Recommended by friends, we visited la bodegueta twice in five days in Barcelona. Classic tapas in a great setting. First visit we sat in the front bar area and scarfed down every tapas suggested by our terrific waiter. We snagged an outside table the second visit and were equally thrilled. We stumbled upon this looking for a cute place to grab some cava and chill. We ended up have several glasses of cava and had to order the patatas bravas with all that cava. The patatas bravas was among the best that we had in Barcelona.
We very much enjoyed the bodegueta to sit inside among a delightful crowd, enjoy the tapas, the cava and the lively staff. I highly recommend stopping in for just a drink or tapas too. Great experience! Cava on…

La Bodegueta is partially underground, so make sure you don’t walk right past it. We sat outside in the middle of Rambla de Catalunya, which is one of my favorite things to do. It was pretty busy at lunch time, but not hard to get a server. We ordered the pa amb tomaquet (bread with olive oil and tomato) just about everywhere we went, and here it was very good. We also got the ham sandwich and it was just too oily for me. It wasn’t something I would order again. The manchego cheese was very good. Overall a nice lunch spot, but I wish I would have tried the croquetas!

This was probably my favorite tapas bar in the city and was a great place to bring parents when they were in town and wanted to try a little bit of everything. They have a wide variety of cheese plates, assorted meat plates, and other unique tapas. This was where I fell in love with croquetas, and I haven’t had a better one since. They have the perfect texture and served hot.
The outdoor seating is beautiful because it is situated on one of the prettier streets in the city and it is less crowded and bumbling that inside. The inside is really crowded and you may have to wait awhile to be seated, which is made more difficult because there is ZERO standing space inside the restaurant. I suggest going when its nice out and eating outdoors.
