El Pachuco

This place is outstanding. The nachos here are the best nachos I have ever had in my life. The chips are made right there in the restaurant and loaded with chicken tinga, cheese, guacamole, black beans, jalapeños, tomatoes and MORE CHEESE. Seriously I bring every friend who comes to visit me to this restaurant. The staff is very friendly, speak both english and Spanish, and occasionally will offer you free tequila shots. Very laid back, enjoyable atmosphere.

Great ambiance. Excellent tacos. Smallish space, but the shallow counter is just wide enough for your plate. Interesting ordering system, using a paper checklist. Works well, though the extra water we ordered didn’t make it (we weren’t charged for it though)

Amazing food! The place was packed when I went, cool music, chilled place. Good prices! Definitely can’t wait t become obese by emptying them of all their food!!!

Best Mexican food I have ever eaten (and I am from Southern California and have visited Mexico more than once)! The staff are very nice and everything is made in-​house. It is a TINY place which is a little sad because it’s hard to fit more than 2 at a table. Drinks are delicious. Recommend the chicken nachos and the tostadas. Price is great and serving are large enough to share.

The short version: very good food with fresh ingredients and friendly staff, and English menus for a decent price.
The place is small and a locals spot so you know it’s a good place to eat. However like I said its small like a lot of local non tourist restaurants in Barcelona. they have only two tables but they have two small bars with stools so you can sit while you eat; but it’s going to be cozy.
So hope you aren’t some «I need more personal space, get out of my space.» Type person. Well if you are, then maybe this isn’t the spot for you. Side note: Good luck in life too.
But otherwise the tacos are piled high with meat. The guacamole is a very large bowl and chips are made in the restaurant and are not some bag chip crap. The Pima colada was good and the bartender made too much and she told me if I drink what I had quickly then she topped me off again with the remainder in the blender. So i pretty much got 1 and a half drinks.
So it’s not the cheapest place. But far from expensive.
My only let down was they didn’t have beef! I was Jonesing for beef dammit. So me and my wife walked miles to get here then there wasn’t any beeeeef. So if you want beef, then it’s not your spot.
But the pork and chicken and vegetable food on the menu is great; just once again I wanted beef. That’s really my only disappointment. Would of given a half star more if They had beef and were a little bit cheaper.

Don’t see why it has this rating. Feels like you are in Mexica — eatable, but not special and pretty trashy environment. Kinda nice vibe, but the prices are too high for this experience. Got a beer that was 2 years after expiration date and no surprise from the bar tender or apologies :(

One word: nachos. Get them. Home fried tortilla chips. Mountains of cheese. And so, so much more. Had 3 beers, shot of tequila and the nachos for around € 20. No better way to spend time at this lively little hole in the wall. Go!

We just finished our food. I had to write this review immediately… to capture the exact mood.
We are both stunned. The food is absolutely incredible. So many flavors and so much authenticity. The nachos were absolutely to. die. for.
We also shared the tinga tacos and the chalupas. The tacos were… well…tacos. Awesome tacos, but still «just» tacos. So if you want to experience something unique and special go for the chalupas. Mmmmmm deep fried tortilla.
Also there are like 15 seats in the whole place so prepare to wait and/​or be flexible.
The ladies working behind the bar are super cool and charming.
Please just come here!

Auténticos nachos mejicanos los del pachuco! valen 10 euros y comen dos personas más que agusto porque llevan de todo: guacamole, queso, frijoles, carne…
Tienen poquísimas cosas para comer: quesadillas, tacos y cuatro cosas más pero todo rico.
También es muy famoso por sus cócteles y el precio está muy muy bien.
Pero siendo así es lógico que esté siempre a rebentar de gente y encima es un local enano… Por la noche es misión imposible encontrar sitio!

Good tacos and drinks. Best taco was the one with pork rinds. Busy place so get there early or off hours.

Descubrí este restaurante mexicano gracias a una amiga que vivía cerca. El sitio está en la calle Sant Pau nº 110, entre el paralelo y la rambla del Raval. Es pequeño apenas hay 3 mesas con taburetes y una barra pero auténtico como pocos conozco en Barcelona.

This place is awesome. I don’t know if we were just starving from walking around being tourists all day or what but this was some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. Tacos were good, but the tostadas and the chips & guacamole were excellent.
It’s a casual & fun bar environment. It’s also tiny so push your way in and find a seat. Yes we ate here twice and yes I’d go tomorrow if I was still in Barcelona.

