First came here 3 years ago and always said we’d be back. Well we did return — every night of our 3 nights in Barcelona! We took friends on our last night who returned the next night so they must have liked it too! Fabulous food, excellent service and truly great staff. Nothing was too much trouble and the young lady on the front desk was just lovely — smiling and welcoming.

Servicio excelente.

The place is really nice, good for romantic dates as well as for groups. I went during lunchtime though and it was pretty much vacant, probably because we’re the first ones there! For starter, I chose the salami for starters, and it was a plateful of just salami, which I’ve had too much of. The salmon and seabass mains that we tried were ok, but not too much to get excited about. The desserts are superb. Try the apple crumble with ice cream. The waiter was helpful although he tried to joke a lot, but was not into our taste.

This was a fancy restaurant and very good. Not like there is a dress code but it was nice. The food was good but nothing to rave about. For an appetizer we had jamon with mini pieces of bread and tomato. the second was melted provolone cheese with toasted pieces of bread to go with it kind of like bruschetta. For my meal i had spinach rolled in sort of like manicotti with cream sauce and tomato sauce in between… very good! For the second dish i had rabbit with white rice. The rabbit was tender and a big piece of the arm and shoulder. only thing i didn’t like is the amount of salt i guess you have to ask for no salt if it will bother you. and the last part was desert. I had the tiramisu which i scarfed down very quick. In the end i would return to the place. oh and not to forget desert came with champagne and the menu was 10.50 euros maybe a little more.

English: Went for a friend’s birthday and the food was ok. I wasn’t super impressed, but I wasn’t super disappointed either. I ordered the menu del noche, which comes with a starter, main, and dessert(drinks not included) for 15.90E. The star of the night was the starter — calabaza and shrimp risotto — it was absolutely marvelous! However, the parillada de carne was a little boring. It came with a «steak burger,» a sliver of chicken, butifarra(type of sausage), and ½ an oven roasted potato. It wasn’t anything that would make you slap yo’ mama, but it wasn’t bad… but, I probably won’t be going back. From service to ambiance, from main course to dessert there really wasn’t anything special about the experience.

This was the perfect place for people watching. Eat outside, even if there’s a wait. We had an assortment of tapas, with the highlights being the padrón peppers(spicy!), artichokes and the chorizo. Tasty sangria, too. Waitstaff is very friendly and doesn’t rush patrons.

Our experience at Divinus did not live up to expectations, since it was highly recommended by a local(Barcelona native) friend. We had already been to Cuitat Comtal about a block away, so we had a reference point by the time we got to Divinus. Essentially, the service was poor – we had to continuously ask for more wine, more beer, more water, more ice, etc., etc., etc. The gazpacho was served at the same time as others were served entres(and for this, we at least received an apology from the waitress). Most of the food seemed canned, frozen, or pre-prepared. The consensus was that the pizza was frozen. The crust was limp, the cheese congealed. The artichoke hearts were definitely canned. The paella was so-so, by far the worst of the trip. We received complimentary champagne, which was very nice, but it really didn’t make up for what we felt was sub-par cuisine.

Cool atmosphere, good food. The tapas were… well tapas, if you screw up patatas bravas you must be an idiot. The fried cuttlefish was to die for, the best I’ve had anywhere so far. Service is pleasant and friendly and attentive. I would definitely bring my family here for a nice dinner when they will come visit me in Barcelona. The chefs specials were so good(except for my crepes suzette which I didn’t quite find special, just average and bland). Prices are high though. Its probably because of the location.

After a great tour of Casa Batlo three blocks away, the bf and I perused the many restaurants nearby to find the best prix fixe meal around. From 1−4pm, they offer a menu del dia that’s only valid inside the restaurant, so if you want to dine outside in the sun while watching the world go by on the sidewalk along Passeig de Gracia, prepare to pay more. Walking into the restaurant, you’ll pass an open kitchen where rows of jamon, garlic bulbs and chili peppers hanging. The interior is classy with lots of earth tones and the leather seating is comfortable. Tables are not too close that’ll you’ll touch your neighbor’s arm, but still cozy. Service was a bit slow, I think it’s a Spanish thing, where you don’t rush through anything. From the prix fixe menu you can choose a soup or salad, an entrée and dessert. Wine or beer is also included. I had the gazpacho which was perfectly chilled and topped with slightly crunchy bell peppers to contrast with the creamy soup. When I saw«Bacalao» as one of the entrees, it brought back memories of a similar dish my family would make when we lived back home in Manila. This Bacalao had a pan fried fish sitting atop stewed tomatoes, zucchinis and potatoes. It was a simple but flavorful dish. The dessert was just ok, I had a torta de limon which I guess in Barcelona really translates to an airy white sponge cake topped with lemon gelee, not quite the tart I imagined I was gonna get. Beat part of the meal is the PRICE! This set menu only costs € 11.70!(which translates to roughly $ 15-$ 16!) The tip is already included and you get a half carafe of vino with your meal. How can you not LOVE that? Bookmark it on your next trip to Barcelona.

Really enjoyed this place! Did a couple of weeks in Spain and this place was good enough to go twice during our vacation! Indoor + outdoor seating are available and the kitchen is open late. We went once in the afternoon and once after midnight, both times the food was top notch. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, and though the décor is very classy, the prices are very reasonable — some of the best deals in Barcelona we found! We’ve had the artichoke appetizer, the green chile tapas, the potato bravas, the salad sampler(my fave!), the calamari, the four seasons pizza, their green salad, and delicious sangrias :) Thumbs up to all dishes!
