Only been there once, but the cobb salad was great as was the tomato bisque. It is an interesting place and I will go back.

The tomato bisque is definitely all that it’s cracked up to be. The atmosphere is great too, if you like a cozy family-style experience. The restaurant is set up like an old house so we were in a room with 3 tables nice so close we ended up having more than one conversation with our neighbors — not necessarily a bad thing since we got to hear how they liked their dish before we ordered ours.

We are traveling back from Meridian MS to Alexandria VA and decided to stop here in the historic town of Abingdon. The wife, I and kiddos loved our food. Very, very fresh and delicious. And, price was about the same as fast food less tip! Good portions. Also, kids LOVED the sweet tea!

Normally when I am in Abingdon I like to have dinner at The Tavern, but tonight there was no room at the inn. So, my grandson and I went to 128 Pecan which had excellent reviews on Unilocal.I had the salmon special and the tomato bisque and the lad enjoyed a ribeye steak. I had some beer and the result was great. Tara was our waitress and she was excellent. 128 Pecan does not take reservations, but on a Saturday night we were seated in about 5 minutes. There were plenty of customers so we didn’t feel that there was no business — a feeling I don’t like in a restaurant. The venue is an old house on a back street. It’s nicely decorated and attracted a casual, but neat crowd. I recommend it for locals and strangers as well.

We stopped in on our way thru to Shenandoah and Elizabeth was our server. She was great and walked us through all the specials. The food was hands down delicious. We both got sandwiches and the soup of the day, a creamy potato soup dripping with cheese and bacon. We stuffed ourselves stupid and didn’t have room for dessert. I’ll have to remember this place because I would love to come back.

Ate here last week, and was quite impressed. After reading several reviews, I knew there were a few specific things I had to try. So here are the things I sampled: Tomato bisque – not something I would normally get, but this was excellent. Caesar salad – also first rate (Note: my dining partner said both of those may have been the best she’d ever had) Chicken florentine – this was a slight disappointment, mainly bc a reviewer had mentioned garlic mashed, but they are now being served with new potatoes. They were very good, but I just craved the ability to get a nice bite with the chicken and mashed together. But yes, still a very good dish. Catfish – not the best I’ve had, but good Seasonal veggies with the catfish – eh Bread pudding – not as good as I hoped, and it wasn’t exactly the texture I look for in bread pudding… but I was also literally about to burst by this point, so that may have been a factor!

We’ve eaten lunch here a few times and it’s always been just okay. There is a tinge of snottiness from the owner that makes us feel as though we aren’t welcome. Other people we know have said the same thing. Our waiter last week seemed very forgetful and that sort of forced us to think twice about ever returning. The food is good, but dining out is more than food — it’s the whole atmosphere.

Best fish tacos ever, and amazing cole slaw! Very fresh ingredients and nice ambiance. Only complaint is the service. We had to wait 20 min after finished to get the check. Yikes! Good food though and I try to support the local.

Food cooked with perfection! Travelling around I enjoy dining at restaurants that care about perfection in their food. The waitresses will ask you how you want your food cooked which I liked about restaurants. The ambiance of this restaurant is great and has a nice patio. The servers were very friendly and fast. I would have given a five star if not for cramped spacing. I would recommend you to stop here if you like fine dining.

I got lamb with Tzeziki(I’m got sure if that’s how it’s spelled) which is a Greek yogurt sauce, and basmati rice. The lamb was cooked perfectly, and was very tender. The sauce was delicious with it, and the rice was great as well. For dessert, I got the three berry pie, and that was great. The food came out fast and hot, and the server was very courteous. The only thing is that it’s a little pricey, but the food is worth it.

This is one of the top 5 food places I have been to in my life!!! I started out by ordering salmon with colored greens, baked potatoes, and tomato bisque. I don’t even like tomato soup, but I fell in love with this tomato bisque. The salmon was delicious and cooked to perfection. Although the food was a bit pricey, the portion size was large enough for two! Come to 128 Pecan if you want delicious food that you will be craving months later.

Dinner was awesome, the place was very welcoming to us all, service was efficient and dessert was awesome. Being inside and enjoying the great air was great! I had the ribeye steak along with a lemon cake and chocolate mud cake with a group of people. Both were also delicious. Although the prices are a bit high for entrée’s, it is definitely worth it. I had two sides and a salad and had leftover. This place was great. I will come back any day :)

There are few times in my life that I want to eat something slowly and deliberately so that I can truly experience and taste the many crafted flavors of a meal! This was one of those times! I order the grilled salmon with colored greens and tomato bisque which was exquisite. To top it all off I had the chocolate chip mocha bread pudding with a bourbon glaze. The dessert was my favorite and I highly recommend it! I will definitely stop here on my next travels and highly recommend it to anyone!

First impressions are everything… went in today for lunch… was seated… asked for tea to drink… a food stained crumpled up paper menu was placed before me… I was seated facing an AC vent in need of a cleaning… waitress sneezed into her hand… continued past me to serve customers… asked for my tea to go $ 2.81 paid it and was approached by unknown man asking how my day was going… Said not so well. started to leave. continuous banter from him as I left. did offer to comp tea but I paid and left… with so many other great places in Abingdon… Avoid 128 Pecan

In town to visit family and found 128 Pecan to be delightful. Our server was thoughtful and provided great recommendations. We were a larger party and the place was hopping, but you’d have thought we were the only ones there. I had the Hummus to start, which was the perfect light app. Because I had the Shrimp and grits for the entrée and it was a rich, spicy delicious trip. Of course we had to follow with dessert. And they delivered. The coconut cream pie was light, creamy and perfect. Can’t wait to come back and try some more.

This restaurant is special. What a wonderful experience my husband and I had this evening. All the food was amazing… very very good! I had the fried oysters(Best I’ve ever had) and my husband had the beef tenderloin special. However what made this place so incredible was the atmosphere and service. We walked in the door and Josh welcomed us and we felt like we were home, the restaurant is very cozy and intimate and you get the feeling that everyone kinda knows each other(which may be the case) but visitors are welcomed with open arms. We had fellow guests playing spoons for some young visitors and it was very fun. The owner checked on us more than once and we were very impressed! Left feeling like we made new friends who we look forward to visiting again soon! Great place!

If you are in Abingdon this place is a must visit. It’s small, quaint and has some of the best food in the area. By far my favorite was the bread pudding desert but the food was delicious from beginning to end. The lamb meal is wonderful and the artichoke appetizer is a unique version of a spinach dip. We had Elva serve us and if you are lucky enough have her during your stay your experience will be all the better. Come to town for a play but swing by here first just go early it’s popular and gets busy for dinner fast.

This is a great little find in Abington and we had a great post-Creeper Trail meal. The service was great and each room had its own character. The menu has burgers and sandwiches and then heartier entrees like Jerk chicken, salmon and specials of the day with Southern flare.
