I visited BIB yesterday for lunch. The fish burrito($ 6.50) was fantastic! Deep-fried Alaskan cod, Spanish rice, black beans, shredded cabbage, cheese, salsa, and jalapeño cream sauce. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a choice of three different tortillas: plain, sun-dried tomato, spinach — a nice variety. I tried the sun-dried tortilla and it was a subtle flavor, but ‘ono. Also tried the Spanish rice bowl($ 5.25): kalua pig, spanish rice, lettuce, cheese, but I think the server didn’t really know how to make it. Turned out mine didn’t have lettuce like the description on the menu said, and I was expecting at least a good amount of food, but it came in a small square container. If you like meat, though, that thing was loaded with kalua pig. Hard to justify the price for the portion, but it could have been a mistake. Both times I’ve been there, no long line(which I like). Servers were pleasant and friendly. My favorite burrito joint. UPDATE(2008.05.05): Tried the taco salad and although delicious(with spicy jerk-style chicken) the amount of food was severely lacking. For $ 7.00+, I expected a LOT more(literally). The shell was freshly-made, but the packaging was way too big for the food — picture this small taco salad in a large plate-lunch container, taking up only about 40% of the box, leaving a large unsatisfying empty area that just makes me think, «Where’d the rest of my money go!?». BOTTOMLINE: If you eat here, just go for the burritos and ignore everything else. UPDATE(2008.12.03) — Place closed down. Guess they didn’t get enough business. So sad, too bad. ;-(
