Bun Bo Raval

auf dem wege zum museum für moderne kunst wollten wir uns vorher stärken und sind nach hin und her überlegen, hier gelandet.
das lokal ist innen mega bunt und leicht kitschig, aber auf dem zweiten blick ist schon ordnung und system zu erkennen.
service ist ganz nett und die vietnamesischen speiseauswahl sehr gut.
zur vorspeise hatte ich sommerrollen, die schmackhaft waren, aber leider nicht sehr gut gerollt (meine mama hätte geschimpft;-p). der erdnuss dip dazu war etwas langweilig. als hauptgang hatte ich phở. leider war die brühe nicht so wie ich es bei so einem traditionsessen erhofft habe und die menge der einlagen war etwas zu wenig.
mein freund hatte das sirlon steak mit pommes, was sehr zart und lecker war, aber nicht typisch vietnamesisch ist.
sein sohn hatte frühlingsrollen und eine riesenportion chicken noodles. war beides ganz gut. preis/​leistung war völlig in ordnung. zwei vorspeisen, drei hauptgerichte und trinken hat uns ca 40 € gekostet.
dafür gebe ich sehr gut drei sterne

Sitio muy acogedor, he estado ya dos veces y de momento no he ido a comer, solo a tomar daiquiris y mojitos (muy ricos).

Good change up from traditional Spanish food. The rice balls were very good and so was the chicken noodles dish. As the other reviews have said, it’s not a traditional Vietnamese restaurant but it was very good as an Asian-​fusion type place.
Pretty good mojitos as well at a very good price (3.50). Overall a very good meal, got an appetizer, 2 drinks and 2 entrees for 25 euro! Definitely would go back.

Muy guay este sitio para comer el menú por 9 euros! Bien de cantitad y a mi me gustó un montón (tampoco soy muy entendida de este tipo de comida)
Me pedí unos rollitos de gambas y verduras y de segundo una ensalada de fideos vietnamita.
El local está muy chulo y tiene una terraza con un par de mesas, y está situado en una buena zona del raval, al lado del MACBA.

It depends on what you know about phở. I grew up in California and my mom made it. This couldn’t have been further from what I know as phở. However, after 10+ days of pinxtos and tapas, I was yearning for some soup noodles and my Shin ramen ran out.
Pork spring rolls had that bubbly, chewy ‘imperial’ skin. The filling is a bit different — more like an egg roll — with ground pork and glass noodles. The fish sauce was more sour and vinegary. Well, we are in Spain so it was good for where we were. I saw someone else’s summer rolls and they looked good — shrimp and all in clear skin.
Chicken phở — grilled chicken. Thick noodles that were dried and cooled, but still a tough al dente. The soup was not stewed for hours or had that wholesome chicken essence. Not my kind of phở but it was hot soup noodles. Shrug. I wouldn’t get it again. I added a ton of herbs and lime, which I don’t normally do.
I did love the herb accompaniment. So fresh and large. Because of this, when I burped later, I did feel like I ate phở. Heheh
Service was quick and good so no complaints! I think Vietnamese food is rare here. I see more Chinese and Japanese people and food in Barcelona, which probably would’ve been the safer option…

Bar-​restaurante vietnamita situado en el Raval, a dos calles de las Ramblas y muy cerca del Macba, cuya carta se compone únicamente de platos de origen vietnamita (también apto para veganos). Predominan las especias, platos ideales para compartir a un precio razonable. La decoración del local es muy llamativa a la par que original y colorida. Muy buena comida, muy buenos cocktails y ambiente muy agradable.

This is a place where you go because you’re near the end of your trip and you desperately need something different.
If you go with the expectation of it being fusion then you’ll be fine. The phở ga has grilled chicken breast in it. The broth is tasty enough and it probably would work better with the beef phở. It’s the same chicken you find in their rice vermicelli dish.
But you pair that with a 4E margarita frappé (blended) and it’s all good.

Good phở cant complain considering where in Barcelona, service was good and the viet coffee was great. I didnt come all the way to europe to eat phở but after 10 days of german food and spanish seafood my belly wanted something familiar! This place hit the spot

Delicioso rest. vietnamita en el Raval. Muy buenos rollitos crudos, Bahn Mi y curry de pescado y verduras. Toda la carta parece buena. Además muy bonito y agradable.

The food was just OK the Bun Bo was more like a beef salad. It barely had any noodles in it.

I’m a fan of both Bun Bo locations. Neither is much different from the other. The décor is the same in both, and the food too. It’s not super authentic Vietnamese food, but it’s definitely tasty. I really like the Phở Gha (chicken soup), and the crispy egg rolls.

