Used to go here often, noticed that workers get careless around closing time and don’t tend to customers. Very pricey for sushi that isn’t all that great… rather go to makotos

Spicy ahi didn’t have too much flavor compared to other genkis. Garlic chicken was more cold than warm, good flavor, but was not crispy like other genkis. Waitress was good and refilled our drinks three times, didn’t seem happy about her job though, was really dull and monotone.

They have a different system to getting seated compared to other Genki locations. We had to wait about 20 minutes, which wasn’t bad. They have the race car delivery system and the IPad to order. They also have the kuru kuru belt, but if your sitting against the wall it only order with the iPad. I ate my favorite the scallop mayo. It was so yummy! I also ordered the pumpkin tempura. My daughter also enjoyed her food! I will be back to this location.

I haven’t done a review in such a long time. I am kinda disappointed that my first review in awhile is a 1 star review. I don’t like writing this kinds of reviews, but I am writing in hopes that they see this and make some changes for the sake of the customers. Okay to begin it was a Saturday nite when we went to PearlRidge, I expected it to be crowded but being it was around 730PM we didn’t mind the wait. We had a party of 5. As I walked in to pull a number, they were actually really nice and immediately advised me that the wait was going to be around 20 mins. I was fine with that and mentioned I would go to Ross’ to kill time. We had our son wait since he didnt want to follow. My son called me when they were about 2 numbers away from ours. Immediately we started heading back(1 min walk). The gentlemen at the door whom was calling numbers were VERYRUDE to my son, not knowing I was on the phone with him while this was going on. There wasn’t that much ppl waiting already as there was about an hour left before closing. He proceeded to tell me son that he will give a minute to get there and he will pass it on, he told my son that all parties needed to be there before he seats us. My son explained I was already on my way. Mind you, I explained to him that my son was going to wait and we will be near by, he failed to mention that we all needed to be there, which as much times as we go to the Waikele one, we NEVER have to have everyone in our party to be seated. Well we got seated even without our whole party there. As we got seated it was as if we were the talk of the restaurant bc everyone in the corner all stopped talking and looked str8 at us. Already I was a little irritated with that, but I let it go. I was ready to indulge. Okay so our waiter(I forgot her name) was very good, the only thing is she spoke really fast and unclear, but she always made sure we were okay up until the last half hour of our stay. We went ahead and ordered one of their mushroom specials that they had that nite. Our waiter mentioned that she placed the order for us and it would be out shortly. Well… we asked about every 15 minutes how it was going with our mushrooms and same answer«its almost done, it should be out». You can imagine what happened next right? Yups almost 45 mins go buy and NOSTUFFEDMUSHROOMS. We flagged the waitress down and this is where I lost respect for this place. At this point when mention that we never got it and all we were waiting for was the stuff mushrooms all we got was«Oh they got confused and thought they sent it out, so they just cancelled the order, sorry about that» and she walks away. I was baffled by 1-the answer we got, 2-NO sincere apology or we’ll take the other mushroom off the bill, 3-didnt even bother to ask if we needed anything else. We waited 45 mins for stuff mushrooms that we were frequently checking on and repeatedly was told it was almost done. I know to some reading this it may sound petty, but to me, I was irritated due to the fact that it seemed like the closer they got to closing time, they just didnt care. I really hope that management works on their employees to speak clearly, not make ppl feel like they are being rushed, and not be so rude and if they have a policy about seating everyone in the party they should have a sign, unless they do and I just didnt see it…

Welcome another Genki. Hope it’s not going to be like Zippys, Seven-11, or Starbucks, to name a few. Their locations are so close to each other, it’s no longer a question of what we eat, but where. Since, Genki have been pretty consistent in quality my reviews are getting pretty verbatim. So I’m going to review the store. Wait time is about average and consistent with all locations. The wait staff must have hit the ground running, because for a new crew, I was impressed. Answered all my questions without having to go check. Was aware of all menu concerns. No problems with keeping a good mixture on the belt. Something all locations should learn from here, is that they were pretty spot on in guessing how long before a selection would come out on the express or belt. Could be the experience from serving a huge number of people, or there is exceptional communication among the crew. I usually avoid the belt because I never know how long an item has been out. But, that didn’t seem to be a problem. The nori was crisp, rice just a little warm, and the fish wasn’t room temperature or cold. They need to change their oil because everything fried tasted like salmon. Even the Oyster fry, melon, and soft shell had a Salmon aftertaste. The mushrooms are noticeability smaller. Bathrooms are in the mall downstairs. So if you have to go mid-meal, sorry… Use the restroom and wash your hands before you sign in. They are still strict with your entire party must be there to be seated.

