The Box

This was a really cool restaurant in the Gothic District of Barcelona. The place had tons of different type/​flavours of booze on the wall. Cool look. The hot dog was good but not great. It has the capability to be GREAT however. The menu was designed that you can create any type of hot dog you’d like. I’d go back & give it a try but I’d be more clear on what I wanted to be on my Dog.

Very interesting (and delicious!) assortment of homemade flavored runs and vodkas. Was more Dominican /​Caribbean than Spanish, but nonetheless super fun!

One of the best bar we ve been to in one week in Barcelona.
The «latin street food» is just delicious, and cheap, cooked in front of your eyes: burritos, nachos, quasadillas…
The cocktails are both original and so good, and cheap as well.
The 2 owners (the french bartender and the colombian cook) very friendly and welcoming.
To finish, the bar itself is very well decorated and colorful /​lightful
At the end of the day, just go there and make your own opinion, it s definitely worth it !

My adult sons and I saw that The Box was one of the top rated stops while in Barcelona and searched it out. We were glad we had the address because it is tucked away but we had an absolutely delightful evening with the friendly owners discussing our family’s San Diego restaurants and the differences in Barcelona. The hotdogs were delicious and the drinks were fabulous with lots of unique choices to try. The ambiance is fun and it was a great spot to visit and chat with the owners. We will definitely go back!

You would think that a great Mojito for 3,5 Euro is not possible, but this man can do it! He mixes you an awesome Mojito for a very good price! It has everything it needs + the special ingredient you normally use on Cuba. You can feel someone here loves his job.
The flavored alcohols in the cupboard make a great impression and the Nachos with Guacamole have been good, too.
I would gladly come back here anytime.

Curioso bar en medio del casco antiguo. En que puede destacar un bar en el centro, repleto de tascas, restaurante y bares de similar oferta?
Pues este bar lo que tienes es una estantería llena de diferentes licores, orujos, aguardientes… todos caseros! De sabores ni me acuerdo, y no por la cantidad que deguste sino por la gran variedad que tiene (un ejemplo: aguardientes con mango y jengibre, wow).
Los precios me parecían mas bien elevados para lo que es, pero no por ello este bar es curioso. Vale la pena probarlo

Coolest place in barcelona!
The bartender and owner is super friendly and kind and makes the most unique rum ever! So many flavors and so individual!
It really made our night trying the different flavors like cinnamon, cucumber, lime, lavender, ginger. Everything was fresh fruit or spices and definitely exceeded our expectations!
Atmosphere here is the best we’ve been to yet. Awesome lighting, music, people and conversation. I would say it’s a must see:)

Nice cocktails, fabulous atmosphere! A real gem of a bar tucked away in the old town that we were lured into by its warming rosy glow and the smiling happy people inside. We pulled up a couple of stools at the bar and got comfy, whilst eyeing up the surroundings. The shelves across the back wall of the bar are full of large sweetie jars, each one a different flavour rum or vodka, like a boozy pic’n’mix shop. The guy and girl behind the bar are also both total hotties which helped the view! The guy had a friendly chat with us in Spanglish whilst preparing some more tropical themed drinks — I’ve never seen someone hack into a coconut quite as nonchalantly as him, it was quite special. We spent a very happy hour sipping on caipirinhas (there’s a heavy rum bias to the menu) and enjoying the music and fun laidback vibe. Well worth popping in :)

Really good rum cocktails! Try the ones in the coconut. We came here twice and liked the environment. Small place but very welcoming.

Mojitos deliciosos pela metade do preço (até as 22) atendimento dedicado e simpático. Cervejas baratas e atmosfera super convidativa (mesmo se você estiver sozinho, como foi o meu caso). O cachorro quente «criollo», com um molho die abacaxi especial, é imperdível.

Had a bit of a rough start to our dinner here, but the owners went above and beyond to correct the mistakes. My boyfriend had one of the hot dogs and I had the quesadillas. You can tell everything is prepared with love and has a delicious southern comfort, street food quality to it. I had a lovely chat with the woman who owns it (who shares my love of Sperrys) and I’m excited for the future of this establishment. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m in Barcelona.

So happy we stumbled across this place tonight! A French man and Colombian woman run this joint, and they do so fabulously! Great, warm hospitality, delicious drinks and tacos that totally hit the spot. Laid back atmosphere, and laughs all around! Tip: they are still cash only for now

Adorable little bar with the two nicest people running it. Don’t take my word for it, just go check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Todo un descubrimiento que abrio hace apenas un mes y medio!
Regentado por una chica colombiana, y un chico francés que son un encanto!
Antiguamente había un bar de los de toda la vida, pero han hecho una remodelación espectacular.
Una barra bien larga, y 5 o 6 mesitas bajas para 4 personas cada una.
Cañitas a 1,80 €, pero sin duda lo mejor son las empanadas colombianas, hechas con harina de maiz, probamos las de pollo, y las de carne quedan pendientes!
Luego tenian las Bombetas, hechas por ellos mismos, con una carne picada de ternera aliñada riquisima. Todo ello acompañado por un vaso de chupito con una salsa muy sabrosa, identificamos cebolla, tomate, pimientos, puerros… y se notaba el cariño de hacer las cosas a fuego lento.
Volveremos seguro, que habrá que probar los cocktails, o alguno de los bocadillos!

En Venezuela es tradición ir a por unos perritos calientes luego de una larga noche de bares y copas, costumbre que no he podido hacer acá… hasta que apareción The Box! Un local con mucho sabor en pleno Barrio Gótico que sirve comida hasta que cierran a las 2:30 de la madrugada, atendido por una chica colombiana y un chico francés, los dos muy simpáticos.
Las influencias suramericanas se notan en los hot dogs y los clásicos patacones (tortillas de plátano macho fritas con queso, carne o pollo, etc); mientras que la francesa se hace sentir en los bocadillos. En la carta hay varios estilos de perritos y también puedes prepararte el tuyo a tu antojo, partiendo de un precio base para el pan y la salchicha para luego agregar los ingredientes que quieras por 0,20 o 0,30 céntimos cada uno. Yo probé uno con salsa de piña y queso latino espectacular… ya quiero volver para probar los otros!
PD.- También sirven cócteles y demás bebidas… que no todo es puro comer!

Fui por recomendacion de unos amigos y la verdad es que sali feliz!!! Atencion magnifica, local pequeño y acogedor. Una pareja dispuesta a ayudarte y recomendarte que pedir: aqui puedes elegir unos perritos clasicos o mas «gourmet» con tomates secos o gruyère. Queso latino, bacon, maiz, guacamole y muchas mas opciones. Tambien hay patacones y de postre un delicioso pastel. El precio muy accesible, con 5 € te comes un perrito y una bebida.
Si eres venezolano y lees esto te lo resumo: perros bien resueltos. ;)
