Very good, high-end restaurant in an upmarket hotel. We both had the classic tasting menu which was about 8 courses of really interesting dishes, impeccably timed and coming in a great order. Matched wines were also very good, though the size of the pours was on the smaller side. It is not cheap(€ 300 for two) — you have to really want that kind of meal for it to be worth it and there may be better value options out there e.g. Eatwith.

Do not book on ! They sent a cancellation email 15 minutes prior to the reservation time. We didn’t get the email and showed up on time. Luckily, the restaurant had a no show, and we were seated after about 10 minutes of waiting on whether or not they would give up the table. The restaurant is lovely. Located in the back of the hotel lobby, behind the bar area. The restaurant has an open kitchen, and a nice garden behind a glass wall. Service was very attentive. Our bread plate was often refilled, and my boyfriend and I even joked that we had to leave a little bite of bread on our plates so as not to receive a brand new slice that we didn’t want. We ordered one of the tasting menus(the less expensive one). Raw mackerel dish was excellent and refreshing Ravioli with shrimp, topped with foam and a fish head was rich and tasty Cod was topped with popping boba that was filled with carrot juice — so cool! Suckling pig here was a bit rich for my taste, served with an acidic sauce and avocado purée. We had suckling pig at Gaig, which served it with fresh strawberries. I found that to be a better dish. Their golden egg dish was best thing ever! Gold colored caramel«egg» which you crack open to reveal a raw yolk over corn nuts. Salty, sweet, everything wonderful in the world! Cloud, guava purée and ice cream topped with cotton candy, was so delicious and beautifully presented — just like a cloud! Chocolate forest dessert was meh for me. I’m not big on fudge, and this was a fudge dish with some fruits, purees, and ice cream. It looked gorgeous, though. Tray of turrons for dessert were a good variety of fruit and chocolate flavors. The only downside was that it took about half an hour to get the bill because their computer was broken. I’m not sure why we couldn’t have just been rung up with manual math. The food, however, was incredible. Do not miss the Golden Egg!

Spectacular food with a great ambience. This is where you should go to in Barcelona and experience this incredible molecular gastronomy. My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Omm — amazing hotel, and the restaurant is just at the ground floor. We ordered Joan Roca Menu and it began with cucumber and tomato soup with olive sorbet. The next course was excellent — mackerel with the celery noodle just placed on the bottom. The mackerel was perfectly cooked and very soft, with a soft creamy flavor of the flat and thin noodle. Oxtail and Palamós prawn ravioli has got to be my favorite course in the menu. The prawn is perfectly cooked, I reckon it must be tricky to have it just perfectly cooked like such — accompanied with oxtail wraped in a ravioli. It was very delicious because it had the juice/liquid that is filled with the rich taste of the oxtail, and it was beautifully tender and words cannot describe how delicious it was. Wild turbot with the lentils cream and curry was a very interesting yet an excellent one — the accent of the curry was really the highlight of this course. It really gave it a kick because it was something different from the rest, let alone it was a great complement with the soft texture of the turbot. The duck with apple, cider and calvados was rich in my taste buds, working really well with the sweet sauce which was a great balance between the two opposing tastes; sweet and the savory taste of the duck. Lastly, we finished our menu with 2 delicious deserts; pear, lemon and thyme & chocolate, red fruits and flowers. For me, chocolate, red fruits and flowers is my favorite dessert which was served last. It was the perfect taste because it was the combination of chocolate and fruits, a little bit sour but mostly sweet, and the flowers which made the whole dessert have an earthiness sort of taste. Loved the presentation — it almost looked like a beautiful messy garden. The presentation alludes to the taste and definitely is a magnificent one.

Wow, this is what living is all about folks. We made reservations for Roca Moo so that we could visit during our vacation that included a stay in Barcelona. We were not disappointed. The food and the service blew us away. We chose the tasting menu with the wine pairing and delighted in the variety of the courses and perfectly paired wine. Maybe 6 courses? I lost count. The service was impeccable. They were attentive but not hovering and were there to move us to the next course with perfect timing. Go visit this one Michelin starred restaurant.

