My wife and i finally made it here after two previous attempts where it was closed. Quaint little place with nice ambiance.
With the great reviews we were expecting a lot. Unfortunately, we were disappointed.
The potatoes were good…
Steamed, simple and clean with a tasty rosemary sauce (menu said sage), but good nonetheless.
I ordered an octopus tapa. It was nicely prepared, but the sauce was awkward. It was a creamy, cheesy concoction with some red oil that tasted fine, but didn’t really go with octopus.
For mains, my wife ordered a white bean, eggplant, and mozzarella plate which looked beautiful, but was served cold. That was weird.
I ordered a lamb kabob. I was served a lamb wrap. Again, tasted fine, but it was not a 13 euro burrito.
We were given bread which was nice even though we didn’t ask for it, but there was a charge for it on the bill.
Interestingly enough, we’ve been super happy about all the other places in Barcelona we’ve eaten. This is the only place that asked us if we wanted to add a tip to our bill which was uncomfortable — tipping for us is usually relatively anonymous.

For the money, I can’t think of what would beat it. Had the opportunity to eat here twice; incredible quality and comfortable, chill service were very consistent.
The menu is a little strange as it seems pretty «global» for a tapas place, but nothing either of us ordered either night was out of place. 6 – 7 dishes + a bottle of wine is less than 60 €, for sure.
Easy to find and approachable, a true gem of la Raval.

I was lucky enough to enjoy dinner here in New Year’s Eve. The food was amazing, by far the best food we had in Barcelona. Everything was so fresh, and flavourful. I had a delicious dish with green pesto and beans, and some amazing sun dried tomatoes. The main was a spinach and ricotta cannelloni. The food was great and the service was lovely. I would highly recommend it.

No serves for 10 minutes.
Still waiting but disappointed.
Moreover, delay in a kitchen up to 15 minutes.

Une découverte à Barcelone!
Ce petit restaurant idealement situé à 2 pas du célèbre marché de la boqueria va désormais faire parti de mon carnet d’adresse barcelonais!
C’est en terasse que nous avons décidé de nous installer pour un déjeuner sur le pouce.
Un menu à 8 euros (oui oui!) est proposé le midi. Ce menu comprend: une boisson, une soupe, un plat et un café.
Attirés par l’odeur d’épices régnant en salle, nous avons choisi le plat du jour, le poulet tandoori: excellent.
Tous les plats circulant autour de nous avaient l’air également très bon! Les présentations sont soignées et les saveurs recherchées. C’est plus que ce que l’on peut attendre pour un menu à 8 euros!
Le service est très aimable, rapide et efficace.
J’ai envie d’y retourner en soirée afin de goûter leur tapas et l’ambiance de la salle typiquement barcelonnaise.

The best lunch we had in Barcelona! Really adorable neighborhood restaurant with an 8 euro lunch menu that included a drink (wine, beer, soda)+soup of the day+an entrée or 2 tapas+coffee. The red wine I had was quite nice (love that wine is as cheap as soda in Barcelona!) and the soup of the day was pea soup with mustard. A bit bland but went well with the bread we were brought. I picked mussels in a white wine sauce and a duck summer roll with spinach and spring onions as my two tapas. Both were delicious! The mussels were a tad salty but very fresh and the duck summer roll was stuffed with tender shreds of duck. The bf had the vegetarian lasagna and said it was really good. An espresso & americano at the end although I had a bit of drink envy when I saw someone else get a cappuccino.
Service was all by one very friendly guy who spoke a decent amount of English. Really laid-​back atmosphere and pleasant to sit outside on a warm fall day :) I only wish we’d discovered it earlier!

We missed the food because we got here at 1.15am. The place is open from 1pm to 1am and kitchen closes at 12am. So just writing so that no one else misses the place because of the incorrect times. Place is cute and the bartender gave us free drinks because we missed the kitchen and walked a long way to check out the place.
Update after we ate: food was okay. Asparagus was great especially with the sauce. Shrimp and sun dried tomatoes were okay. Tandoori chicken wings were good.

