By far, my boyfriend & I’s favorite place to eat sushi. Service is always great here. The baked mussel, hamachi, ebi, & salmon nigiri are my favorite. With my boyfriend being a sushi fanatic, he always knows when the sushi is fresh or previously frozen. This place is seriously worth your money. We came in last night & our server told us that we came on a good night because since they were going on a trip & didn’t want the fish to go to waste, they had a specials like $ 1 off nigiri & some other specials. So we most def took advantage of that. We came around 720PM& got seated within 10 minutes. Place wasn’t packed but it was like everyone was in & out by the time we got there. Sushi came out pretty quick. Tried the chirashi for the first time & it was pretty good, well worth $ 16.

One of my new favorite sushi places for sure!!! Sushi Spot is so good. The wide selection of maki to choose from is overwhelming but no matter what you get, it’s sure to be delicious! We were seated at 11:04, 4 minutes after opening. I’m glad we came early because not long after being seated, the little establishment packed up quick. The four of us ordered the SOS, Caterpillar, ikura nigiri, Philadelphia, Best Friend, Mt. Fuji, and spicy ahi rolls. All, but the Philadelphia in my opinion, were so good. I’m not a salmon/cream cheese fan so I didn’t care for the Philly roll but !!! my tastebuds were so happy. The service was great too! It can get cramped at times but that doesn’t compromise the quality of service we refeived that day. I hope to come back soon and bring more friends to try this little spot with me. So yummy.

Went to this place after the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. The Sushi is delicious and good portion size! And the service was great! Recommend the Fried Mushroom and Calvin’s Choice.

I’ll have to start off with saying this is one of my favorite sushi restaurants because of the quality of the sushi and their prices. I always love eating their delicious sushi. Their menu is very descriptive of their sushi, especially their rolls, so you know exactly what will be on it since there aren’t any pictures on their menu. The only downfall is that they are a small place and wait times are sometimes long. I like that they have a byob policy, but there is a downside to that because parties sometimes take a lot longer to finish their meal because they are drinking which in return means longer wait times. I would have given them 5 stars but the last time I came here, the ac was not working well or they just turned it on because when we got in there to eat, I was slowly starting to sweat. I also give the staff some credit because every time I come here, there is only 1 server and 1 cashier. Most people would not like this fact but they are pretty quick at accommodating to everyone. If you really need something from the server it would be best to call them over instead of waiting for them to come. But like I said, one of my favorite spots and will always come back when I have the sushi craving.

My fiancé and I went there 2 days in a row. Our first visit was awesome, although we went at closing, they were very helpful and didn’t rush us out when we were still there after closing. The food was pretty good too, reasonably priced. The next day, we were a party of 5. The set up is not comfortable for a party larger than maybe 3 – 4. We barely had space to put the food that was coming on our table. But the food that food make it was absolutely amazing! The Hamachi Lovers and Red Spider roll were definitely my favorite. And you can’t forget about the fried Oreos! If you never tried or had them before, you won’t be disappointed. Just do it! We’ll definitely be going back, but probably with a smaller party.

This is one of my favorite place. Sushi is delicious. They have so many cool selection and they have my favorite amaebi with the fried head. Come early because it’s small place. It opens at 1100 am and close on Sunday. It is a hidden gem and you get your money worth. My Favorite on the menu is the Red Spider. If you like soft shell you need to try it.

Very small restaurant in Aiea which was hard for me to find the first time I got here. Entering the restaurant, there are minimal seating areas so we had to wait a little before getting seated. After getting seated and putting in our orders the server gave us free miso soup(yum)! The food here takes a while to come out(which is probably my only downfall besides the minimal seating). But when the sushi came out, it was made neatly and adorably! I ordered the ahi tuna roll, caterpillar roll, and California roll. The fish for all were fresh, soft, and tasty. They were tasty but nothing too special about the sushi’s itself. Overall I would definitely come back to this restaurant but maybe not during peak hours.