Highly recommended as being a must try in Barcelona, I was excited to experience the culinary creations and ambiance of this restaurant. Warmly situated within an open area of a hotel(literally in the lobby), we were met with a pleasant greeting and promptly seated. We placed our order(which included drinks… both for the starters and entrees) and took in the refined lighting and décor. As a procession of complimentary amuse style plates began arriving at the table… we were delighted. 5 stars. We chose to order a la carte and were visually and aromatically impressed with the first dishes as they arrived. The duck was prepared and seasoned very well… however the risotto-ish rice dish featuring crayfish, mushrooms and artichoke was over salted and inedible. A shame as each component was prepared well on its own. 4 stars. As our entrees arrived, we had long since finished our wine and were expecting the second round… but had to flag down someone to then re-take our order? The entrees were alright. The pear/lemon/thyme dessert was fantastic. And then we sat… empty wine glasses, dirty plates. And then we waited… noticing that there were more servers than diners(as they chatted amongst themselves). And then we looked at our watches… until finally getting up and asking for the check. 3 stars. As a traveler and lover of food from all walks of life… it’s easy to recognize people that take pride in what they do and have a passion for excellence. This is not one of those places.

I got food poisoning here! we had their lunch menu and started with the lobster carpaccio, then seafood soup(my cousin had the quail and risotto), and then we both had the turbot(type of white fish). The fish was delicious. About 2 hours later, I vomited 5 – 6 times over the course of 1 – 2 hours. Needless to say, I am unimpressed and blame it on that soup(sellfish velouté is what the menu says). The soup was not very good, it had a variety of seafood, mussels, clams, squid, but it was like drinking sea water(strong sea smell). I’m disappointed in this Michelin restaurant.

The dining room is beautiful and spacious. The menu is fun, imaginative and expertly plated. My husband’s seasonal tasting menu with wine pairing was perfect. Unfortunately my experience was not good. My starter omelette with mushrooms and white Catalan sausage was divine. My cod entrée was raw, which I wasn’t expecting. Be prepared to be snubbed if you do not order the suggested wine pairings. I had trouble getting the wait staff’s attention and wasn’t checked on during dinner ATALL! The attitude of the sommelier and waiter soured my experience. Save your 180 € and eat anywhere else.

We were seated promptly for our reservation. I think we dealt with 4 different employees during our meal, and they were all extremely friendly. We would make small talk and light jokes, and they would join in. It was pleasant. We did the tasting menu and I couldn’t believe the flavors and how amazing everything was! It was neat to sit and watch the chefs do their magic. They have a great system. They were very efficient with timing of the meals. I lost count and couldn’t believe it when they’d bring out another set of silverware. Never ending it seemed. And they would make sure your wine glass was never empty if you purchased a bottle. Everything about this place amazed me. Definitely expensive, but definitely worth the splurge.

Stellar restaurant, especially for vegans. All of my dishes were created especially for me even though I ordered from the prix fixe menu. The food was delicious, the service was great and the ambiance was very romantic. It is a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion.

Food was superb. Service was typical in Barcelona… very slow. It’s a different approach to service. That aside, the meal was heavenly.

5 stars for service 5 stars for setting 5 stars for being experimental 5 stars for a well-curated menu 5 stars for the selection of wines What you won’t find: the standard typical spanish food. and that’s a very good thing. What you will find: a thoughtfully planned and presented rotating menu with unusual ingredients & combinations. Was this the best I’ve had in Molecular gastronomy? No — I’ve had better. Is Moo for everyone? No… Unless you have the budget and want to try something completely different. It is very expensive. And the portions are small. That said, the prices are appropriate considering the whole. It is a meal to experience. Food as(edible) art. side note — I can’t have dairy. But these dishes were worth the risk of a breakout… I mean, when am I ever gonna have the chance to pair«pigeon carpaccio with juniper berry ice cream again??? Did I love every bite? no. some of the items I tried were not to my liking — but I give them credit for the effort. If I were to give a rating based on how much I enjoyed the food, taking away all the external factors, I’d give Moo a 3.5 — good, but not great. But as explained above, Moo earned the 5 stars for the whole package. I can’t deduct a star because the food was not to my personal liking.

This was definitely a 5-star fine dining experience! We passed on the tasting menu and ordered a la carte, but we got the wine pairings with each course. Brilliant — the sommelier was excellent, especially considering that he was communicating with us in English. I loved my crawfish«paella» — a nontraditional version to be sure, but by far the most flavorful rice dish we had in all of Spain. Fish for both main courses was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and my «Trip to Havana» dessert — consisting of rum cake, mojito granita, and a frozen chocolate cigar that actually managed to have a delicious tobacco flavor — was out of this world. I am generally a bit skeptical of anything in the«molecular gastronomy» arena, but Moo exceeded all of my expectations. Well done.