Lugar con encanto cerca de la Boquería. Tienen una carta no muy larga donde las ensaladas (medias 3 €, grandes 5 €) y los platos principales sobre los 7 €. Siempre hay un plato del día.
Aquel día, tenía de primero una ensalada de pollo ahumado con vinagreta de mostaza. De segundo; Lasagna de Ternera con Beixamel de romero. Y de beber; una caña. El servicio es rápido y eficaz. El ambiente; se ha de tener en cuenta que es un lugar pequeño y suele estar muy lleno, por tanto el espacio está demasiado aprovechado.
En general, es un lugar tranquilo. El precio fueron 11 €. Es conocido por su aparición en la película «L’auberge espagnole»

very good service! Unilocal said it would close at 2, but when we ordered they said they’d close soon (we were there 6min before 1). we were told not to worry, it was just for information, no need to hurry. only stayed for that one drink and a toilet visit (which was clean) but would recommend as it seemed clean and service comes with a smile :)

Awesome place, everything was incredible. Had the seafood ceviche, duck roll, and spinach/​balsamic/​goat cheese salad. Drinks were also great. Server gave us free shots at the end of the night too, would go back in a heart beat.

Excellent tapas with cheap drinks! Try the sun-​dried tomatoes, salmon dice or steamed mussels.

Perfect spot for lunch; three-​option special menu changes daily and includes soup, drink, and entrée for cheap. Food is fresh, tasty, and interesting. They seem to always have alternative options too (vegetarian, gluten free, raw). My party of three got one of each, then shared them all. We came back the next day too.
The host speaks English if you’re a jerk and don’t speak Spanish. He might be a jerk right back at you though.
I’ll definitely be back.

Kinda hard to fine but had great, affordable food with good selections. Cheesecake is a must try.

Si cet endroit vous dit quelque chose, c’est normal ! Il a servi de décor à l’Auberge Espagnol. C’est là que Romain Duris apprenait l’espagnol Puta Madre et allait danser avec Judith Godiche.
C’est quand même agréable de ce retrouver dans un tel décor, et en plus c’est super bon ! Le midi un menu à 8 euros: petite entrée, boisson, plat et café. Le plat était délicieux !
Pas cher, bon et joli !

My husband and I enjoyed a tasty lunch here one afternoon after visiting the contemporary art museum.
The spot is cozy, the interior kind of awesomely funky, the menu small and on a white board. Whoever wrote it on that particular day didn’t have particularly good handwriting, and combined with my bad Spanish we had a hard time figuring out what was being served. I recognized the words for garbanzo beans and feta cheese, so I went with that dish. My husband got a ham and melon salad.
Our meals both began with some tasty gazpacho. Both our entrees were fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. Definitely light and healthy compared to most of the food we’d been eating during the trip. The price was right and the service was pretty good. I’d recommend it.

I had reeeaallly good food here. i mean, the sundried tomato paste with anchovies was amazing. And the papas with alioli were the best i had in Barcelona. Honestly, i was expecting more from the potatoes in Barcelona but i didnt have any that were that great, only here. The salmon and fig i wasnt too crazy about but i could see why others would like it, thats just my taste.
However, the service was horrible :/​For one person dining a few tapas (which should have only taken a total of 30 minutes) i was there for over an hour… always waiting for something (menu, placing my order, the check, and change). Otherwise i would have given this place 5 stars.

En WE à Barcelone avec deux enfants de moins de 6 ans, nous nous dirigions vers le marché de la Boqueria sur les Ramblas, quand la faim nous a arrêtés à l’Iposa. Accueil sympa, table libre en terrasse (il était tôt pour les Espagnols ;) et surtout, petit parc avec balançoires et toboggan jouxtant la terrasse: parfait pour finir le repas tranquillement pendant que les enfants s’amusent ! Tarif incroyable pour le repas de midi: 8 € pour un gaspacho, du poulet façon tajine (ou poisson rôti aux légumes), café ET boisson ! Pour le dessert, allez composer vous-​même votre glacé au Froyosi juste à côté.