You know that urge you get when you have a juicy secret that you are dying to share with the world? That’s how I feel about Sushi Spot in Aiea and gosh dang it, the cats out of the bag! SS is a great place to get some good quality sushi, with fresh fish and innovative rolls without the high price tag. But shhhhh. It’s our dirty little secret! If you love sashimi like I do, pick the chirashi bowl. For about $ 13 you can’t go wrong! Fresh cuts of fish and even a little ikura! #winning! The appetizers like the mushroom tempura are a must-have as well. Parking is decent, this is on the bottom side of aiea, near the old library and across from Trina’s and Youngs Kal Bi. Go check it out for yourself!

Amaaaazing sushi spot! I personally think it’s better than Kuru Kuru and Genki sushi… had the soft shell crab, unagi, avocado, baked mussels, crab meat, tobiko, shrimp tempura, and spicy ahi… highly recommended to go try it out… the price range is about the same price as if u went to Genkis and Kuru Kuru… the restaurant is a bit small and because it’s popular, it does get crowded… the service is awesome too

Over a year later and this is consistently my favorite place for sushi and sushi rolls. The ambiance isn’t quite as fun as it used to be with odd k-pop music videos playing on the TVs and pictures of the rolls on the walls. It’s been refurbished so has lost a lot of character. The food is just as good with the exception that the freshness of the fish isn’t as consistent as it used to be. Still one of my favorite places to pick up lunch though!

I found sushi spot through Unilocal and saw their amazing reviews and pictures of their sushi. So I decided to try it out. We came as soon as they opened. Their customer service is the best so friendly and polite. The sushi we got was calvin choice, volcano roll, and stuffed jalapeños. They were all amazing! The volcano roll was so surprisingly good we ordered another one. Can’t wait to eat the fried Oreos it looks so delicious!

Came here on a recommendation from my bestie! And oh boy, she did not disappoint! So what do 3 girls order when hungry and in mood for sushi! Everything under the sun! So the highlights: –Udon! The soup was seriously the bomb! Both tempura and fish cake. Portions HUGE! –Kamakazi! Spicy ahi with salmon topping, delicious! –Best Friend! Imitation crab with spicy ahi, to die for!!! –Volcano! Hehe a must try~ Believe it, or not three girls were able to finish EVERYTHING! All the food was good and on point. We luckily came a little early before rush hour so had no wait. Which made the experience all the better. The service also 5 stars. As soon as we were seated we got our waters and our orders taken within 5 minutes. Food came shortly after! Loved the entire experience here! Definitely will be coming back for more and maybe order more food . The only caution, the parking lot is small so you may have to fight for parking if coming during peak times!

Pros: Excellent food. Really good service. Fresh ingredients. Nice prices. Cons: Busy at peak dinner time Tip: Last call is at 9pm on Fridays Alcohol: Not yet. *fingers crossed* Must try: Lion King! I’m a big fan of Sushi Spot. My fiancé and I have been coming here for years. Don’t feel intimidated when it’s busy, the wait is very worth it. Their Lion King Sushi is decadent and irresistible. It’s a must try if you are a fan of cream cheese and crab. Tonight we’re trying their fried Oreos and ice cream. It smells like doughnut heaven. Pics coming soon.

I came here during lunch time at noon. I usually order from here whenever I have a sushi craving. Ambiance: The place is relatively small. It’s within a shopping center in Aiea. Quaint and very friendly service. The waiters and chefs are friendly. The Food: I’ve tried every sashimi and the quality is excellent. The rolls are good too. I would suggest the SOS roll or the dragonfly roll. Overall, it was great. I am particular with sashimi and this place has good ones. The price is reasonable and the portions are filling.

We finally found our go to sushi spot on the west side. It’s affordable. The portion size is great. And it is just simply delicious. I go to sushi spot to order nigiri. 3 pieces per order… and each order is no more than $ 10. How great is that?! Our typical order consists of Salmon, Hamachi, Scallops, and Unagi. They also have a large assortment of specialty rolls which are also very popular. And to top it off, Sushi Spot has the BESTFRIEDOREOS(in my opinion)! I could just go in, order that and I would be happy.