I’ve been here twice and will never eat here again. Waited 30 minutes for our takeout order only to find out that it had been sitting — after we were told that they’d bring it out to us. The excuse I was given was«I just got back from break and no one told me.» Really bad customer service. One star rating because I have to.

Had lunch here with my mom and son. Got seated rather quickly considering it had a busy lunch rush. Now, usually I have no problems when I come to this location, but today was something totally different. Now, the reason I’m knocking off three stars… 1. Although we placed our order on that iPad thing, we didn’t receive most of our food. Waiting, waiting, waiting… Never came. 2. None of the waitresses came by, not ONCE the whole time being there. Not to ask if we were doing ok, not to refill our water, nothing! 3. There was one waitress who stood at the table directly across from ours and talked to her friends(who were dining in) for 15 minutes. No, I’m not exaggerating. I tried to get her name, but couldn’t make it out. Her name started with a J and she wore a black shirt, not yellow. 4. After finishing our lunch, we waited 20 minutes… Again, no one came by. I had to stand up and wave an employee over to get our bill. Then, she didn’t even write it, she walked off for another 5 minutes then came back. Worst«customer service» ever!

This Genki Sushi location recently opened at Pearlridge Mall. It’s on the second level of Pearlridge Mall’s Uptown section, near Ross Dress For Less and one of the Satellite City Hall offices. During my first time dining here, I was greeted and seated immediately(granted it was not exactly during the peak dinner period), and even though this may be a smaller location, seems like there is quite a bit of seating. Almost all of their popular menu items were available on the conveyor belt and so I didn’t really have to use the ordering tablet(well, actually I did for one item towards the end of my meal). The service was pretty good when going that time; it exceeded my expectations given what I’ve experienced at other locations in recent dining visits(Ala Moana and Kaneohe).

The little Munchkin really loves Genki Sushi. So when she begged to come here after a visit at Hickam FCU, how can I say no? This Genki Sushi is new and located on the 2nd floor of Uptown Pearlridge. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the customary greeting. It was lunch time, but it wasn’t crowded yet. I asked if we could sit in a booth instead of the individual chairs around the conveyer belt. The host was accommodating. He did tell us that the booth we were going to be seated at was an order only booth(not near the conveyer belt). We were ok with that. The inside was VERY clean! As we were seated, we were met by our waitress. She explained that because we were in an order only booth, that we would have to order using the touch pad above our table. What happens is, you place your order on the touch pad, wait a few minutes, then your food gets delivered by a race car in the delivery system next to your booth. I know that may not be the best way to describe it, but I guess you should just see it. The kids got to ordering while I just checked out the place. There seem to more booths than individual chairs. I like it, but it may be a hassle when the place gets busy. The waiters/waitresses are absolutely on point. They literally seem to be there before you need a refill. They came by quite regularly to check up on us. If people had problems with their orders, they were happy to tutor you on how to order or to make corrections on accidental orders. We had no problems with our food ordering. We like having food speed by or drive up to our table. The food itself was ok. I’m not a big fan of sushi, so I just order the regular things like tuna mayo, salad, ika karrage. The food was prepared well and tasty. My children seemed to enjoy their food a lot because there were no leftovers. I had a good lunch here. The staff is attentive and the price is reasonable. I will definitely be coming back! (33)

Very convenient for this genki sushi to be at pearlridge. I love how all tables have access to the bullet train express to order items instead of trying to flag down waitress/waiters all the time. I’ve been coming here in the morning a lot like around 11am for either a late breakfast, early lunch, or even brunch on the weekdays. There’s never a wait! I have been here during dinner time and of course they do get busy. Average wait time I experience for dinner on both weekdays and weekends vary from 15 – 45 minutes. The staff is also very friendly and when I bring in my one year old son they always offer a plastic spoon, fork, high chair, booster, and everything a parent could need for their toddler. Food typically comes out average 5 minute max depending on what you order on weekday mornings. Of course fried food takes a little longer since it’s made to order. During dinner time, the time for can range for maybe 5 – 20 minutes. It’s either were that hungry and feels like forever or they get that slammed back there in the kitchen. Food is always fresh however I mostly never eat off the moving belt since idk how long those plates have been on there. Will forsure always be returning to this genki sushi. Price wise isn’t as great as sushi Bay in kapolei but since I live in Pearl city, 10 min away from pearlridge this place is perfect. I can walk off our full tummies after at the mall! :)

