We MUST have gone to the wrong restaurant. My boyfriend and I were staying at the Arts Hotel and always asked the concierge which restaurants to check out. They usually do a great job with the suggestions, but… this HAD to be a mistake. We ordered toasted bread with a tomato spread (literally what it), steak, and vegetable paella. The steak was incredibly chewy and bland. The paella was good but VERY oily!!! The only redeeming aspect about our meal was that they served ginger ale. It must not be a popular thing in Europe because I searched high and low for it (Germany, Czech, and Spain!) and this was the only restaurant that carried it.

Vue superbe il est vrai. Entrée, noel oblige, salade de Homard. Bön mais beaucoup de salade, comme plat, pour mon mari plat special catalan Zarsuela, sorte de bouillabaise espagnole, pour moi Tataki de thon. Bien que les 2 plats soient arrives en meme temps, le Zarsuela devait etre mis en assiette. Donc mon thon refoidissait pendant ce temps la. Quelle deception de voir mon pauvre petit morceau de thon sur sa petite ardoise et le plat de mon mari avec plein de bonnes choses dans son assiette. Un morceau de thon, 2 petites tranches de tomate et 2 morceaux de salade. Donc mon thon etait deja fini depuis tres longtemps quand mon mari a fini le sien.
Service impec, serveurs sympa et certainement mieux habilles que la clientele. Pour un soir de noel, le restaurant devrait interdire les jeans, les leggins deformes et l usage des gsm.

Llegue a este lugar por sugerencia de un taxista, lamentablemente estuve solo una noche en Barcelona, encima feriado de Pascua, muchos planes no había. Sin embargo, sabía que si o si tenía que ir al Puerto, ya era tarde así que por recomendación del taxista termine aquí, me dijo que la comida era muy buena y no me iban a cortar la cabeza.
El lugar es precioso, la atención es genial!!! Ya había poca gente porque era bastante tarde.
Para comer me pedí jamon de bellota que lo tenía pendiente y es de lo más rico que comí en mi vida. Me trajeron de cortesía unas tostadas con tomate y aceite de oliva, con el vino que me había pedido la verdad es que ya estaba lista pero ya habia pedido un risotto de mariscos y cuando lo trajeron volvió el hambre.
La verdad es que agradezco mucho al taxista que me recomendó este lugar, por la relación precio, lugar y calidad valió realmente la pena

This is my go to place when friends and family visits. Best paella in town and the lobster casserole is also very good, as well as the cava (Spanish sparkling wine) sangria, its really refreshing on a warm day!

We were looking for the best paella but this restaurant was a big big disapointment. We ordered the paella with lobster and told that it came with shrimp and we could have it with no shells. What we got is hard to describe because it was the ultimate rip off and disapointment. There were no shrimp and the only lobster a tiny claw in the Shell and a tiny body of some type of cray fish. The answer was that is the way it comes. We had walked 3 miles for this terribe meal but made sure to

El Cangrejo Loco es de esos lugares que vas una vez en tu vida y no te vuelven a ver. Elegimos el menú «my way», donde cada uno de los platos elegidos debías utilizar la lupa para ver lo que había en ellos. Los primeros platos fueron «hummus con tostaditas» y bacalao con un suplemento de 1 € (diminuto). De segundo; mini1⁄2 Bogavante a la espalda (suplemento 5 €). Y de postre; una simplona crema catalana.
El servicio fue agradable pero increiblemente lento, he de destacar que cuando me llegó el segundo plato ya había hecho la digestión del primero e incluso diría que hice la siesta. Fruto de esta extrema lentitud, todos los platos llegaron a la mesa fríos sin excepción (éramos 10 comensales).
Desde mi punto de vista, es un reclamo para turistas, pero no lo entiendo ya que es un lugar de puerto, pero en ningún momento se ve el puerto. Quizás si pides carta (y por tanto platos más caros), podría ser que tanto la calidad como el servicio mejore.
Desde mi punto de vista, hay mejores lugares por la Zona del Puerto.

