Phoenix Diner

Delightful find in Absecon. Was here on business and tried it out. Classic old-​school diner with all the usual options but also several healthy items as well as some classic Greek entrees. Down home service and good prices.

Good breakfast. I had the Happy Greek omelette with home fries and rye toast. Omelette was very tasty. Home fries were ok, nothing special. Overall, a decent Jersey diner.

Pretty good find in the Atlantic City area. For a Sunday morning, it was decently busy. We were greeted and seated pretty quick. I ordered the Cheese Steak omelet, that came with hash browns and toast. If you know me, I always order my hash browns well done. Also ordered an ice water with lemon. Food came out fairly quickly. The omelet was very good, just had a few too many onions for my liking. I wished it had mushrooms, but I guess I could have asked for them. The hash browns weren’t as well done as I prefer, but overall the food was good. Two of my pet peeves were achieved here, too. One was a fresh glass with a fresh lemon wedge was bought to me for my refill and the ketchup bottle didn’t have old, dried up kepchup under the cap.
Overall, our experience was very positive. Our server was courteous and the prices were completely reasonable. Highly recommended!

What a surprise! We were planning to go to another nearby breakfast spot and realize this place was closer. Having no idea of the service offered and traveling from afar, we decided to check them out. We’re so glad we did. From the time we sat down it took only minutes to decide on food choice and quickly the waitress returned with our orders fresh, hot and steamy. The waitress served us with a pleasurable smile and attitude. Great place and we look forward to returning during our stay here.

I was at this diner once about a year ago and had promised myself never to return! Today, over a year later, my husband and I decide to get lunch here on our way home from the casinos! We decided to give them a second chance! Unfortunately we where quickly reminded why we shouldn’t have stopped there! Poor service and lousy food! I don’t expect gourmet food from a diner but I do expect edible foods and a more friendly waiter!

I stayed at the holiday inn express in Absecon Nj since it’s close to Atlantic City. Stopped at the Phoenix diner at 12am for a late night meal. Definitely a nice place if you want comfort food., diner was clean and acceptable parking.

Have not been there for afew years but every stop was great food service and very friendly waitress. Btw. Rest rooms always very clean.

Stopped in with a co-​worker after the lunch rush and we each had breakfast. We were greeted very warmly by the hostess. I had the French Toast with Italian Sausage and my co-​worker had the ham and cheese omelette with the home fries. I was very pleased with my French Toast. It was 6 thick slices powdered and not only did they taste really good but they smelled good when they put them down. The Italian Sausage was one huge link that was split down middle. Nice presentation. It also was very tasty. My co-​worker loved her omelette and was almost dancing while she was eating it. The coffee was good. The prices were very reasonable for the portions they served.
The service was very good and friendly. I’ve been to many diners over the past several months and this one was a notch or two above the others. Is it the best diner in NJ? No. But I can’t complain if the food, service, and prices were excellent.

Spanish omelet terrific. Service very good. Clean. Light and airy. Potatoes are good and not greasy. Waffle light and tasty. They know how to do eggs. Great place.

Really good food and the service is great. I usually go for a dinner special. Be warned, it is a boatload of food. Really haven’t had a dish I didn’t like. Dessert here is king.

My friends and I went here for a weeknight dinner and it was very tasty. Service was good (we had something missing from our order and they fixed it quickly) and friendly. Portion sizes were kind of HUGE. I got one of their wraps and it was so stuffed full that it was hard to keep it together. Messy but delicious.

Probably eaten here about 10 times, always make a stop on my way back from Atlantic city. Typical diner, with above average, quality food. Housemade corned beef hash is spectacular. Home fries are a little bland, maybe need some onions/​peppers, but are surprisingly most. Service is on the average great, and the food comes out fast every time.

Food was quick, but no baby changing station. Beware the bb bullet hole in the window by one of the booths.

Service was friendly. Food came out quickly, but toast was burned, eggs were cold. Pancakes and farmer’s omelet were the only high points. Can’t recommend.

Breakfast was good. Lunch and dinner, not.
The wraps we had were not hot and kinda tasteless; and the shrimp/​scallop fettuccine the shrimp over cooked. Plus it took pretty long for not having too many people inside. 4 people — 3 wraps and the dinner, 3 sodas, $ 58.

Server was friendly, coffee was hot, but a single cooked egg was $ 3.75??? No potato, no toast, still full price. I also ordered the fruit salad, which came out on a very impressive plate, but half of it was under ripe and half was over ripe. Mushy strawberries and an over priced undercooked egg… Maybe I should have stuck with pancakes.

Stopped by here on the way home from ac and it was great! The food is great for a little diner. I would def recommend :) :)

Very good diner! I get a Farmer’s Omelette every time I came here and it’s been delicious. Prices are good and quantities are huge. If you’ve had a rough night in AC, don’t go to Dunkin or any other breakfast place down there to get ripped off. Just stop here off of the expressway and enjoy a great meal to ease the hangover.
Last time we went, they even had Fat Sandwiches which is obviously gross after thinking about what you ate, but the most perfect comfort food. No complaints — What I want in a diner!

I always get a good meal here.
I hear the crab cakes aren’t good but every thing I’ve tried was great. nice waitress’s too.
Only issue. they always have terrible talk radio shows on the radio. put some nice calming music on!
