella fue quien esa noche nos sugirió la pizza italiana. Fue así como terminamos todos juntos cenando y tomando cañas. Un aplauso para Blau por dedicarse a promover dos artes, el de las pizzas y el de los murales de Ana. Voilà!
