Lukumas

I have never been to Lukumas, even if the place have been on my list for a long time because of good Unilocal-​ratings. Still I had the pleasure to try their doughnuts at Syra, (a coffeplace nearby) and therefor this rating is based in the food alone.
I’m not really a big fan of pastries and cakes, and absolutely not of doughnuts. Or I wasn’t. You can imagen I was quite a surprise when Lukumas proved me wrong.
The doughnuts are incredibly tasty, soft and creamy on the inside. They might look pretty on display but it can’t compare to the taste. The white vanilla ones are a true winner and even after one i kept craving more. I’m a changed person, Im officially a lover of doughnuts!
I hope to to visit the actual place next time I visit, and apply an update to the review.

Love this place! It’s a shame I only discovered it AFTER we moved out of Gracia! I prefer these donuts to the donuteria ones. These donuts are moist and oh so good. My favorite is the lemon curd donut!

La pasada semana, decidí hacerme una ruta ecológica por establecimientos de gracia… tenía curiosidad de estos temas. comidas sanas, orgánicas, saludables etc… Cuando zas me tropecé con el famoso Lukumas! Y de golpe me olvide de mi misión orgánica sana y ecológica de alimentación.
Sin dudarlo un nanosegundo entré y pedí dos donuts para llevar uno de canela (te mueressss de bueno) y otro de chocolate con centro de limón (te remueres también) impresionante lo buenos que están por dios bendito.
En cuanto al local pues bien una granja sin más allá, en esta ocasión lo importante de verdad son sus productos no donde se compran.
Si os gusta el dulce ya tardáis en ir.

El sitio es agradable y el personal muy simpático. He estado dos veces, la primera los donuts estaban tiernos y muy sabrosos, hoy están batante más secos. El café es normalito, estilo americano, pero utilizan productos de comercio justo y eso se agradece :)

This place has doughnuts! I decided to try it because of all of the amazing reviews on Unilocal!and found out that it really is pretty great.
It’s a really small space, even though it doesn’t seem like it because of the decorations. The walls are beautiful white linoleum tiles in brick shape. There are two small bars with tall chairs to sit at if you need to sit at a bar, and a communal table. That’s it (now you understand how small it is). Like I said before though, you almost don’t notice how small it is, because it is incredibly charming, like they’ve found the middle ground between classy and homey. The AC is not too high, but a little low for super hot summer days.
I had a strawberry sprinkles covered donut, and honestly it wasn’t very donut tasting, but it was good. You can’t really blame a café shop in Barcelona for not having super authentic donuts, I mean it hasn’t been popular for that long.
The lady who was working when I went in was incredibly nice, and helpful. She didn’t mind me asking probably a few too many questions than I should have.
For all you studiers, I couldn’t find any electrical outlets, but the table is perfect for putting a computer on, on laying work on top of. It also seems really safe in terms of leaving your computer on the table, although to be honest, I would never do that anywhere.
The music is not too loud or too quiet, it’s just right, and also it’s good music in and of itself
People who come in here are both people who live in Barcelona, and tourists, which gives it a great ambiance, especially since the pricing charts are in friendly Catalan.
All in all, satisfactory place, I approve.

Lukumas has been on my list for a while, after seeing the glowing Unilocal reviews and taking a peek at their website I knew I’d have to make the trip up to Gracia for some breakfast one of these days. I am a huge doughnut fan and I was absolutely pleased by these delicious treats, but more than that the shop in general was a delight. The neighborhood is one of my favorites in Barcelona, and I can happily say that Lukumas will absolutely become a must-​do next time I’m up here in the AM.
My friend and I grabbed a spot at the back table and met three excellent, new friends who life just up the road and fell in love with the music the cute guy behind the counter was playing. Sigurose, Fleet Foxes, Arcade Fire + doughnuts + friendly Barceloneses makes this place perfect!

Lukumas significa doughnut en griego, y eso es lo que encontraremos en este pequeño local en el barrio de Gracia.
Su propietario es griego y sus lukumas siguen fielmente la tradicional receta griega.
El resultado es un doughnut dulce (pero no empalagoso) y la textura muy suave. Los encontraremos con coberturas de chocolate, plátano, fresa, azúcar glaseado… y rellenos de mermelada, dulce de leche, chocolate con avellana…
Personalmente, después de haber probado unos cuantos, me quedo con el lukumas clásico, glaseado con azúcar y nada más. Creo que en esa sencillez es dónde más puedo apreciar la diferencia entre los lukumas y los demás doughnuts de siempre.
Si no le pongo 5 estrellas es porque creo que podrían cuidar más el café. Lo sirven en vaso de plástico y no es nada del otro mundo.
La relación calidad-​precio es muy buena.

Understand two things:
1) I was raised on Donut Man donuts (in other words, I so-​humbly consider myself a connoisseur)
2) I don’t have a sweet tooth. I have about 20.
APPARENTLY Spain is less crazy about eating anything too sweet, going out to eat in general, overeating, etc.
So I was quite thrilled to find this little Greek gem to satiate my American-​sized appetite. Grab a little chocolate donut or jelly-​filled one. One covered in powdered sugar or coconut flakes. How about them NUTELLA-​filled donuts? Grab about 5 of those. If none of those sound appealing, opt for one of the many options: chocolate/​strawberry-​filled, glazed, lemon, etc. There’s something for everyone.
It’s very new, modern, and clean in comparison to many of the old and maintained bars and cafes in its historical neighborhood, Gracia. The art and décor changes once in a while, and the man who runs the place is very nice. If you don’t speak Spanish or Catalan, just point and nod and pay and it should work as if you do!
If you’re visiting the city, grab some donuts on your way to Parc Güell and enjoy them with the views of beautiful Barcelona. One of my favorite spots when I lived there!

You can go to Lukumas for two things: 1) to see and even speak to one of the oh-​so-​few Greek small business owners in Barcelona surviving the equally insurmountable Spanish economic crisis, or 2) doughnuts. Named after the Greek…

I can’t say I’m a big fan of donuts but Lukumas has changed that completely for me – I love their filled donuts, and the store is so cute!
Only downside is the hours – ah! Half the time I crave one of their delicious donuts they are closed :(

¡Bienvenidos al templo del masoquismo celíaco!
Aunque llevan abiertos más de un año, no fue hasta hace poco menos de un mes que inauguraron el local como debían: lukumas por doquier, alguna que otra copa y amigos. Amigos suyos, tuyos y míos. Yo quería ir, pero al cruzar el umbral de la puerta decidí que, si ya salivaba en exceso aún sin haber visto sus donuts, quizá era mejor marcharme a dar una vuelta.
Por lo que dicen, venden las mejores berlinas de la ciudad, con gran variedad de sabores y en diferentes formatos. Para mí, sólo un sitio más por el que pasar y maldecir lo que debí hacer en una vida anterior cuyo castigo estoy recibiendo en ésta.

Lukuma acaba de abrir sus puertas en Gracia. Nada más pasar por delante me pare en seco y entre. Es una tienda– obrador que invita a entrar.
Todo tan blanco con una mesa de madera larga al final para poder desgustar unos de sus diferentes dougnouts artesanales.
Me explicaron que lukumas significa dougnouts en griego y que el propietario del local era hijo de un conocido obrador de Salónica. No pude remediarme y hacerme con un clásico, un glaseado que estaba de lujo!!!
Utilizan productos biológicos y puedes o bien llevartelo o bien comertelos allí acompañado de un buen té o café, eso ya va a gustos!!! Tambien lo tienen saladosssss!!!
