Actually it rates zero stars! Food was horrible all across the board! I feel sick how I wish I never ate this. Food was burnt, overcooked, dry, lack flavor, yuck!

Today’s dinner service was absolutely dreadful. Tonight has surely been one of THE worst dining services I have experienced. After spending a wonderful evening celebrating my niece’s graduation from Moanalua HS, my family and I decided to grab a late dinner at the Pali Momi location. Initially I was greeted by a friendly host by the name of Anthony. The wait wasn’t all too long and before we knew it we were seated. We waited to hear from our waiter, but that took some time. Finally when we did, it was rather obvious that he was annoyed/irritated for some reason. Let me summarize the BS: 1. He was too busy arguing with other staff that he couldn’t bring water to the table. 2. Our family had to cancel a few orders, because he kept forgetting them. 3. His attitude sucked. I have never had a waiter roll his eyes so damn much. Seriously, if it wasn’t illegal to stab him in the eye with a fork, I probably would have. 4. He tried… yes let me reiterate that. he TRIED to be a smartass with my sister once all of the men in my family walked out and she stayed back to pay the bill. He made the comment of «Yah go ahead and write a letter to corporate about me.» Unfortunate for him, my sister isn’t a push over and has no problem putting someone in their spot. Sucked to be you during that embarrassing moment. 5. Lastly, the manager was just as incompetent as the waiter, so that in itself was a waste of time reporting the situation to. So all in all… if you enjoy having to deal with idiotic waiters, then I suppose Denny’s Pali Momi is a good match. Oh and as for you, Donovan, do not blame others for your incompetency. I don’t give a damn if you people walked out on you. After tonight’s service, now we know why. Be cognizant that you are in the service industry, so suck it up and stop being a damn whiner.

Excellent service from the wait staff. I have to say, my waiter/waitress at this location is always a polite and friendly person. Tonight(or morning, rather), my receipt had«Hostess: Abigail». This lady is very friendly and strived to ensure my satisfaction. I absolutely loved her personality and her upbeat tempo. The food is great and the 2÷4÷6÷8 menu is handy :-) A Quesadilla for $ 2, Whhhaaa! The reason for my 3 star review however — the older caucasian male with the ponytail, that worked the register and was in charge of seating people seemed to always be outside, and when he was actually inside… he was pretty rude. A group of people walked in and one of the people veered straight towards the bathroom. He eye’d this person as she walked and after entering the bathroom, he turned to her friends and asked«Was THAT a girl?». Now mind you, im aware of the diverse culture of Hawaii, seeing as i’ve lived here for two decades, and my appearance is also one that could be, well, questioned(sometimes!) LOL, but geez, this chick was CLEARLY a female, dude. As I type this, i’m still watching the same people standing at the podium, waiting to be seated.(1:07am) Also, id like to point out that this place is empty so it’s not like he was«too» busy to help anyone. (1:12am) the people were about to seat themselves and a waitress(Abigail) walked up and asked if they’ve been helped. After seeing that they were a tad bit upset, they were seated and Abigail was quick to serve them their beverages. Kudos to you Abigail! No help from anyone and you were rocking the resturant floor. I could only wish that everyone was a great as you!

Unless you are horribly hungover and you need greasy tasteless food, don’t bother coming here for breakfast. Hubby got Country Fried Steak and Eggs. The plate was all a gross shade of beige. Not very appealing. The food was the same. No good flavors, just bland. No comparison to the Fried Steak at Dixie Grill. I got the Banana Pecan Pancake Breakfast. They piled the pancakes on top of the scrambled eggs and bacon. Hate that. The«healthier» scrambled egg whites were super greasy and I believe my turkey bacon was just thinly sliced pieces of greasy ham. Service was slow. Next we will go to Koa, IHOP… anywhere else.

The Mrs. and I used to hate eating here because of the non-existent service. In fact, one time, we waited more than ½ of an hour for the check, went up to the cashier, and told the manager our meal must be free because no one brought us the bill. The manager apologized that our waitress had finished her shift without letting someone know to finish up. Fortunately, on the last three dinner visits in October and November, the service has been very good. Honestly no complaints at all in that department. Drinks refilled regularly, food brought to us hot, and always pleasant demeanor from the wait staff. The food selection is great if you want to eat breakfast but not so good if you want a «dinner.» Only a few«dinners» to choose from. The Mrs. usually ends up ordering the Lumberjack Slam(ham, bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, and hash browns) but can’t finish all of it. The BBQ chicken is the only«dinner» that appeals to me so it’s a good thing I like it. On one trip, I ordered a make-your-own breakfast combo and chose the(slightly) healthier choices: turkey bacon, chicken sausage, egg whites, and whole grain pancakes — that actually taste pretty good. Still not our first choice but if it’s kind of late(9:00), it’s an alternative to Anna Millers, Zippy’s and Big City Diner.

