Where do I start to explain how disappointed we were. The restaurant was recommended from friends in Madrid who love it. So we went.
In short, the service was a disaster, and we felt price gouged. I’ll explain.
The bartender took pride in crafting his Gin & Tonics, yet with only a shot glass of gin, he diluted the drink with almost a full bottle of tonic. One in my party had a straight gin martini with the same gin selection (and volume), and received a 8 euro surcharge. No tonic, no rosemary, no bay leaf and they charged more. A true ripoff.
Our waiter delivered a nice bread selection to the table — beautiful presentation. But never informed us that there is a 2.5 euro/​person charge for bread! I did see it in small print on the menu, long after we had enjoyed the bread. So that’s another 7.5 euros for 3 people. Another ripoff.
Our 1^st waiter disappeared after placing our order, and a very nice waitress showed up. We ordered a pizza to share as an appetizer before dinner. That never came, but an entrée did. After sending the entrée back, we waited another 20 minutes for a mediocre pizza to arrive. Nothing special and certainly not worth ordering unless you enjoy a wet crust that collapses when you pick it up.
They did provide a nice gazpacho soup to start which was delicious. As was the ceviche which was served with fried seafood. Strange but good.
Overall, Toto is a beautiful restaurant with some serious service issues and price gouging. The manager was excellent, working hard to trouble shoot and seemed to be doing quite a bit of that. Maybe the staff is new, but I definitely would not go back.
When the bill arrived, they did tell us that they weren’t charging us for the desert we ordered to share due to the service issues.
There are many fantastic restaurants in Barcelona to choose from, and this should not be one of them.

Good Negroni cocktails. Barmen know what they do, and they make epic drinks. Go here if your want a proper old fashioned proper cocktail in Barcelona. Your grandad would approve.

Fantastic cocktails and delicious food. Seemed there was a happy hour because my drink was listed as 8,50 euros and ended up as 6,50 on the bill, which was a nice surprise! Great atmosphere and good service. Our server was kind enough to let our group pay the bill in separate chunks. Pizza was pretty good — not amazing but very good. Hot olives as an appetizer was delicious

Muy bonito el local y la comida está bastante bien. Una pena que el camarero que nos atendió se cargó todo lo bueno. … Y eso de cobrar el pan así no quieras, no me parece correcto, sobretodo si te cobran 2,5 € por cabeza.

Entramos porque nos sedujo la decoración y no nos equivocamos.
Teníamos ganas de tomar unas copas y cócteles y terminamos pidiendo una pizza, que estaba buenísima.

He passat x davant i m’ha donat bon rotllo. Música de jazz i ambientació molt xula. Només he fet un tallat pero quin tallat! Böníssim ! Un dels millor que he tastar mai. Els còctels tenen una pinta buff… tornaré aviat a tastar els còctels jiji

Fabulous Dinner!!! I had the delicious tasting menu and highly recommend it! I couldn’t finish each plate, but definitely save room for a tasting of each and the apple pie in the end. Service was great as well. My favorite was the fig salad which was the first part of the tasting menu. Would definitely come back on my next visit to Barcelona.

One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. Did not expect much upon arriving in the taxi, but once I entered the décor is near perfect. Quality furnishing, amazing Italian food, overall the best Italian place in Barça in my opinion.

This is by far one of the top three Italian restaurants I’ve been to in my life!
And there is no traditional Italian Menu, it is all new things that shows there is a creative chef behind the wall. And it is not that fancy creative food, it is creative comfort food, that you just can’t stop eating.
I highly recommend sharing everything, the menu is full of great food.

Woah. This place was incredible, so good we actually went back two nights later. It was very close to our hotel and got good reviews so we decided make a a reservation and check it out.
We were actually greeted by the manager/​owner and were seated immediately and even asked if the table location was good enough for us. They brought out a complimentary bread basket with three types of bread and the best olive oil with a rosemary garnish. We ordered a bottle of wine and sampled it first. We ordered the beet salad and prime rib for two. The beet salad was so good we got it the next time we went and even recommended it to the table next to us. Before our main course came out our waiter brought us out complimentary gazpacho. The prime rib came on a cast iron skillet so we were able to finish the meat to our liking. We even got dessert, we asked the waiter what kind of cheese cakes he had and he said one moment i’ll show you and came back with two full pies in his hands.
As the service goes, lets just say at one point I stood up to go to the bathroom and my phone fell on the floor before I could even reach down the manager was handing it to me. Another time the breeze blew the window in and almost knocked over a glass the manager ran over and not only locked our window shut but shut every other window. I shook the managers hand both times as we were leaving.
Just make a reservation even if it is not busy because they reserve the better tables further in the restaurant with a view of the open kitchen or else you’ll kind of sit near the bar area and not really in the heart of the place. And if I had to make one critique is that our red wine was served in a white wine glass. The place is a little pricey about $ 100 for a couple, but it is well worth it.

the food was decent at Toto — nor worth the price that they charge you for it. The service was ok — took more than 5 minutes to be greeted and a drink order taken.

