El Peix d’Or

Mostrador de pescadería, en el que pides al peso para que te cocinen. Todo tipo de pescado (gambas, sepia, calamares, rape…) que te lo cocinan al momento. Yo he pedido las gambas a la plancha (con ajo y perejil) y el arroz con bogavante, que cuesta 14.50 €. Impecable.

Don’t let the fish-​counter look intimidate you; this is insanely fresh seafood. Just choose your pescado or maricosas by weight and preparation and they cook it to order. There is also a selection of ala carte sides and inexpensive wines to choose from.
We had gambas planchas, fritas de pescadas and maricosas and the daily special, lobster rice. All were spectacular.
This is definitely a secret known by the locals and probably the best meal we had in Barcelona.

En la entrada tienen un puesto como si fuera un mercado. Ahí eliges el pescado y marisco que quieres, lo pesan y te cobran, igual que en el mercado. Desde ahí envían el pescado a la cocina y allí te lo hacen como tu elijas. En un barra al lado pides bebidas, y ya lo tienes todo.
Muy buena relación calidad-​precio. Está todo bueno, pero yo recomiendo el pulpo y las gambas, y también la sepia.
Se come bien, pero no es el sitio para una cena especial, no es demasiado bonito y no te sirven en la mesa, te llaman por un número y tú vas a recoger la comida a una ventanita que da a la cocina.
Yo he ido sobre todo en comidas de trabajo, si no son muy formales para eso sí es recomendable.

Looking for fresh seafood? Well this is definitely the place and best alternative if you want to skip the first-​class restaurant and server! We stumbled on this restaurant when we were strolling on a long midnight walk in Barcelona. There is nothing extravagant or complicated about this restaurant. It’s pretty simple if your looking for great seafood! You can eat fresh seafood for an affordable price without the fancy fees. Try to get there as soon as the doors open because the line gets long quick.
When you first enter Peix d’Or, which translates (Golden Fish) you will have to first check the fresh seafood out. Then choose what you want, along with drinks and pay. After, you will grab a seat at one of the tables and wait until they call your number. There is no server, so you will have to serve yourself. So enjoy!