Seré breve y conciso, para variar. No me arrepiento de haber ido, pero tampoco creo que sienta ganas de volver. Creo que si quieres probar la gastronomía vietnamita, seguramente habrán sitios más auténticos en Barcelona.
LA COMIDA: Dicho esto, pedí un entrante consistente en carne picada (con especies y cosillas, disculpen mi falta de precisión), que envolvías en hojas de lechuga y optativamente mojabas con una salsa. Esto me pareció bueno y todo, no espectacular, pero lo disfruté.
De segundo el Phở, plato nacional vietnamita según parece, que es un bol de sopa gigante al que puedes escoger la carne que te servirán con ella: pollo o ternera. La verdad es que no me entusiasmó excesivamente, le añadí picante y… picaba. Pero vaya, que no me pareció destacable. No soy nada fan de los restaurantes chinos pero he probado sopas en esos restaurantes que saben mejor que el Phở este.
EL SERVICIO: Austero y sin ningún alarde. Sin ser malo, no hubiera sido muy diferente de ser servido por un robot.
PRECIO: Ufff, creo que no es especialmente barato. Sin postre, para 2 personas, 2 copas de vino, 1 entrante para compartir y 2 copas de vino, salió a unos 27 €. Para una sopa y un poco de carne picada, pues no me pareció barato. Cuando menos, la relación calidad/​precio no me pareció la mejor.
CONCLUSIÓN: Sólo te recomiendo que vengas aqui si te queda cerca y quieres probar un poco este tipo de cocina, que creo que puede ser más cara sólo por su exotismo en otros lugares (a menos que estés en Vietnam).

Un local precioso, lleno de color. La carta no es muy extensa, pero está todo buenísimo. Los camareros son muy amables. El curry está riquísimo y los rollos vietnamitas deliciosos. Tienen unos cocktailes excelentes.
Muy recomendable.

preferred their branch at Carrer dels Sagristans 3 as it was more cozy and has a nice place outside. inside is also nicer there, but can’t really explain in what way (more spacey maybe? more window seats?)

Absolutely fantastic. Great atmosphere, wonderful cocktails and lovely décor.
Had cocktails here before (cheapest for quality that I’ve found in barcelona) and tried the food.
Steak I had was fantastic and the traditional yet delicious Vietnamese dessert of cookies, ice cream and coffee was brilliant. Great value Too as all mains less than 10euros including the steak dish. Definitely visit. Staff could be a bit politer but I’ll forgive that as the place is rammed.

The quirky décor and the cheap mojito offer (3,5 Euro) dragged me to this place while passing by. At first sight, I didn’t realize it is a Vietnamese restaurant. It took some time to discover what is beneath the heavy, colorful make up of the place. When I did figure out, I tried the deep fried wonton filled with vegetables served with a sweet chilli sauce. The sauce was just like the one I had from the Chinese stores here. The fried wonton is a fried food basically, nothing amazing about it. Oh, there was one leaf of lettuce that was placed to make the plate look assorted.
The waitress seemed to be annoyed when I told her to give us a moment to think what to order. It is almost like this in any Spanish bar/​café, you know, the notion of customer service doesn’t exist.
On top of that, the more people came to the place, the more the air got stuffy. We figured the kitchen was near and all the smell was coming straight to where we dine. Two British guys sitting next to our table took their sweaters off complaining about the same stuff. We left the place to move on somewhere more comfortable before we get roasted.

Excelente comida a precio razonable. El servicio, ambiente y decoración es excepcional. Muy recomendado.

Le Raval et le carrer dels Angels c’était déjà le rendez vous incontournable du Mojito de 18h30…(je sais c’est tôt, mais c’est juste qu’après y’a plus de place au bar !!!), mais que voyons nous à coté de Rosa la méxicaine? Son petit frère Vietnamien !! Bun Bo Raval !!!
Le concept est identique, un bar-​restaurant qui vous aguiche avec des cocktails à 3 € 50 et vous permet de vous restaurer si le coeur vous en dit ! Et contrairement à la formule sud américaine, la version asiatique réalise un quasi sans faute en cuisine.
Le bar vous propose 3 cocktails à 3 € 50, le Mojito (nature ou fresa), le frozen Daiquiri (un daiqui traité comme une margarita) et la caipirinha ! Pour les autres cocktails comptez 4 € 90
Et ça envoie, pas de temps mort, du sourire, du goût, de la quantité…Yeahhh
Coté cuisine, j’ai choisi un Bo bun, pas le meilleur de la terre, mais il était bon et copieux à 7 € 95 je dis yes !
Il y a un choix de bières asiatiques, dont une qui né faisait pas encore partie de ma collection… je dis Bravo !
Enfin le cadre, c’est tout neuf, y’a des couleurs vives, du bouddha, du lampion, des banquettes confortables, des tables hautes a partager… c’est cool.
Le service est un peu expéditif, et on vous fait comprendre qu’une fois votre repas fini, il est temps de laisser votre place… c’est pas cher, on né va pas trop faire les précieux :)
Le Bun Bo Raval, une adresse au top pour démarrer la soirée, et très pratique pour manger asiatique avec 2 grammes dans chaque bras: D

Ce restaurant — bar, est excellent :
— pour les plats vietnamien qu’ils servent, très bons !
— pour la déco,
— pour le prix
— pour les cocktails
— pour le prix des cocktails (3,5 euros le Mojito, ou la Caipirinha, ou le daquiri), et ils sont très bien préparés …
Donc en version bar ou en version restaurant, il est indispensable d’y aller, en croisant les doigts qu’il reste de la place !!!
