Minos Imported Foods

I ordered a very hard to find item on ¹⁰⁄₂₁; it arrived on ¹⁰⁄₂₄. I thought it was going to take longer, so I was quite excited when my package arrived. The giant wafers I ordered were exactly like the picture, nicely packed and not cracked. I really appreciate this place.

Mino’s is an itty bitty, hidden Greek food store selling all things imported from Greece…
You can find various cuts of fresh lamb or you can have them cook it for you.
Having a pig roast party? Why not have Mino’s roast it for you? Cause they can & will…
Looking for fillo dough? They have every thickness you need for your Baklava or Spanikopita. The imported Feta here is fabulous, and they carry domestic as well.
There is certainly a difference in Mino’s feta versus Caputo’s…don’t settle.
I needed to find ground lamb for making burgers, and Mino’s came to the rescue!
Homemade spinach pies, fresh breads and pita, Greek pastries, excellent olive oils, fresh olives, good assortment of frozen specialties & meats and Greek wines! … what more could you ask for in a Greek specialty store? Friendly owners and reasonable prices…
In an area heavily saturated with Italian and Hispanic markets — I am truly grateful to have a Greek food store nearby on the days I am feeling ‘Grecian’…

Our Easter Lamb was not good and was embarrassed when it was served… She ordered a whole cooked lamb, and was very disappointed. Did not want it to be sliced or cut, but they did cut it up and it looked as if they cut it with a chain saw. It was it was all bones and no meat for $ 300.00, it was a mess and not appetizing when served. They called to explain nicely to them of the experience, and they yelled back. I really felt bad for the party hostess that bought the lamb.

Minos is a hidden gem. Quality foods and products and great prices. I understand convenience, but if you pay $ 8.99 a pound for kalamata olives at Whole Foods again, I’m going to freak ;)

Very dishonest online sellers. I am god knows not a picky buyer but I absolutely hate dishonesty I ordered from this store through ebay. I ordered Milka chocolate and they send me the wrong item. Once I contacted them, they told me that they would refund me in full including the return shipping (as it was their mistake to send me the wrong
the first place) They never refunded me back for the return shipping and just stoped responding to my emails. It is dishonest stores like this, who ruin it for all the small hard working mom and pop stores on the web.

Best lamb, feta, and octopus in Chicagoland. We had them cater my nieces birthday everything went perfectly. Try the greek potatoes!!!

Minos is my go-​to Greek grocery store. They have the best feta cheese and an even better kefalotiri cheese for saganaki. If it’s Greek, Minos has it.

If its Greek they probably have it. from cheeses, wines, and olive oils to pastries fresh baked bread and even lamb… this is my go to store for all my Greek cooking items

Being Greek… this is the ONLY place I can get decent, authentic Greek Feta. The supermarkets have that over-​priced, plastic tasting, full of preservatives, little square pieces of psuedo-Feta’s. Don’t be fooled by the supermarkets! Come here and ask for the imported Feta. Heaven!

I’ve always been curious about Minos Imported Foods. The marquee in front always posts things like – don’t forget your lamb for the weekend – or something like that. I love Greek food, but I’d have no idea for what to buy or where to start. I need a Yia Yia stat!
Then came the sign in their window letting us know that they carry beef Cevapi.
Say what? Now THAT is something I could cook up easily for sure.
The shop may look small from the outside, but inside it’s chock full of Greek and other European goods. I kick myself for not giving myself enough time to browse more, but what I found so far will ensure future visits again and again. I saw so many different kinds of olive oil, honey, fresh olives, and hunks of Feta. There’s ready-​to-​take-​home fresh bread and other pastries that are made on site. There’s a prepared foods aisle, a frozen section and liquor aisle.
My take home that day, Cevapi to be grilled, pita bread, tzatziki, baklava and Greek beer. Add some sliced onions and tomato and I made a heckuva lunch on the fly.
It was quiet the day I visited (mid day, midweek) I can just imagine it’s hopping on other days, especially when folks come in to get their lamb for the weekend!

Great Greek olives, nice homemade bread, choice of wines (Greece, Macedonia, Croatia…) good prices… my store for 24 years !!\

If your looking for a good leg of lamb, come to Mino’s.
This is my favorite little greek grocery store. My mom has been coming here for years to get her supplies for all our Holiday dinner’s. Fabulous fresh ingrediants and meat, and a great selection on Greek wines and vodka’s. They also carry a variety of pastry’s.
They aren’t too bad in price seeing everything is imported. Usually stores will raise the prices due to their shipping costs. But not Mino’s! So if your ever in the mood to make a great big Greek dinner, go on down to Mino’s they have everything! :)
Oopa!!!

I ordered many different types of honey imported from Greece via their website. Because they were heavy, I had them shipped to me from IL in the least expensive manner. I still received everything within two days. Their service was prompt and I was very glad to be able to get these rare honey types here in the US.
Their website needs to be updated because many image links are broken but I still gave them five stars because of their products and quick and accurate service.