My husband and I came here a couple months ago and I’m just now getting to writing this review. I was born and raised in Japan, therefor I know all about good sushi and these sushi rolling service. I’ve told me husband numerous times about it, and during our stay in Hawaii, we stumbled upon this gem. I was hesitant at first because l didn’t want it to ruin my memory of Japan and didn’t want my husband to have a bad experience. Once seated, it took a few minutes to get greeted but my husband was so fascinated at the technology that I didn’t mind. We figured out how to order on the screen and on came our food shooting out the kitchen on the little train! It was so much fun, we had a blast. The food was great, similar to home. My husband didn’t like certain items but, I believe it’s an acquired taste not that the food wasn’t good(I liked it!) Overall, I recommend this location. It was clean, quick, good food! A must if you’re visiting from the mainland :)

I came here for lunch and I was pretty impressed. The customer service is on point. I was greeted at the door and seated promptly. I was confused about ordering since it was my first time, but Someone came and helped me by explaining the ordering process. Super cool! You order right from an ipad in front of you. When it’s ready it comes by a little train. How cool is that? My only complaint was the Hamachi. I get Hamachi EVERY time I eat sushi and this was not that good. The slices were SUPER thin and one piece looked like it was only half of a slice. Little disappointed there. But other than that everything else was Ono! They even have the cutest cupcakes for dessert. Yum. Pretty good spot, and awesome service.

I got pretty excited that they opened a Genki Sushi in Pearlridge since it is the closest location to Salt Lake. Plus, my favorite store(TJ Maxx) is right downstairs! I’m not sure why Genki Sushi gets 3 ½ stars on Unilocal.I’ve gone here a handful of times and have received excellent and quick service every visit. I’ve only had to wait for a table once, and I got seated within a few minutes. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and my tea and water is constantly refilled. I receive my order fairly quickly and end up only spending 30 minutes there, which is amazing so I can go right back to shopping! Will continue to go here for my sushi fix! For military folks, don’t forget Mon-Thurs you can get a military discount!

It’s Genki! I can never get enough of Genki sushi ordering from a touch screen menu and having it deliver out to me on a cute race car or space shuttle on the conveyer belt. I think I get excited as much as a little kid does! Anyway I don’t have any complaints about this location. Food is always fresh when I order them. Staff is always friendly and they are there checking up on you making sure you got everything you need. My dad and I come every weekend(to the point where I think we’re familiar looking to them lol) as part of our daddy and daughter quality time, other times my mom would come along too and my boyfriend when he isn’t overseas working.

Sometimes despite the fact that I prefer higher quality ingredients the child in me says«oooh bullet trains and IPad ordering!» and my inner child wins over my pallet. The battle between inner child and smarter taste buds was most recently waged while in Pearlridge Mall one evening and well, inner child won. Not surprisingly, there was a wait, but I’m not sure if it was the fact that we said we’d sit at either the counter or a table or if they’re just really efficient, but we had ticket 47 and they called ticket 32 shortly after our arrival, but we were seated in less than fifteen(15) minutes. We scored a seat at the counter and being that it was our first time at a Genki(we’ve done Kuru Kuru) and touch screen ordering, our server went over how to use the IPad for one touch ordering and took our drink orders. Touch screen ordering allows you to order up to four(4) items at a time, and you can also pull items from the belt as they go by. Because I’m a toddler, my favorite part of the whole meal was of course having items delivered to our seats on a spaceship. Some items came out faster than the speed of light while some tempura items took so long I began to wonder if they were in fact in the fields harvesting the kabocha. One item we even cancelled since ten minutes had passed and they hadn’t been able to catch the fish from the sea to send over on the space ship. Overall, this Genki is a fun place as long as you know what you’re getting. This isn’t your top of the line sushi that you’d pay the extra money for elsewhere, but it’s a fun place to dine and it hits the spot especially when roaming the mall. Service is friendly and honestly, who doesn’t like getting food on a rocket ship?