We took a metro to this side of town and had a fabulous afternoon outside on the beach! This restaurant is beautiful and in a great location to sit outside and enjoy the view and the sun. We split a traditional seafood paella which was more than enough for two people, delicious, and was full of fresh seafood. The service was wonderful and very attentive to our needs while we were there. We really enjoyed our time here and will be back!

In the mood for trying out different paellas we hit this place in Port Olimpic. Nice terrace, very shaded, good service. Paella was pretty good but I still have my other favourite spots in town. Either way, glad I tried it.

Fantástica ubicación, buen servicio y buena relación calidad precio. Esas son las tres grandes virtudes de este lugar.
No es un sitio muy barato pero tampoco excesivamente caro y la calidad y elaboración de los platos lo vale.
Existe la posibilidad de cogerte un menú (bebida aparte) de 25 € con bastante variedad de platos a elegir (entrante caliente, entrante frio, plato principal y postre) que es una buena opción para probar variedad rica y no sale demasiado caro y sales comido bien.
Mi pareja y yo comimos eso con una botella de vino q nos cascamos y salió por 60 €.

Me ha decepcionado porque el port es un sitio de alta calidad y este sitio deja mucho que desear por la limpieza.
El dueño debería enterarse de que no vale vivir de la fama de hace años. Hay que actualizar las cosas.

My friend and I were traveling in Barcelona on students’ budgets, and we wanted to have one nice seafood dinner in Port Olímpico. After reading many reviews on Unilocal,I went with El Cangrejo Loco and it was the right choice!
January is obviously off-​season, and many of the restaurants along the Port were close to empty, if not so. Outside every restaurant stood an eager worker trying to beckon us in, which is annoying but typical in the touristy parts of Barcelona as we learned. It was tough to avoid these pushy people as we made our way down to El Cangrejo, which is the very last restaurant in line. There was no one standing outside to try and lure us in and we took this as a good sign. The hostess sat and brought us menus, and though I had to ask for the «Menu My Way», she brought it to us (They had English menus, hooray!) There were no hard feelings when we wanted to split it, which is great because it was both plenty of food, and actually affordable for us this way.
First came the olives and tomato tostado. These were both very tasty, but we were just getting started. We chose the mile-​feuilles of smoked salmon and tramezzini bread, which was gorgeous in presentation and equally tasty, especially the roe-​type cream that came with it. Next came our hot appetizer, the seafood croquettes. These were TO DIE FOR. I seriously would have been happy to eat a dozen of these golden brown, perfectly fried balls of creamy crab heaven.
Then came the paella parellada. This was our first paella in Barcelona and it was amazing. A perfect amount for two people, it was bite after bite of chewy paella nirvana (even to my limited knowledge of the dish). It contained a few different types of shell-​free seafood, though the shrimp was a standout.
Finally, the hostess recommended for us to try the Catalan custard cream, which is like crème brûlée. I usually don’t go for custard type things, but this was so light and fluffy and flavorful that I devoured my half instantly.
The bill was 25,50 (pre-​wine) as promised. My friend and I both left full and satisfied, and El Cangrejo Loco was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Sinceramente tenía muchas ganas de conocer este lugar. Pero me he sentido profundamente decepcionado con el servicio y la falta de higiene (las copas estaban sucias)