i absolutly love this place. Went for dinner late (1045pm) .
This restaurant has 4 staff members– a cook, bartender, and 2 servers.
The menu changes every night and is all fresh seasonal local ingredients. our server was very cool, he was taking shots with us by the end of the night.
We ordered 2 tapas– raosted potatoes and an anchovie, sundried tomatoe spread… wow were they good. WHYYYYY can their be places like this in New Jersey.
For dinner we I ordered salmon with avacado and grapfruit. the salmon was actually cured, instead of cooked and was delicious.
my girl ordered chicken teriaki (what an american) with rice and was really good too. All looked as good as they tasted.
Also got a bottle of rose wine and 2 espresso’s. AND THE BILL WAS ONLY $ 49!!! for 2 tapas, 2 dinners, a BOTTLE of wine, and 2 coffees. CANT BEAT IT. I almost felt bad not paying more for this food.
my favorite was the anchovie spread, and would suggest it, but their menu is different every night, so dont go their expecting what I ordered.
PEOPLE. dont mess this place up with bad reviews and making this place a tourist haven. its perfect the way it is. lots of locals, each one came in the restaurant and kissed every staff member. hah.

We ate here three times during our trip. Each time the food was amazing. For lunch they have a Small menu that changes each day (not sure if specific days has certain items.) Three items to choose from that includes soup drink (soda, water, wine or beer) and main course for € 7,00. Amazing price and flavor. Dinner was equally as food, except this menu seemed to be consistent.
Tiny place, wonderful food and staff and the artwork on the walls was fun as well. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Tolle Bar, etwas abseits gelegen. Dennoch einen Besuch wert und immer voll. Liebevoll eingerichtet und auf jeden Fall sehens– und schmeckenswert! Sowohl Mittags als auch abends.

Otro bar con sus aledaños en obras… Lo que más gustaba del Iposa era su terraza pero la placita donde estaba, frente al bar, está actualmente patas arriba así que por el momento no hay. Ojalá no la cambien demasiado porque tenía mucho encanto: con su mini parque infantil (de los que no molestan porque no van demasiados niños a berrear), una mesa de ping-​pong muy solicitada, un quiosco…
Es un bar con un punto bohemio-​artístico en su ambiente, no en vano está muy cerca de la Massana, la escuela de artes y diseño con mejor reputación de la ciudad. Con esto no quiero decir ni que sea cargante ni altanero sino todo lo contrario. El local está formado de pequeñas mesas de hierro y mármol y una barra también chiquitita. Es muy acogedor aunque, insisto, lo mejor es la terraza.
Me parece un bar ideal para quedar a tomar café (muy bueno, por cierto) después de comer o un vino a última hora de la tarde.

El Iposa es uno de esos restaurantes que me hace sentir más en Barcelona. Tiene un ambiente joven buenrrollero y casi siempre que he ido (siempre de noche) ha tocado aforo casi completo para hacer alarde de un éxito del que todo el mundo habla.
El trato que el staff se trae con los clientes es cercano y amigable. Así que la nota les va alta porque los platos también son de chuparse los dedos en notable alto y además el precio va en un plan muy ajustado.
Cocina mediterránea que te deja el cuerpo perfecto para unirte a los que han cenado más rápido que tú y ya llevan la primera de gin-​tónic por la mitad.

El iposa lleva bastantes años abierto, hace poco lo han reformado y ahora no está tan demacrado como antes, aunque tenía su encanto con su mini cocina insertada en la misma barra, siempre pensé que menuda faena para el cocinero servir a 15 o más mesas (cuando hay terraza) y tener ese mini-​espacio. Bueno pues parece que también debiero pensarlo ellos, porque ya ha llegado el cambio. Han aprovechado y han ampliado el baño, muy bien, además con buen gusto. La comida está muy bien, tienen la opción de plato único más económica. También se puede pasar por la noche a tomar simplemente unas copas.

Déçue
Beaucoup d’attente, les serveurs servent plutôt les habitués et pas trop les touristes. La qualité des plats est moyenne et un peu chère pour ce que c’est.
