Café Silenus

We came for menu del dia; it is in catalan, they don’t have it in Spanish or English, and were gruff about us asking, which is what solidified that we wanted to eat here. No regrets. The service warmed up signficantly after we ordered, as is the case with a lot of places in Barcelona.
Del dia runs about 14 euros or 10 for the rapido (1 course plus dessert and a drink; neither includes a coffee).
The atmosphere is shabby posh, and the walls were a color of yellow-​greige that reminded myself and my dining companion of our trip to Budapest. Rough, repainted walls mixed with some new elements and some used chairs and this and that here and there.
The food was delicious and beautiful. I had leek soup, pomegranate molasses roasted chicken leg with bulgar wheat and honey reduction (?), and a delicious local-​style mini cake with a raspberry in the center and chocolate sauce. Portion size was generous, and my only complaint is that the red wine I ordered had clearly been open too long, maybe only the day before but it didn’t sit well with the air, so it wasn’t as pleasant as it could have been.

Ah! The joy of real, carefully prepared food — we finished every crumb. And the service was delightfully attentive. Fusion Spanish menu.

Restaurante ideal para tener largas charlas y poca prisa. La carta, ‘mediterránea’, es variada, y los platos ligeramente minimalistas. El servicio es agradable pero lento. Lo dicho, pruébalo cuando estés relajado/​a o te reencuentres con un viejo amigo/​a.

What a great place: very good foodand very friendly personel. I had the praen soup, never eaten such tastefull one. Easy atmosphere, wifi working well.

This is a chic restaurant not far from La Rambla. The place is dark and artsy and has great food. I ordered kangaroo just because it is not something you see on an ordinary menu. We all had a good time and licked our plates clean.

Imposible no enamorarse de Silenus. Imposible no enamorarse de quien te invite a Silenus. OoOoooops! ten cuidado con quien vas. Quizás te enamores del «no indicado». Este lugar me genera paz y felicidad. Si estás en búsqueda de algo similar debes (es una obligación) pisar y luego reposar en Silenus. Ya la letra del cartel te explica lo que pasa adentro. La terraza afuera es linda pero yo te recomiendo que te enamores con la magia que hay en el lugar. Attenti con quien vas. Abstenerseeeeee personas ególatras y derivados. Eso sí, rollo intelectual. Una cocina creativa, así ellos mismos la definen. Síííííííí muy creativa. Afuera puedes disfrutar de unas mesitas estilo terraza pero suelen estar siempre siempre con gente. Uff. Te recomiendo si no que vayas bien tempranito así no tienes que pelear por una de ellas o bien, el mejor plan me parece como te dije, es ir a la paz que se vive dentro. Voilà!

El Silenus es uno de los restaurantes más llenos de la zona, tanto a la hora de comer como a la de cenar, y no podría ser de otra forma. De aires mediterráneos y con sabor a principios del siglo XX, sus platos son cuidados al detalle, tanto en los ingredientes como en diseño y, aunque son unos precios moderados, vale la pena pagarlos para poder disfrutar de uno de los locales con más personalidad del antiguo barrio chino.
Disponen de una pequeña terraza para fumadores — cuatro mesas — que casi todas las tardes están llenas de jóvenes tomando sus famosos cócteles a cuatro euros.
El servicio de tarde, con alguna que otra excepción, es bastante lento — puedes llegar a esperar unos quince minutos hasta que te sirven un mojito — así que, si no se dispone de bastante tiempo, mejor decantarse por un refresco, cerveza o una buena copa de vino.

Das im Studentenviertel gelegene Silenus ist ein wunderbares Restaurant mit freundlichem und aufmerksamen Personal und guter, unaufgeregter Küche. Mittags gibt es ein Dreigang-​menü inkl. einem Getränk für 14, — Euro. Pro Gang gibt es fünf oder sechs Wahlmöglichkeiten. Einmal aß ich eine erfrischende Wassermelonensuppe, gut gewürzten Thunfisch auf karamelsiertem Spinat und zum Nachtisch ein Schokoladensüppchen mit Olivenöl.
Draußen auf der Straße stehen drei Tische, an denen es sich gut sitzen läßt. Das Restaurant selbst besteht aus einem langgezogenem, schmalen Raum mit hoher Decke. Quasi mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, überall stehen und liegen alte Bücher, hängen Bilder an der Wand, wirkt es in voll besetzten Zustand angenehm intim.
In der Woche, die wir in Barcelona verbracht haben, waren wir drei Mal dort. Das Silenus wurde einer unser Lieblingsorte. Der Rotwein ist auch gut trinkbar. Das Glas kostet zwei Euro.
Sonntags ist Ruhetag.

Gutes aber nicht umwerfendes Restaurant. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet in einem Raum mit schön hohen Decken und warmen Farben.
Ich war zum Mittagstisch da. Gibt zwei Alternativen ein kleines für knapp 10 EUR (2-​Gänge: kleiner Salat oder Suppe und Hauptspeise) und ein umfangreicheres (3-​Gänge). Ich hatte zum Hauptgang Dorade, die saftig mit einer leckeren Sauce daherkam.
Für Mittags wirklich gut und auch für Abends sicher zu empfehlen

In der Nähe des neuen MACBA (Kunstmuseum) liegt dieses nette Restaurant. Leider darf man nur draußen etwas Trinken.
Also wenn man nur Getränke bestellen möchte.
Denn drinnen herrscht zu jeder Tageszeit ein reges Treiben.
Und wirklich drinnen ist es immer voll!
Jedoch ist das Restaurant sehr exklusiv
Aber sehr schön gemacht.
Und ich denke, da es immer so voll war, ist es ein sehr gutes Restaurant.
