Moncho’s House

This place was recommended to us by our hotel when we came in a little late at night and didn’t have much time to go very far. The service is okay and the food is decent.
Two of our favourite dishes were the vegetable tempura and the papas fritas. The papas had just a little bit of heat with a sour cream like dip. Perfect for a summer night in Spain. Honestly, the other dishes we ordered came out a little bland. Another thing I wasn’t to pleased with was that they can’t serve tap water. They do have English menus for non-​Spanish speakers and the severs understand enough English to take orders, but not fluent enough to answer very specific food related questions.
The reason I would give this place three stars is because the food and service need a little more polish. The prices are acceptable. But in my humble opinion it is a tad over priced for the quality of food you get. I would recommend this place for the convenience.

La relacion calidad-​precio-​velocidad está bien muy bien. Para comer algo rapidito al mediodia, perfecto.

Si hay que definir a Moncho’s House con un adjetivo, ese es: RAPIDEZ
Es increible la rotación de mesas conseguida… y es de mucho agradecer cuando quieres comer a mediodía entre reunión y reunión.
El servicio intenta ser atento, aunque entre la marabunta de personal que lo regenta es complicado.
El que sólo se pueda pagar en caja genera colas exasperantes :(
¿La comida? Correcta… el mejor producto que tienen es el jamón ibérico.
Recomiendo: Para desayunar (11h) o para comer si trabajas en los alrededores.

This restaurant was recommend to us by the hotel we were staying at. Awesome food, great service and very reasonable priced. Ask for the Bombay Sapphire, hold the tonic, and you’ll get the biggest pour of gin in your life.

This place rocks.
Inside seating around a bar and separate tables. Cured hams hanging from the ceiling. Outside seating under umbrellas. Directly across Avenida Diagonal from the Hilton Hotel. What is not to like?
Nice big menu and great daily specials. We had some very good food here. Here are what they were: Green beans with an egg — superb.
Pasta with ham — al dente and full of flavor.
Pork chops and potatoes — tender, delicious porkies.
Cold beer, nice wine list and low prices — hard combination to beat. Lots of locals eating here, not many tourists. I read somewhere that they have one or two other locations in Barcelona.

A nice café near the public transportation as well. Fabulous café con leche and one person spoke some English. They have indoer and outdor seating and serve some food as well that we didnt try but looked good in the case.
