Este sitio es grotesco. No apto para menores de 18 años.
No lo digo yo, lo dice mi paladar después de haber hecho el amor con una pieza de sushi (las de la primera foto). Un picadillo de salmón macerado con una salsa extrañamente deliciosa, encima de un pequeño bloque de arroz y acariciado por un manto de tempura. Lo he introducido en mi boca y el resto de la historia es privada, un encuentro fugaz y tremendamente apasionado entre ese sushi y mis papilas gustativas.
Ahora mismo el Matsuri está en mi top de restaurantes japoneses en Barcelona. Y no es porque esté en un subidón post-​orgasmo, es que es así. En este lugar hacen las cosas bien, despacio y con una clarísima habilidad para mezclar ingredientes en unas piezas pequeñas.
Recomendaciones: el Tokyo, Mediterráneo, California y el BARE. ¡Bare mía!

Really fresh sashimi, great ambiance. The standout dish was the Bare roll (chopped salmon with lime juice on a bed of rice) and also the California Especial. But I could see all the rolls being made and they all looked delicious. I went on my own and sat at the sushi bar, pretty attentive service until they got really busy and the place filled up. Lots of people without reservations waiting or turned away by 9:30 pm so come early. I would definitely come again.

By far the best sushi bar to eat fresh authentic sushi in Barcelona. A beautiful little red place tucked in the Gothic Neighborhood. Prepared beautifully and with great detail. Good price overall.

Por ahora el mejor lugar de comer auténtico sushi de Japón en Barcelona. Todo muy fresco y con un bello color. Un lugarcito escondido en el barrio gótico. Al entrar es como un transporte a Japón sin necesidad de pasaporte!

Loved the wait staff, the food was absolutely delicious and very decently priced, and the cava you receive for free from checking in on Unilocal was also quite tasty! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something outside the traditional Spanish restaurant!

Décor/​Ambiance: great, fun, dark and maybe romantic? — AKA good
Service: kind of bad… I will admit that we sat on the «sushi bar» side as opposed to the «restaurant» side of the place, and that could account for the poor service. But, all of the dishes in our party arrived at vastly different times (enough so that my friend had completely finished eating and my meal had yet to arrive), and the waitress was rude-​ish and inattentive. However, the main chef brought out a few dishes and was delightful and fun. He saved the service day as far as I’m concerned.
Essentially, try out the place for some good food, but know that you may be paying a little more and still not be getting the good service that you think you’re paying for.

Absolutely delicious sushi, the quality is as good as any 5 start restaurant. The ambiance is simple and casual so it’s great for a weeknight meal, wouldn’t go for a fun weekend outing though just because the place isn’t overly nice.

Matsuri, como su nombre indica, un auténtico festival!
Durante años se convirtió en el lugar de cenas y celebraciones con un grupo de amigas! Últimamente no voy tan a menudo, pero es un buen lugar cuando apetece comer sushi.
Japoneses de Sao Paulo te preparan de los mejores sushis que puedas probar en Barcelona, y servido con la elegancia y autenticidad japonesa.
Importante reservarse el «betsubara» o el rinconcito en el estómago para el postre, porque aunque en Japón no sea tradición comer postre, los de este restaurante merecen mucho la pena!

By far, the best sushi I’ve had in Barcelona! SO good! I wish I had found it sooner in my 3 month stay.
One of my favorite things with sushi restaurants is a selection of creative rolls. I went to 3 sushi restaurants in the Barri Gottic and only this one had creative rolls. Maybe not a ton, but definitely some cool ones. There was a delicious duck roll and the tempura battered salmon roll was perfect!
Also, if you happen to be from a big city & you’re used to being able to get whatever you want delivered, look no further! They deliver! And they speak English, so it’s perfect for ordering after a long day of strolling the city and you’re in your hotel room and just want something that’s not room service. Trust me, you’ll be satisfied.

Yes, I know, Japanese restaurant in Barcelona, there’s something wrong with me. But being a true Asian I cannot stand more than a few days without rice or noodle, not even delicious Tapas can save me. I’m incurable.
So I ended up here, solely to fulfill my noodle cravings. I ordered Yakisoba and my friend ordered Tom yum soup. To be fair this place is more like Asian fusion with an emphasis on Japanese food and décor. It’s a lovely place, it’s definitely not authentic, nor did I expected it to be.
In the end I got what I needed, a stomach full of noodles. It wasn’t bad, but not very remarkable either.
Good ambience for hanging out and dining with friends, staff were friendly too.