What??? This place only has 3 stars? OMG. My husband and I had dinner here on our honeymoon. We had the 10-course chef’s tasting menu with«wines that harmonize.» I don’t remember the name of all the dishes but I remember they were so unique and fun to eat! When we were seated they gave us bread that was not memorable. I don’t remember it but I have a pic. One of the 4 appetizers was a little pork sandwich that was amazingly good. Then they served a caramelized«apple» that had foie gras mousse inside. There was no apple, it just looked like one. The next course was Ensaladilla rusa and it had a lot of good stuff. Then there was cod’s macaroni leek soup — there was no macaroni, it was just shaped like a macaroni. After 7 courses, we finally had the first of three main dishes — sea bass with yogurt, gentian, asparagus, and lemon peel. The second main dish was Pigeon Royal(yes, pigeon) with leek soup. I was really full and drunk by then. They were generous with the wine with each course… but we weren’t not done eating and drinking yet! For dessert #1 we had something with cheese and honey in a cute little glass container. For dessert #2 we had strawberries with balsamic sorbet. Dessert #3 was chocolate and some kind of bitter orange. We thought we were done after dessert #3 but when they served tea, they gave us more chocolate. And more… and more. and more. OH man oh man what an extraordinary meal! It was more memorable to me than the beautiful buildings of Barcelona.

My friend and I came here for lunch at the recommendation of a friend. Let’s get right down to the problems: Both entrees were botched and the maitre d’ handled it abhorrently. My turbot had exceedingly hard, scale-like material on the skin. I was told this was a «parásito» that lives naturally on the skin of the fish. Firstly, there is no «parasito» or symbiotic creature of turbots that I’ve found on google. Yeah, I googled it. Secondly, a restaurant of this caliber should know how to prepare their fish. I realize everyone makes mistakes and I would have been happy had they owned up to it. Instead they offered excuses, and then tried to convince me to order a different entrée. After an unnecessarily long debate, the chef finally decides to send out another entrée, sans skin. Seriously? Are you that doubtful of your own ability to prepare fish? My friends veal was a horrific cut littered with inedible tendons throughout. After the way the maitre d’ handled my entrée, she decides just to excise the tendinous parts. Also, the dessert«strawberries and cream» had three strawberry halves. It was mostly strawberry jello that wasn’t even that good. Please see uploaded photos. Sadly I didn’t take a close up showcasing the botched fish, only the skinless one. We had way better at Alkimia and Sauc.

Ate at Moo on the recommendation of our go to person at our hotel, they were right on. Our evening was enjoyable, comfortable and everything we tried was wonderful. I did the gourmet tasting menu and my companion did the seasonal. Starters were brought out consisting of different deconstructed nibbles and some little mojito flavored bubbles which popped in your mouth. Beautiful Golden Egg, brittle shell with lovely filling, Pigeon Carpaccio paired with an amazing Jerez. Palamino Fino, Bread tray offered through out the meal with fresh hot rolls and herb coated crispy breads, course after course followed with standouts being an offering of red mullet perfectly cooked crispy skin stuffed with cherry tomatoes, prawns coated in a batter with shavings of crispy pig trotters, it melted in your mouth. The wine pairings were excellent and perfectly accompanied the food. The service was friendly, not stuffy and the tables were far enough apart that you could feel very private, all in all a wonderful experience. This is in the Hotel Omm fairly central location. Would go back

Moo was my first experience in the world of molecular gastronomy as well. I really enjoyed it. The flavors and texture were really unique. It also probably helped that I have geeked out on every episode of Top Chef ever. My mom and I both had the Season Tasting Menu and my dad had the gourmet. I tried a taste of the Golden Egg from the Gourmet menu, which tasted a little like super savory Chex mix. The foie gras and vanilla oil in the caramelized«apple» was very unique. The chicken canneloni was probably my favorite. The codfish and the pig were both really good as well. And the dessert had a violet gelee in it, which I am a sucker for. This was a very amazing experience. However, it’s only getting 4 stars because some of the textures threw me off a little bit. Definitely a fun place to hit up though.

¡Y no penséis mal! No bebo te. Ahora que si lo llego a saber… igual me lo hubiera pedido.

delightful, spacious modern European restaurant on the ground floor of trendy Hotel Omm. deservedly scoring a Michelin star, this ambitious joint puts together a selection of sophisticated tasting menus, including an optional matched wine selection, featuring some great ingredients and taste combinations. the setting is a good balance of buzz and space, allowing uninterrupted conversation with dining companions. service was decent(better if you speak Spanish!) and the initial introduction of courses from the wait staff ceased about half way through the service, leaving us to speculate on the latest concoction delivered. wine selection good, though a little on the expensive side. the mushroom with fois gras and sugar apple and candy floss were highlight courses. overall, definitely worth a visit, but better on expense account, since you can easily go EUR150 a person(hence my 4 rating rather than 5 for value).
