My wife and I just spent a week in Barcelona, and we enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. Our hotel was across the street, and this restaurant is located near a large Carrefour market. With an early flight in the morning, we needed to grab dinner earlier(i.e. 8pm) than usual, and Canas y Tapas hit the spot. The #1, which is a broken fried egg over French fries, was different but tasty. The fried seafood combo is a large portion and included anchovies, baby squid, calamari, and marinated fish. The seafood paella was comparable to the various places that we tried throughout the week. Service was prompt, particularly with the drinks. While this definitely has a mall restaurant atmosphere, it suited our American desire for a quick, satisfying meal.

Terrible service. I would not recommend this place. The only good thing was the sangria. They even turn off the AC to kick us out.

When I interned in Barcelona, we would come here once in a while to get the Menu of day. Essentially a 3 course meal for around 10 – 12 euros a day. It was good, nothing too special. I think the thing that I really liked about this place was the service was great, and they were so kind.

The food was good for a mall restaurant. The papas hit the spot, but the service was lacking.

First 2 hours after we arrived in Spain, dropped our luggage off, and headed into the mall. We wanted to start our first night diving into the tapas world. This is the equivalent to Olive Garden as «Italian» and Red Lobster as «Seafood». Overpriced for what you get, however it’s amazing how quickly the beverages come out. We were barely offering our entrees and all our drinks arrived because of their wireless ordering device. The ham croquettes were good, but the sampler platter was meh. Eat at the Italian place directly across by the stairs for a 300% improved dining experience in service and food.