Walked over to toto because it was close to our hotel and seemed like a great place. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly host. The restaurant has a great NYC/​SF feel to it and the décor is eclectic and modern.
Food was wonderful and a army of chefs prepared them fresh and fast as we ordered. Taste was on par and staff was friendly and accommodating.
Definitely a place we would return to again and enjoyed for lunch.

Had lunch at Toto and I have to say, it was probably the best meal I had while in Barcelona! We ordered tapas and every single dish was amazing! The sangria was fabulous as well, generous portion and they even garnished it with a fresh pansy! Fantastic food, beautiful presentation and excellent service!

A great dining experience. The bruschetta was amazing, very one of a kind and must order. The service and atmosphere also added to the experience in a positive way! A great place for anyone to go while visiting Barcelona!

We went here our first night in Barcelona. We started out with a few tapas that were tasty but not memorable. The most memorable dish I had was the lamb which was absolutely scrumptious. Our waiter was a bit dingy and brought us olives instead of what we had ordered. I would definitely recommend but wouldn’t go if you had few nights in the city.

Excellent ambiance if you like elegant, charming and fun. The food is fantastic without being your stereotypical italian food. Make it a fun friday dinner plan.

Das is né BAr sag ich euch. Herrlich. Die Kellner alle super nett. Ich war dort mit meinen 3 Freundinnen, wir hatten einen spontanen Kurzurlaub gebucht.
Die Weinkarte lässt keine Wünsche offen und auch das Essen war hervorragend. Und glaubt mir, es ist nicht leicht, ein Restaurant für unsere verschiedenen GEschmacksrichtungen zu finden =)
Ich würde hier jederzeit wieder herkommen. Alles sehr heimelich, modern, eine große Bar, schön warm beleutet.

The dishes here are fresh, creative and absolutely delicious, blending Italian and Mediterranean tastes. The kitchen is open so you can watch as the chefs grab ingredients from the counter, and craft the dishes. We ordered a bunch of the dishes to share, which I highly recommend doing so you can try as many as possible. The cauliflower and the gnodi were exceptional, but I didn’t love the pizza. The service is excellent.

Employing a dark glam backdrop accented by industrial pieces, Toto’s dining space could only be described as a Euro bistro set amidst a factory floor. Somehow this works, and I can’t explain why.
We, a party of 15, was seated at 9 PM with no fuss; service was unexpectedly prompt, too. It could because it was a Wednesday.
Portion size was less of an issue as I was taken by the delicately memorable flavors of my clam linguini and the fried peas opener. Clearly much effort has been given to their design and preparation. My table would not have disagreed.

Gorgeous, unique interior design, absolutely AMAZING food! No secret: the waiters aren’t overly accommodating. Come in ready to explore, make your selections, sit back and enjoy the food, people & atmosphere. If you need to be pampered while eating, perhaps consider going elsewhere

Great Italian food with a Spanish twist. The marinara sauce in the pasta dish we had was simply superb, as was the roasted lamb. Enjoyed the service — polite and helpful even with the language barrier. (some reviewers below found the service to be stand-​offish, but that’s just the European flavor of service :-)).

Horrible service, although good food, no management or supervision of the lazy staff — bartender and waiter should join the ranks of the unemployed — I spoke with the manager, who apologized and basically said it’s hard to find good waiters in Barcelona, which seems ridiculous given the unemployment rate in Spain. Don’t waste your time here when there are far better restaurants in this lovely city !

Good food, bad experience with waiter and bartender — went to bar to pick up beer — bartender offered me some to taste, which was nice but then told me, that he will bring beer to the table — never happened. We got out main course — waiter was not interested in asking why I don’t have my drink in front of me (water ordered never showed up either), or even checking later, if everything is ok. Once we paid, we had to ask twice for change — overall service sucked and food not as good to make up the difference…

The food here was innovative and delicious. The service was a little stand-​offish, but generally nice. The pasta and fish dishes we had here were really good. The salad was also quite tasty and something we might try to recreate at home. Like many of our other favorite restaurants in Barcelona, this wasn’t necessarily «spanish» food, it was just wordly delicious food. You can make reservations online. Definitely do that!

Primera visita a este bistrot moderno, sito en un pequeño trozo de la Calle Valencia, entre Balmes y Rambla Catalunya, que se está convirtiendo en todo un referente para foodies: Dolso, Cornelia and Co, Crustó y ahora Toto. Este primer encuentro fue ayer a la hora del afterwork, ese momento que sales del trabajo saturado y que se puso de moda gracias a series de culto norteamericana como «Ally McBeal», en la cual se juntaban jefes y empleados en perfecta comunión limando asperezas al calor de un buen cóctel en la barra de un bar. (aquí lo llamaríamos «irnos de cañas» mismamente)
El local tiene un decorado muy parisino y ya por ello me gusta.
Espero ansioso encontrar la oportunidad para volver a cenar porque dentro de la cocina a la vista tiene un rincón con una prometedora brasa encendida para verduras, pescados y entrecôtes, ¡ñami!
