Consistently the best burger in town! There are other good burgers places, but Rick & Carolyn’s is by far my favorite. Get the Big Bacon Cheeseburger. It comes with a delicious, well-seasoned 10oz patty. The fries are great too, and hand-cut. Free ice cream with the meal.

I don’t really think the $ 9 price tag for a cheeseburger, fries and a drink is justified. But that’s not to say this place doesn’t rule. It does! This a burger worthy of the Texas seal of approval. Always comes out hot and fresh, warm, soft bun, crisp veggies, delicious, juicy patties that you can tell are hand-formed. The fries are fresh, cut in the store and fried nearly perfect. A little greasy, but if you’re out for a cheeseburger and fries you aren’t exactly being health conscious anyway. The fries are legit, man! Douse em with the Louisiana hot sauce they provide and they are pretty dang righteous! The combo comes with a soft serve ice cream, which adds more value to the high priced meal but I never eat it anyway. It gets busy, but don’t let the crowd scare you. They’re here for a reason. It sounds like a cliché, but Rick & Carolyn’s really do make delicious, homemade style burgers like grandma would fix!

We called in the order, two burgers with cheese, bacon and all the fixings, two regular fries and one burger with meat and bread only. Get to the window to pick it up and one of the burgers is missing. The kid at the eindow argues that we didnt order a third burger, we know we did, he argues again that we didn’t. We finally have to wait for them to cook the burger even though we called it in 15 minutes ago. We get home and the two burgers in thd bag are wrong. They don’t have bacon or cheese and one burger has nothing at all. After arguimg at the window about our order the kid at the window appears to have given us the WRONG order. So now he was not only rude but he didn’t even grab the right order. I love the burgers at this place but we won’t be going there again.

Both burgers had long black hairs in them. The manager who has long lack hair loosely in a braid declares its not hers. She did give money back but it’s gross.

Abilene staple for years. I do wish they would expand to more than soft serve ice cream. Something hand crafted. Had the special(big bacon deluxe) which is always good and a good value. One thing about the daily special, if you add of delete you lose the savings. So if I didn’t want cheese, it’s not the special anymore — kinda rigid. I don’t like that in a restaurant.

I’ve been to the Rick & Carolyn’s up on Ambler a couple of times — great experience and good food. Unfortunately, I went to Rick & Carolyn’s on the south side of town(Buffalo Gap) and was a little disappointed. Went through the drive-thru and when I got to my office, found that may order was incorrect. I also asked for cheese on my burger and quickly found that it wasn’t even melted. The first couple of times I visited this south side restaurant I was pleased, but my past few experiences have been sub par.

Had it yesterday. They were packed, I was craving a bacon cheeseburger, and that was the daily combo special. All stars aligned for something potentially amazing. From a presentation standpoint everything looked good, but the burger was incredibly bland and was in dire need of some salt or other seasonings. As it was, they included no salt, pepper, or catchup with my Togo order and the burger suffered because of it. The meat patty was big I do have to say Next time I’ll likely just hit the Chili’s Togo, at least you know what you’re getting. I like to support local businesses, but they have to put out a comparable or better product than the chains. I may return for the chicken fried steak dinner which sounded pretty good, but not for the burger.

Slow service. Didn’t get my order right and prices are way to high for what you get. Read most of the reviews on the fries. Best to try somewhere else. My third and final stop there over the last year so I am not speaking from one trip.

Counter service burger place in an re-purposed fastfood building. However Rick & Carolyn’s is made to order so it takes a little longer and isn’t really ‘fast food’. The burgers are more like what I call a good basic diner type burger and they’re well made. I’m not a fan of the fries though. The free ice cream is a nice touch. Cheap prices and friendly service make this a great stop if you’re near by.

So my girlfriend told me that this is a good place to get a burger. It’s also been told to me that it’s toss up between this and a place called Heff’s as far as good burgers go. I’m new to town so I don’t myself. As of my writing this I have yet to go to Heff’s so I can’t say either way. So the first time I stopped by. My girlfriend and I got an order of sweet potato fries, which we are both big fans of. They do something a bit different from what I am used to. They season their sweet potato fries with cinnamon and sugar. It makes sense in a way, but what if, like me. You like to dip your fries in ranch dressing? Problem. I am glad that this particular time I forgot to ask for ranch, because had I, I would have been disappointed. The fries ended up being delicious. I recommend them to those who like sweet potato fries. Just remember the seasoning if you order them. The second time I ate here I got myself a double bacon cheeseburger. The burger was good. I wasn’t sure that I was going to finish it. I should have gotten something a bit smaller, but it was on special so I figured, why not. It’s not the most amazing burger in the world, but it tastes good and makes me want to try more of what they have on their menu. I will definitely be back for a third time and more after that, I’m sure :)

This is NOT fast food but if you want a great burger, this is the place. They have my favorite crushed pellet kind of ice and thus I stop often just for a soft drink. I do not eat a lot of french fries so I can not speak to their quality but the burgers are always fresh made and very tasty. I eat here 2 or 3 times every week and they are consistently good. They used to have a grilled rib-eye sandwich that was one of the best I have ever had but they no longer have this. Maybe they will bring it back.

I used to go here time and time again when I lived nearby in college. It’s almost exactly the same. Great place to get a big bacon cheeseburger on a Sunday afternoon. The fries are homemade and the ice in the ice machine is the pellet kind. They have added some more fried items and other choices over the years. The owner is always friendly when he is in the store working.

I went here once and shall not go again. Fries were ok tasting(my son wouldn’t eat them so you know its bad) Burger was dry and did not taste good. Took 15 min to get my food after going through drive thru. Save your money and go eat somewhere else.

Good onion bottlecaps, they actually tasted like jalapenos to me. The burger is homemade and delicious. Fries are not bad either. Very poplular at lunch in this location. There are at least two others in town. There is a special for drinks, 88 cents for any size in drive through.

Fries and shake were good. Burger was uncooked in several spots as if it was frozen recently. 2 bites in had to throw it out.

I’ve been here on multiple occasions, every time has been terrible… As a person who knows food an what a good restaurant should be, I can tell you that EVERYONE who didn’t give this place one star is a delusional tasteless idiot, I know its harsh, but its true. If you want a dry, tasteless, greasy and repulsive burger: Rick & Carolyn’s is your place. Terrible attitude from behind the counter as well.

I rarely eat fast food but I heard great things about this particular one. I got the typical burger and fries with a Coke. Very tasty burger and amazingly it wasn’t as greasy as the ones you get at a typical fast food restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The food takes longer to get to you than a chain restaurant but it’s worth the wait. You get an ice cream cone after each meal which I thought was pretty awesome.

Eaten here several times and never been disappointed. The bugers are cooked to order and very yummie. I’ve also tried the nachos and various other side items. All were very tasty. The daily specials are usually a pretty good deal. Don’t forget the ice cream after your meal.