I really like this location. Since it’s new, it’s not stupid crowded yet. The booths here are quite large and spacious, and could easily sit 6 – 8 adults with big appetites. The waitstaff are also very attentive and nice. When we came here just after the evening rush for dinner, there were plenty of seats and the food we ordered on the ipad came out quickly. My husband, who is picky about his sushi, was impressed by the«bullet train» delivery system and in particular the Pink Dragon Roll. He loved it so much he had 2 plates!(That’s a big deal for a Mainland guy who is wary of «fast food”-style sushi). My kids loved watching the food go round and round, and it actually made my picky 8 year-old want to try different plates of food other than his tried-and-true garlic chicken.

We finally got to try out the new Genki Sushi at Pearlridge! It’s located on the Uptown side of the mall, near Ross. We figure that we give it some time for the crowd to die down from their grand opening. My son really enjoys sushi(maybe it’s cause I used to sneak in a piece or two while I working at the Kapolei location when I was pregnant with him lol) and wanted to eat there after we went shopping so we brought him. It was actually bigger than I expected and very clean. Thought it was pretty cute with all their Christmas deco too! We were given our ticket but not even a minute after giving our ticket, they had a table ready for us! Sat down, and of course my son had to sit right next to the belt cause he’s our designated button pusher each time we go to a Genki that has the bullet train. All the servers were very attentive with refilling our water and hot tea, always asking if we were ok.

This new Genki just opened recently, and my mom and I decided to stop by for lunch on a Saturday during a brief Pearlridge run. The wait wasn’t too long – only 10 – 20 minutes for the two of us – but we only really had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated. This Genki is really clean, from the entrance to the menus and everything in between. The booths are all nice; we sat at one more on the outskirts of the restaurant. This eatery isn’t super big on the inside, but the booths felt really spacious. I was also really impressed by the check-in system at the front of the store; it was much more efficient than just leaving your name. Instead, you get a ticket with a number on it, and they call your number when there’s an open table. The booths in the center of the restaurant can enjoy the convenience of the conveyor belt that’s characteristic of Genki, but if you’re sitting on the outer tables, like we were, you have to be more intentional in ordering. My mom and I didn’t mind, though, because we had an idea of what we wanted. I would definitely return to this Genki, as long as I go early because by the time we left around 12:30 p.m., the wait time had extended to 30 minutes. Here’s what we got: «Salmon Karaage»: The menu says this item is a limited-edition choice, so I wanted to get it before it wasn’t available anymore. I really enjoyed it and wouldn’t think twice before ordering it again. It’s basically fried pieces of succulent salmon and it comes in a bowl(like the«Teriyaki Chicken Bowl»). It doesn’t include rice, but it does include a slightly spicy sauce that’s drizzled on top. I was pleased to see that they didn’t skimp on the salmon pieces and there was plenty in the bowl to share with my mom. The salmon was lightly fried and the batter didn’t feel heavy. Hope this stays on the menu for a while. «Teriyaki Chicken Bowl»: This is one of my mom’s favorites and she usually gets it during any Genki trip. It includes white rice, tender pieces of flavorful teriyaki chicken and that subtly sweet teri glaze. Though the bowl came with less chicken than I remembered it to, my mom said the taste was consistent with what she got at other Genkis and she enjoyed her dish. «Vegetable Croquette»: This was the only other item my mom ordered, but we both like it because the croquette – which contains mostly soft potato – is lightly battered and fried. The exterior is always a nice, golden brown and sufficiently crispy. I just like this one because you taste the potato interior more than the chopped veggies. «Spam and Tamago Roll»: I’ve tried the spam sushi and tamago, but never got this combination roll before. If spam musubi were chopped up and included an egg, this is what you would get. I really liked the convenient size of this roll – chopped in four petite pieces – and the sauce drizzled on top was savory and flavorful. Definitely one of my new favorites and I’m glad Genki is always adding new things to its menu.

Yay, a new Genki is opening up at Pearlridge between Hickam Federal Credit Union and Salon Bobbi & Guy. I eat at Genki quite often. I love their spicy ahi bowl, karate aka, and the different veggie tempuras. The spicy ahi bowl is delicious with the teriyaki sauce on top. I wish they would give more, but for $ 4, the amount is decent. The sushi rice from Genki is always on point. I love that their tempuras are crispy. This location has the new bullet express conveyor belt system. You order the food on the iPad. The food is sent to you on the bullet car. It’s fast and the food comes quickly.