Best Japenese food ever! We were there on New Year’s Eve excellent food and an incredibly friendly service! We’ll be back!

Who flies to Barcelona and eats sushi? I know. What a nutter. But sometimes you just want sushi, and you are in Barcelona, and it is kind of like tapas in a way, so there you go. This place is great and the service is excellent. The special makis are the way to go, they are amazing. I would definitely go back.

Le meilleur restaurant de Sushi de Barcelone, un accueil parfait, le personnel est à votre écoute, le chef parle Français et vous reçois comme le meilleur de ses clients à chaque occasion.
Je suis allé avec ma conjointe en week-​end et en tant que fans inconditionnels de Sushi nous né pouvions nous empêcher de filer à cette adresse qui nous avait été chaudement recommandée par un barcelonais.
Nous avions du mal à nous décider sur les plats, alors nous avons demandé au chef de nous faire découvrir ses mets au travers d’une farandole de plats.
Ce fût un des meilleurs moments de restauration de ma vie (oui, réellement)
Résultat, une quarantaine d’euros par personne pour des sushi d’une extrême qualité (foie gras d’oie, tartare de saumon fait main, divers fromages français, des mélanges d’oeufs d’esturgeon, de saumon, de lump) sur environ une quinzaines d’assiettes, magnifiquement présentées et à en être REPUS, plusieurs déserts, un café, du vin blanc (seul le vin blanc servi au verre était assez médiocre).
Je conseille cette adresse si vous séjournez sur Barcelone et que vous aimez les Sushi

‘PARA DARTE UN HOMENAJE’
Por más sushi que pruebo, mi favorito sigue siendo el que se come de la cubierta de los barcos de Matsuri: nunca pedimos plato; barco para tres, o para dos y una botella de vino blanco, ‘El Perro Verde’, a ser posible. Aun así, he probado allí platos deliciosos. Por 40 euros con el vino cenas mucho y muy bien, vamos, que te llenas de sushi variado. Con sashimi sube más, eso sí. Alessandra, propietaria y amiga, una bellísima y cultísima brasileña, te orienta si, como es mi caso, te pierdes entre tantas posibilidades de sushi fusión. Ciertamente, como comenta Estela C., Matsuri no es un restaurante japonés, ¡pero todos los sushiadictos celebramos su existencia!
Interesante tener en cuenta que tienen servicio de entrega a domicilio, así que si te quieres dar el homenaje de sushi sin moverte de casa, puedes. ¡Y abre TODOS los días!

Que su nombre no te lleve a engaño. Matsuri no es exclusivamente un restaurante japonés. Su concepto va mucho más allá y quiere abarcar parte de la cocina del sudeste asiático –desde thailandesa hasta indonesia — con una clara voluntad creativa.
Quizá el término «cocina de fusión» sea el que mejor se adapte y más justicia le haga. Responsable de ello es el chef Edo Komori, de ascendencia nipona y brasileña, que ha viajado por todo el mundo y quiere trasladar todos sus conocimientos culinarios a la carta de este curioso local.
Por supuesto si quieres cocina japonesa la tienes: sushi perfecto, makis deliciosos, fideos tradicionales, ensaladas variadas… pero lo mejor aquí es experimentar y dejarse seducir por los platos más originales, en los que apariencia y sabor se combinan en platos únicos. Mi favorito es la Rosa de salmón al vapor, cocinada y presentada sobre un lecho de piña y pera confitadas con pimientas rosas. Sí, es tan exótico como parece. Y sabe mejor. La presentación es delicadísima, muy cuidada, tanto que da pena comérselo. Pero hay que hacerlo. Y obviamente no decepciona.
Es un sitio ideal para ir en grupo o con varios amigos, y compartir tablas de sushi o sashimi. El local es amplio y está decorado con un toque exótico con intencionalidad zen. Eso sí, hay que tomárselo con calma porque los camareros, aunque muy amables y atentos, se toman su tiempo.