El Cangrejo Loco is in the Olympic Port area on the revitalized Barcelona waterfront, revitalized since the 1992 Olympics. It’s a massive cruise ship of a restaurant, with multiple levels, outdoor seating and pictures of all the celebrities who have dined there. I observed a photo of Woody Allen, likely from the filming of Vicky Christina Barcelona and other notables include King Juan Carlos of Spain and Princess Anne of England.
Yes, that’s all fine and good but star power doesn’t necessarily mean good eats.
That is where the stars truly align at El Cangrejo Loco for I had an incredible meal marked by impeccable service. It was the kind of service I’d consider ‘old school’ white glove in the US, where the waiters are distinguished gentlemen who know exactly how to pop a bottle of cava, effortlessly, and can proudly display a grilled whole lobster on a silver tray for your approval.
Unlike the staid echelons of white glove service in the US, however, El Cangrejo Loco is welcoming to all as not a hint of snooty attitude was present. A place that is as welcoming and concerned with presentation and the art of service is a rarity.
There were many restaurants to choose from during our walk from the beaches to the Olympic Port. Cangrejo’s waterfront views and offerings on the «My Way» menu sealed the deal.
At first we weren’t even sure if the restaurant was open as we walked through the interior and didn’t spot a single soul.
What is this «My Way» menu? For 25.50 euros per person you get two starters (1 hot, 1 cold), an entrée and dessert. It’s like restaurant week in NYC with upgrades available.
And regardless of what you order from the menu, you will be presented with pan tomate– bread toasted and rubbed with tomato and garlic and olive oil added too.
The choice of starters varies from day to day. I had my first encounter with cockles, tiny shells housing a piece of protein somewhat similar to a mussel. A smaller shell required less effort and the flavor was rich in garlic. My other starter was thinly sliced octopus, served cold, with a more advanced take on potato salad. Light and delicious, my journey through seafood paradise took a turn towards lobster.
Lobster a la espalda, to be exact, with an upgrade to a whole for 3 more euros. Prepared with chili and more garlic, grilled and served with potatoes, this course was as much fun to disassemble as it was to eat. All the proper tools of lobster consumption were present and the thick white chunks of lobster were overabundant.
Meanwhile, the bottle of cava (think champagne but for reasons of EU origin designation, France has a particular claim to that name) was ready for a replacement just in time for dessert.
Enter crema catalana. It’s similar to crème brûlée but is not prepared under a flame but rather an iron broiler. No need for fireworks here as the dessert stands on its own merit of taste. And I’d like to taste more of it right about now.
Other menu options do exist besides the «My Way» menu, mainly involving seafood but I’d recommend sticking to that menu for the best all around deal. (Unless you wish to skip dessert)
There are meals that come and go, easily forgotten with the passage of time. Based on the location and content, this was surely one that I will remember fondly when I am old, gray and a bit of a crazy crab myself.

El Cangrejo Loco es un restaurante grande, con muchos salones y camareros extranjeros vestidos de blanco que te tratan bien y son profesionales. Aunque es un sitio bonito y cuidado, no es un sitio con personalidad ni encanto, pero es el sitio ideal para cenas de grupos grandes, por ejemplo del trabajo. No había ido nunca y fui con gente de mi anterior trabajo, cenamos el menú My Way (35 euros bebidas a parte) y estuvimos comodísimos. Nos comportamos como el típico grupo: la mitad de la gente llegó tarde, pedimos muchas cañas antes de empezar a cenar, nadie estaba atento cuando traían su plato y pedimos chupitos de postre, vaya, unos clientes encantadores. A pesar de eso se les veía acostumbrados a lidiar con gente como nosotros, nos trataron muy bien, la comida parecía de calidad y estaba bastante rica. Además, en el piso de arriba tienen vistas frente al mar estupendas.

Tolles seafood in allen möglichen Variationen. Dazu passender Wein. Geschmacklich ein echtes Erlebnis, vor allem wenn man aus einem Land kommt, in dem Meeresfrüchte immer nur tiefgekühlt und auf langen Transportwegen in die Lokale kommen. Das lokal selbst liegt an der Küste auf einer Anhöhe und bietet eigene Plätze bzw. Logen mit direktem BLick aufs Meer und den Strand. Einfach ein Traum die Location. Leider (oder doch recht passend?) wirkt die Bedienung allerdings recht hochnäsig und man kommt sich eher geduldet vor, denn als echter Gast im Restaurant. Aber das ändert nichts am Geschmack und der Location, daher 4 Sterne.