Aiea is pretty lucky to have pretty decent sushi places around; so i got even more excited to hear about a great new Japanese restaurant near the Aiea Shopping center. So when my friend and I found ourselves looking for a place to eat? I immediately suggested Sushi spot! The restaurant has its own private parking lot that is shared with other restaurants and businesses in surrounded buildings. However, we went at night so the majority of the other businesses were closed, leaving us with ample amount of parking. The restaurant is a little small, so we were put on a waiting list(just write your name on a clipboard) which seemed long, but we only waited about 20 minutes. The atmosphere is really casual. There were a lot of families there just having a lot of fun and laughing, along with loud music playing over the speakers. So if youre here to have an intimate dinner, this wouldnt be the place! It took a while for someone to take our order, but we finally ordered after flagging someone down. :T Based on the drool worthy pics that others had posted, I ordered some Seared ahi nigiri, a sushi roll to share and an Oyakodonburi. My friend had gotten some other type of sushi(brain farttt cant think!) as well as an oyako donburi. The sushi came out pretty quickly, but the donburis took a little while. When we did get the food though, it was just… okay. Nothing as spectacular as I had expected, so it left me a little disappointed. The rice that the sushi came with was very different. Id like to say it was sweeter than the norm of sushi rice? I dont know. It kind of threw us off. Then the donburis seemed as if it didnt have enough flavor. :T We needed to keep flagging someone down for water(and we needed it since the sushi roll we had ordered was a little spicy –____-). They would often come by asking if we had ordered something that we didnt; they just seemed a little lost. The Good: –Convenient parking –SOME of their sushi rolls are good –The vibe was just really fun and laid back. The Bleh: –Service. I think since its still kind of a new place and because it was busy, the service wasnt that great. We needed to keep asking for water and utensils and whatnot. They would also often be looking for the customers that had ordered items. –The food. It seems that their seafood is pretty fresh and good, but the rice was just… really weird. The donburi also seemed to be tasteless I hope that I can just write this off to growing pains, but I dont think the Sushi Spot will be my sushi spot. Ill give them a try again but… not any time soon.

Ok so I have to update my original review. They aren’t as good of quality now that the original owners and makers aren’t here. The food isn’t as consistent. Not fond of how they close randomly. Their Unilocal hours mean nothing, they close randomly. It’s still the best place I’ve come to yet for Sushi my we don’t frequent them like we used too. Coming at 11(opening) comes to be an almost two hour lunch because the length of time to try and balance the crowd.

I come for the rolllls!!! I’ve just recently discovered this place and omg I don’t know why I never came here earlier! It’s in the shopping center across from the Aiea Bowl shopping center. I come here for the sushi rolls. There’s 40+ different rolls to choose from! I’ve tried only 2 of them. I love this place because their rolls have quality ingredients and great presentation! Last night my boyfriend and I got Agadashi Tofu, Rainbow Roll #1 and the Kamakazi. I don’t like tofu but there Agadashi tofu is so good! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I got the rainbow roll and it was really good. It was filled with hearty crab meat and topped with ahi, hamachi, avocado, and ebi. Such fresh ingredients! My boyfriend got the Kamakazi and he said it was nice and spicy! Since I don’t like spicy I didn’t try it. It was spicy ahi topped with cooked salmon and covered in spicy mayo and unagi sauce. He said it was a combo of sweet and spicy. The service is alright. It was a busy night and the waiter was tryna help the sushi chefs keep up with their orders so he didn’t check up on us very often. The food takes a while to come out but the place was pretty packed and there’s only a couple ppl working in the sushi bar. One huge thing about this place is there’s only 2 ACs in the place and although it’s small, it was pretty warm.

$ 13.95 for a huge bowl of sushi rice and generous portions of fish and other seafood?! You got to be kidding! And everything one their menu is reasonably priced?! Which means happy tummies and happy wallets, yay!!! The only concern was the seating process. We went the second time around 7:45. Through out the wait, a worker kept coming outside, telling us how long more it would be. We really appreciated it until a group of 6 were going to get seated before us even though our party of 3 were there 20 min before the other party came. Like are you serious? It doesn’t make any sense when you are telling us we’re going to get seated next. My boyfriend immediately went inside and talked to the worker. I’m guessing he forgot about our group even though he told us we were going to get seated next? Who knows? Just go early. Period.