I was born in Southern California so I know my way around Mexican food. El Pachuco is the real deal. It’s been years since I’ve had Mexican food this good. We ordered the nachos, three tacos, and two quesadillas and that was more than enough for two people. The chips for the nachos are not bagged but made in house. Tacos were piled high and had a nice crunch from pork rind bits sprinkled on top. Portions are large and quite welcome in my opinion.
We did not drink but watched a few drinks being made. Everything was made with quality ingredients and most defiantly strong. They have a massive collection of mescal sitting above the bar.
I honestly think I’ve had the best Mexican food in my life here at El Pachuco.

I spent a good 9 months in and out of Barcelona and found this place the first time and have gone back at least once every time since. If you like Mexican food and cocktails you must go here. Everything is good; eat and drink it all. I suggest a michalada and a quesadilla and nachos to share. Tell Pepe Jack from Arizona says hi.

Los mejores nachos de mi vida! Un local informal, banquitos para comer en barras, pedidos en papel. Una carta no muy extensa, pero todo esta delicioso! El personal es encantador. Buenos cocktails! Un must del barrio. Aunque suele estar bastante lleno.

Exactement le genre de restaurant que nous aimons ma chérie et moi, un mec souriant qui te fais a bouffer avec le coeur, c est bon, frais, plutôt copieux, pas écoeurant quoi et pour couronner le tout jolie déco, simple.

Pachuco, es el nombre de las mafías mexicanas, o algo así pude llegar a entender un día que volví a este mexicano.
La primera vez que aterrizé aquí, no tuve una gran experiencia… pero a mi suerte he vuelto muchas veces más, ya que la imagen cambió de local para mí.
Los nachos, donde comen 2 comen 4 ya que su plato en inmenso; y si quieres
probar más cosas de la carta vas a
tener que venir con mucho sitio en el estómago.
Tanto la masa de los nachos, quesadillas o tacos la preparan ellos mismos; primer mexicano que descubro con este detallazo.

After being in Spain for a week, we needed something besides tapas or bocadillos. We needed a taste of HOME – and for us, home is Texas. We were skeptical to try Mexican food in Barcelona, but wow, El Pachuco is good!
The margaritas were made with good tequila, Grand Marnier, and fresh lime juice – a simple recipe that most places in the United States take for granted. The guacamole and salsa was oh so fresh and tasty – and on the house from Fernando – such a nice touch. The Nahos Pechuco were simply delicious. We could have stopped there but curiosity won out and we had the carnitas tacos. Again, fresh and delicious. Well done El Pechuco!

Delicious and great service, what more could you ask for? Try the nachos– I’ve brought many people here and they have all said the nachos are the best they’ve ever had. It would be a huge and unfortunate mistake not to order them– trust me! With that being said be careful the area can get semi-​sketch (meaning that keep your belonging near and dear to you). Once while I was here some old suspicious man came in asking for a beer but left without one and the owner, Pepe, told us that sometimes people do that because they are trying to snatch away a purse or other valuables. Never happened to anyone I knew or myself but just be careful.

It’s easy to order — just mark how many tacos you want on the paper menu! As you can tell by the other English reviews here, it’s pretty friendly to people who might not speak Spanish.

The dude of food wandered in here and was glad he was traveling alone as the place was intimate but inviting.
The short story is the staff is cool, the beers are cold and flowing, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. It is a great place to wander into before or after viewing art at the BCN Painters Route art gallery in Barcelona.