This place just annoys me. We were told our wait would be about 20 minutes but had to wait longer than that. Then when it came time for me to order, I tried to order a fit-fare omelette which comes with turkey bacon and a side of fruit. I wanted to switch the sides with the original sides that comes with toast and hashbrown but our server, Celia said I couldn’t. That makes no sense… I’ve never been to a restaurant that wouldn’t let me make substitutions… Sometimes there’s a fee but it’s never a straight up no. It especially makes no sense because I’m pretty sure hashbrowns and toast is cheaper than turkey bacon and fresh fruit. Then she brought out the waters almost 10 minutes later and forgot one. My friend who ordered coke, got her coke in a styrofoam cup. Later, my friends cousin who had ordered salad with no dressing got dressing on it but at least she got it comped. We arrived a little after 10:30am and didn’t get our food till 11:50 =\

#35/365 For all the Dennys that i’ve been too, they all taste the same so at least food consistency is good. Yeah, the food is pretty average(3 – 3.5) but what I like about the Dennys that i’ve been to recently, their service is fast. We came for breakfast and the place was pretty full but not crowded so we didnt have to wait. Our waiter was pretty good at refilling our waters and coffee and our food came out under 10 mins. I also like that they have their $ 2, 4, 6, 8 menu items because thats super cheap with the good amount of food you get. Overall, a 3.5, for average food but with fast service and good deals i’ll round it up.

Well well! Denny’s. I used to love this place on the mainland along with Waffle House for breakfast. I wanted to try a different place than my usual spots and something close to home. I decided to see how Denny;s is here. i was seated promptly but then had to wait a while for my server to come over. maybe 10 Minutes. I ordered the«create your own Grand Slam». Pick. 4 items off the list. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, Bacon x2, Toast x2 and Hash-browns I also ordered coffee. The food came out promptly and that’s as good as it gets. Eggs were over easy, not over medium, hash browns over cooked with a couple burnt spots. The bacon was perfect and the toast was ok. The coffee which on the mainland was always one of my favorites along with 7-eleven and Duncan Donuts. Well it was horrible. I’m not sure if they use different coffee here or just make it to strong but it was simply not good. I want be back probably to Denny’s here. There are better places on the island, such as the«original pancake house». Overall the food at Denny’s was so-so, service was just ok after the initial wait and there are better places for the price they charge. Denny’s has the usual Hawaii mark up in price.

Nothing to special, just a regular dennys. Food is so so, the place was empty when i came here, like a ghost town. Waitresses were nice and generous. Typical dennys, nothing new here

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had eating out. Our server swept the remnants of food onto the seats instead of wiping the table properly, we were served stale chips for the three-dip & chips, the food arrived cold in form of a sizzling platter that was cool enough to rest your finger on, they only gave one set of silverware and when I got mine it had grease on it. We had to ask more than twice for our drinks. And the staff would rather stand around and talk than do their jobs properly. For only 4 other tables in the restaurant, you would think they’d do a better job.

*Loco moco, onion rings = about $ 13* Dear Dennys, Ever since the turkey dinner fiasco of ’06 I have avoided your restaurant like the plague. However, tonight, as I was outnumbered and forced by two avid Denny’s fans to dine in your establishment, I prepared myself for another mouth raping incident similar to that of IHOP. Lo and behold, it was not awful. In fact, it was not only edible but somewhat enjoyable. My loco moco, despite having an egg that was laid by the tiniest chicken in the world, was tasty and filling. I am no fan of unbreaded onion, and find an unadulterated onion garnish frightening at best, but your slice of onion lying uninvited across my patty was perfectly cooked and surprisingly pleasant. I have a weakness for onion rings and yours were… good. Very good actually. Nice and crispy, none of that flaccid onion ring business happening here. My friends seemed to enjoy their biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs, and oatmeal. Though the oatmeal had an oddly long cooking time, but perhaps you plump each individual oat. Your ketchup bottles all seem to have only an inch of ketchup residing within them, and that was annoying as I treat ketchup as more of a side dish than a condiment. Also, your waitress brought me an iced tea instead of water, which I suppose is worse the other way around– at least mine was an upgrade. By the way, kudos to your practice of having the bill organized by seat. So smart! So efficient! We all paid for ourselves at the register and no one had to harbor secret feelings of having been cheated. Your $ 2, $ 4, $ 6 menu may be enough to merit a visit from my entire family. I’d say my child’s appetite is worth about $ 2. My resentment and ill will have faded. I forgive you. Smiles, Angela

Oh Denny’s… how I love your comfort food! We went on Easter Sunday for brunch. The wait was about 10 minutes and we had a super sweet server who was obviously busy but gave us exceptional service. The restaurant is pretty clean and I have no complaints about the service or food. Orders: chicken fried steak; my brother ate it all. He liked it lol. Lumberjack slam; a HUGE serving of eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. My other brother and boyfriend got this. They ate it all. Me: Chicken strips(plain), my absolute FAVORITE! It’s crunchy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside, and the ranch dressing is thick and yummy! I also ordered the super bird. A turkey sandwich with swiss cheese and tomatoes on grilled sourdough bread. I add lettuce to this sandwich and I get it with country fried potatoes(and I add cheese to them)… SOGOOD! Now it was Easter, and we waited almost an hour for our food, but it was PACKED, and our server kept checking on us and didn’t leave us to twiddle our thumbs in the meantime. The food came out hot and fresh. On other occasions that I’ve been here the food comes out quicker. I’ve never been disappointed and will continue to return to Denny’s!