Super feinen Fisch haben wir hier gegessen. Tolle Aussicht! Freundliche Bedienung. Vernünftiger Preis.

Cuando algún conocido me pregunta por algún lugar en Barcelona para hacer una paella frente a la playa, a menudo recomiendo El Cangrejo Loco: no puede ser más resultón: la terraza es estupenda y ni las paellas ni los platos de marisco decepcionan y eso qeu al principio uno teme haber llegado a un local para turistas, de paella precocinadas, pero nada que ver. Se trata de un restaurante enorme, con varias terrazas y salones pero aún así muy a menudo es obligado reservar porque está hasta los topes. Una recomendación: la útlima vez que fui probé a cenar y cambié el solecito por la noche junto al mar y la combinación fue perfecta.

Este elegante restaurante abrió sus puertas con motivo de las Olimpiadas Celebradas enBarcelona en 1992. Es miembro del Barcelona Convention Bureau desde su inicio y recibió el premio internacional a la calidad Century International Gold Quality Era Award.
Está situado en el muelle del puerto olímpico y aunque muchos de los restaurantes que lo rodean son muy turísticos por la cercanía de la playa del Bogatell, este es un espacio único con unas vistas espectaculares al mar. Tiene capacidad para mas de 500 comensales, tres comedores, siete terrazas (cinco al aire libre), y varios salones privados ideales para cenas de empresa.
La base de su cocina es mediterránea. La paella es exquisita y tienen una carta de vino extensísima. Aunque no es barato, siempre tienen un menú que se adapta a todos los bolsillos. Recomiendo el menú My Way. Por 24 euros puedes comer dos entrantes (uno caliente y otro frío) un segundo a elegir entre carnes, pescados, arroces o mariscos y postre. La bebida se paga a parte, pero es una muy buena opción para elegir si se va por primera vez.
Ahora además puedes hacerte socio de el club de los cangrejos locos. La tarjeta es gratuita, vas acumulando puntos en tus visitas y luego puedes canjearlos por productos. Un lugar para descubrir.

Por la zona donde se encuentra entre sus platos podemos disfrutar de pescado, marisco, carnes, arroces. Recomiendo la paella y el rape con verduras.
Es un restaurante desde el cual podemos disfrutar de vistas al mar y al puerto.
El menú está sobre los 20 euros, y fuera de él la media está sobre unos 45 euros.

Cadre très agréable…
Restaurant situé au bord de l’eau ! Il dispose de plusieurs salles à manger dont une encore fumeur mais avec un système d’aération… Le restaurant a de grandes baies vitrées qui permettent d’avoir une vue imprenable sur la mer… Côté cuisine, rien à dire… Il y a un large choix autant d’entrées que de plats… Carpaccio de morue, cocktail de crevettes, salade de fruits de mer… La carte des vins propose elle aussi un assez grand choix… Il y a un bon mélange de vins abordables et d’autres plus chers !

Aceptable En El Port Olimpic
Hemos dicho de siempre que los restaurantes del Port Olímpic han perdido mucho respecto a los anteriores merenderos. El Cangrejo, junto a La Fitora y el Rocxi se salvan de la mediocridad sin que, tampoco se puedan «echar cohetes»: buenas alternativas de menús en cuanto a la variación de los precios. Trato justo.

Una buena paella
Situado en la zona del puerto olimpico, no tendreis problemas para ir a tomar una copa después de cenar. Es un restaurante amplio con una teraza grande. Os recomiendo un buen plato de jamón y una paella tradicional (la mejor que he comido nunca). Proponen unos buenos vinos blancos y rosados franceses, y aunque hagan subir la cuenta, el jefe de sala igual os ofrece una botella de cava para acabar los postres. Una buena direccion. Lo único, un ambiente con demasiada luz.