No puedo dar mucha nota a El Pachuco, quizá es que el sitio tiene sus altibajos dependiendo de la noche, pero os contaré mi experiencia allí.
El sitio es chiquitín, hay apenas dos mesas y unas barras con taburetes (la barra principal y una repisa de madera a un lado). Luego tienes una mesa/​repisa en la ventana dónde puedes ponerte en la calle en taburetes y comer en esa barra. Esto sin más, es lo que es, y nosotros un miércoles noche pudimos coger mesa sin reserva (no hacen reservas).
Pedimos nachos pachucos, 3 tacos, 2 quesadillas y sendas micheladas. La michelada es bastante correcta, abundante y no es cara. Quizá le notaba demasiado sabor a zumo de tomate, pero puede ser simple preferencia personal.
Los nachos también abundantes, pero aquí viene la crítica: lo que es el nacho en sí estaba un poco requemado y era muy grande y duro, lo que hacía difícil «dipear» normalmente. Yo le daría un 6 sobre 10.
Las quesadillas MUY buenas, fueron el mejor plato de lejos. Grandes y sabrosas, las disfrutamos realmente.
Los tacos, decepcionantes. La tortilla estaba rígida y no eran muy abundantes. No es que sean de lo más caro, pero vaya, que la calidad dejaba mucho que desear. Deberían cuidar esto, si es algo común.
Lo PEOR: el servicio. Es un lugar dónde apuntas lo que quieres en un papel, y pones tu nombre, y las chicas de la barra te van llamando cuando sale tu pedido. Hasta aquí, bien y nada que objetar.
Lo malo es que las chicas parece que están enfadadas con el mundo: habían dos chicas atendiendo muy tatuadas y con un estilo muy marcado (ningún problema con esto), otras tres comiendo en la barra que parecían sus amigas, pero cada comentario que hacíamos eran correspondidos con secos monosílabos y no vi ni una sonrisa.
No sé si forma parte del estilo de las chicas, pero me hubiera gustado una sonrisa o un gesto amable. Se me quedó grabado como una de ellas gritó el nombre de unos chicos que estaban en la ventana, sujetando el plato en el aire y sin esbozar ni un gesto facial, y cuando el chico le hizo una pregunta sin saber si se refería a ellos, ella se limitó a agitar el plato. Un poquito de amabilidad da propinas!
El precio fue bastante correcto, lo cual es de agradecer. 38 € por lo señalado para dos personas, contando con 4 micheladas en total, no me parece excesivo. Bien, pero mejorar algunos puntos que creo fácil de mejorar.

Me and my friend were searching at Unilocal for a place with Mexican food, and saw that El Pachuco had gotten great reviews! So we got there, and the place was so kozy and the staff were really friendly! We ordered both nachos and tortillas and both were delicious! The place was small and they only had bar-​stoles. Great beer and drinks. Recommended for small parties.

Comida mejicana de siempre cocinada con amor por mejicanos. Eso se nota! Cuando yo fui nos atendió un chico muy majo que nos explicaba muchas cosas sobre los ingredientes y los platos típicos! Vale la pena! Buenos cockteles además de la comida!

Me alegro tanto que me mostraran este lugar… y es que una amiga mía Mexicana, ofendida por el restaurante mexicano «de pegatina» al que había ido días antes, decidió mostrarme este rincón.
Y que agradecida que estoy…
En Pachuco podéis encontrar nachos, quesadillas, burritos… todo ello hecho al momento y realmente con un sabor y una calidad excelente. Las raciones están bien y el precio, más que razonable.
La michelada fue una experiencia casi religiosa, y tan solo os diré una cosa, habitualmente no soy nada fan del aguacate, pero el guacamole de este sitio es una locura.
Si queréis comida mexicana auténtica a un precio razonable, ya sabéis donde ir. Eso si, procurad ir a una hora donde no haya mucha gente ya que el lugar es pequeño y los asientos no abundan!

La última vez que fui la comida no estaba a la altura de las veces anteriores. Guacamole sin sal, sopa que no sabía a nada menos a cilantro, flautas demasiado hechas. Supongo que el cocinero tuvo un mal día pero la verdad es que salimos desilusionados, los cuatro. Por 52 euros cuatro personas comen bien en El Raval, aunque sea un plato de Schwarma y unas cañas. Igualmente volveré para ver si ha sido sólo un error o la cosa se ha ido por el mal camino para siempre.

Conocí el pachuco justo después de haber bailado comosinohubiesemañana en el concierto de una de las mejores bandas mexicanas: café tacvba. un local pequeño, pero cumplidor. La comida está muy buena y las raciones están bastante bien, prueben los sopes, son de muerte.
Los cócteles y las micheladas (para quién guste) están muy buenos! Les recomiendo el cóctel Coco Loco, es excelente!
Cuesta conseguir un mexicano que no sea una farsa total, así que cuando quieran comer rico no duden en intentarlo aquí :)

El Pachuco es un pequeño bar mexicano atendido por un chico y una chica muy majos que mantiene la vibra de su vecina Avinguda del Paral. lel y el barrio de El Raval. Acá encontrarás rock, gente tatuada, intelectuales y demás especímenes de la zona. Ahora bien, lo que importa de verdad: los tragos y la comida! Hay una importante variedad de cócteles y micheladas (la de mango es genial!) preparados con cariño… para comer obviamente hay tacos, flautas, sopes y totopos (nachos). Todo lo que he probado me ha parecido bastante bueno… eso sí, no hay muchas mesas pero lo complementa una barra a lo largo de todo el local.
Fui un jueves tarde en la noche, así que me gustaría volver tal vez a la hora de la comida o más temprano para ver si es más tranquilo!