Saturday, March 12, 2001 @ 11:00am We’ve returned to Denny’s at various locations because of the value menu. Biscuit with sausage gravy and an egg or hashbrowns for $ 2, tasty and well worth the money. My husband ordered the $ 6 burger & seasoned fries plate; he liked it but should have specified«medium» on the burger. Overall, food was good, price was great, convenient parking, and clean restaurant. Lots of customer service kudos to our waiter, Michael U. — very friendly and attentive — took great care of us. We’ll be back.

Rating: 2⁄5 Date(s) visited: 2÷19÷2011, a couple times before. Food 4⁄5 Service 3⁄5 Atmosphere 4⁄5 Price 3⁄5 Parking 3⁄5 This is another«Customer service fixer-upper.» Fix your customer service, get your shit together, and everything will fall into place. There’s a reason why people refer the food as «Comfort Food…» comfortable for the stomach, and comfortable for the wallet. Much more parking at this location. Food: Can’t complain about comfort food. Service: Our server was okay, but our host, which seemed to the the Manager on Duty or Cashier, did not have the most welcoming attitude. This is where I deducted 1 star to the original 3 star’s that I was originally going to give. I would only come back here as a last resort, no where else to go type of decision. Atmosphere: Your typical Denny’s(no walk-up counter dining, which Denny’s is originally known for). This particular location has a lot of dining space. Price: Moderately priced for«The Average Joe.» If you sign up for their club(Denny’s Rewards), they send you coupons you can use for cheap. Here’s the site: Parking: This location has its own lot that it shares with other retail and business shops.

Okay, it’s a Denny’s. Going in, I wasn’t expecting much. In fact, I expected the worst. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. The dining room looked clean. The service was prompt and courteous. And the food was pretty good and very cheap. All four of us ordered our lunches from the $ 2/$ 4/$ 6/$ 8 promotional menu. There were quite a few meals to choose from at those low prices. We each made a different choice and none of us were disappointed with the taste or value of our meals. Without being asked to do so, the server brought our single check itemized for each person. That made it very easy for us to split the check. a nice touch. So yes, it’s a Denny’s, and no matter how highly it’s rated, it’s still a Denny’s. But if you’re going to eat at a Denny’s, wouldn’t you rather do so at one that gets good ratings?

The scariest thing at this Denny’s was like 3 years ago when there was a naked homeless guy taking a bath in the men’s restroom sink. The management let my friend use the women’s restroom after checking that there was no women inside. Other than that… we keep coming back to this Denny’s to grab a late dinner. Its cheap, and there’s always those coupons in the pearlridge booklets on the side. I don’t know about during the day, but dinner to late night, service is pretty good. Actually sometimes they get overworked, but we always get kind waiters/waitresses. the last time we went, we got the manager or someone(she was dressed differently). Wavy-cut fries, I have to say, those things are pretty good. Order a side of cheese sauce, and its even better. Everything else is nothing out of the ordinary. Burgers, breakfast, and stuff on the dinner menu that we usually never touch. Oh desserts sure are fun all the time though. A couple of times they’ve even given us extra scoops of ice cream. Keep coming back: Its not the best, but its good enough, and its 24-hours «It is always sad when someone leaves home, unless they are simply going around the corner and will return in a few minutes with ice-cream sandwiches.» — Lemony Snicket

It’s been months since the last reviewer. This is what I saw: 1. Rude service from mean-looking-and-acting waitress. No, I had a polite Asian/maybe Chinese national waiter who refilled my decaf. coffee and checked many times if everything was okay. He brought me an A1 also. 2. Slow service from the aforementioned waitress. Not this time, read above. 3. Hard french-fries that even my son wouldn’t eat. No, I haven’t eaten fries since August 2009 and I don’t have children. 4. A burger ordered medium arriving burnt. No, my loco moco was fine with a lot of sauteed onions and one egg. They just didn’t have any brown rice, only steamed. 5. Over-abundance of SUV-sized strollers in restaurant. No, I didn’t see any today and I don’t have any children. Are people with young children not to be permitted to eat here or leave their strollers in the car? 6. An impossibly long line just to pay for the damn food. No, there was one military couple in front of me paying. That was it. There was also coupons in the Sunday paper from the other week. I used one and left the others on the table. The Pearlridge mall magazine also has a Denny’s coupon. Parking is also free, across the street. Maybe the employees read all of the one star Unilocal reviews from months ago?
