I had the Phở with eye round steak, the broth was so good. Also had the shredded pork rolls and spring rolls, perfect! This is now my favorite phở place on west of town. Veggies are fresh, Cups of water are big. Service is excellent. The bathroom is only open to customers. You have to go through kitchen to get there, but its neat to see how the food is prepared. Kitchen is really clean, chicken looks fresh!

This is one of my regular phở places. The broth is good and noodles too — I always get the meatball and rare steak phở. The cups of water are huge, veggies are always fresh, and service isn’t bad either. It’s always busy so be prepared to wait, has good AC so don’t worry about sweating while eating a super hot bowl of soup, and don’t forget that you walk up to the counter to pay so you’re not sitting there waiting for a check. The only one downside is their iced coffee with the condensed milk. It’s a bit sour/burnt tasting but maybe it was an off-night. I saw a lot of people ordering the egg rolls(fried) and the summer rolls(rice paper). Will try these next time I decide to venture away from my soup. –happy customer :)

I usually don’t write reviews, but I had to do this one. I frequently order phở at least 3 times a month at Pho50. Recently I ordered 2 takeout combo phở’s and it did not contain any tendons or tripes. So I went back today to get my regular takeout order and told them my last order had no tendons or tripe. Only at the last moment they said they will add extra tendons and tripe, no apologies, nothing. Being nice I said thank you. When I got home, there was very little tripe and tendons. And also the meat portions was like half of before. Where was the added extra tendons and tripe? Sheez I pay $ 23 for 2 combo phở’s and feel I got ripped off. I am taking my phở orders someplace else. Like at Westridge. You guys just lost a steady customer.

The BEST phở place on the island by far!!! I have tried many different locations however by far this place has the best phở! Service is great and restaurant is clean! I noticed there aren’t many grease from fat floating on top which is a HUGE plus to me! Soup taste great and summer roll is to die for! If you’re in aiea area you must try this place out!

Never having eaten Phở, we picked this place based on the reviews and location. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed the richness of the broth and the«medium» size was more than enough to accommodate even the biggest eater. Definitely a great choice!

So we always come here, but today when we came there was all new faces(workers) we ordered 2 medium phở’s &&2 orders of spring rolls. As we was eating there was a roach crawling. In my vegetables … My grandma showed the cook and all he could say was«Oooo» “We get the vegetables from outside”. How disgusting ! What’s more worst is that they did not comp anything and made us pay for our food, that I didn’t even finish cause I was so disgusted ! If the owner was working, it would be a different story !! Last time I’m ever coming here !!!

If this place was that good, I would have remembered. If this place was that bad, I also would have remembered. To put it simply, I did not have a very memorable experience. All I do remember is leaving full, but not satisfied. There is a difference between the two.

Not too impressed with the phở here. The broth lacked flavor, I felt it was missing some spices that makes a traditional phở aromatic. The com Thit nuong, a grilled pork rice dish however was decent. The pork was smoked right. For a Vietnamese restaurant with the name PHO in it, I was expecting better phở.

So you get off of work and go, «I want phở». The next thing you should say is «lets go to Phở five-0 «because there is no better. This has not just become my go-to phở place, but my go-to place period. The staff are all nice, the service is quick, and the food is consistently delicious. I have ordered chicken phở, vermicelli noodle dishes(bbq beef is the best), and even the beef tripe with tendon(actually surprised me with how good it was). This place is simple, no frills. If you are looking for the next gastronomical place, then this is not it. If you just want good phở, then why are you still on Unilocal and not in the car going to phở five-0? Better yet, dont go… means less of a crowd for me. Oh and get the Vietnamese egg rolls… mmmmmmmmmm

The phở is pretty good. The only thing is every time I eat here with my wife and son the bill always seems to be over 50 $. Maybe it’s just hawaii. But back in California it was never over 25.

Phở Three-O… I was craving phở today and went to this vietnamese place… I am still craving some good phở. Atmosphere: Hidden amongst other restaurant along Kam highway. You could easily miss this place. The first thing I noticed were the bags of water with pennies hung from the ceilings to keep the flies away. I didn’t see any flies if that counts for anything. Service: Great service. The waiter was very attentive and knew exactly when to come over to take our order. Food: We ordered the medium phở with round steak and brisket along with some summer rolls to start. The food was solid, and definitely would come again if I were in Aiea, but wouldn’t make the trip out here for Vietnamese. There are plenty of better options in Chinatown. Intangibles: Plenty of parking available. Decent vietnamese.

my boyfriend loves phở so we’ve become regulars at this spot. the service is usually pretty quick and the staff is always friendly. it’s a small place so it can fill up during rush hour times for lunch/dinner but the turnover rate is quick since you get your food fairly quickly after ordering. almost everything on the menu is under $ 10 and they have a variety of different items on their menu. my boyfriend usually orders a large phở with eye round steak, beef balls & brisket(# 15). he can eat a lot and that usually fills him. I’m not a huge fan of phở so I usually order banh mi(Vietnamese sandwich with French bread, cilantro, pickled carrots, mayo). I love their lemon grass tofu. it has a little kick to it but it’s not too spicy. and sometimes we’ll order their summer rolls or spring rolls. both are really good! I have ordered their other plate lunches before, but it’s a little bland tasting.

After losing my favorite phở place… I was on the hunt for a replacement«go to» spot. I tried Phở Five-O and I was pleasantly surprised. A small restaurant located in the Waimalu Shopping Center. This place gets busy at night and parking can be tough sometimes with all the other establishments. It takes a while sometimes but at some point you’ll find a spot. We’ve dined it and done take out for home(and take out for work). The restaurant is clean and the A/C is cold! They bring water right away. The staff is very nice and the lady owner is super sweet and so friendly(I wonder if she ever has a bad day because she’s always smiling and so nice)… The menu is pretty large and they have appetizers(spring rolls, summer rolls, etc). phở(small, large, different meats, etc)… fried rice, other plate lunches, other noodles, there’s a lot! They also have bubble drinks as well(the place down the strip mall makes em) and the thai tea is very good here. I usually get the spring rolls(DELICIOUS) and the beef ball phở. The broth is light in color but it has good flavor. The veggies are generous. The honey dew bubble drink is very good. My husband has tried the fried rice and all he said was it’s ‘different’ but that he likes it. The BBQ chicken summer rolls are pretty good too. When we order take out for work, everyone loves the BBQ chicken with vermicelli. Accepts credit cards! Portions are generous!

Had a phở craving do decided to go here for lunch. The noodles are very al dente and I prefer them to be bit softer. Broth here isn’t bad. Beef meat was thinly sliced like how I liked it. Portion sizes here seemed ok. Service was ok.

Location/Parking: The restaurant is located in the Waimalu Shopping Center across from Best Buy and near the Pearlridge Shopping Center. The parking is reasonable but it can get crowded during the lunch and dinner rush. Food/Drinks: I LOVE the food here! I’m never disappointed. My absolute favorite dish here is the papaya salad. I don’t know what they do to the papaya salad but it is the best papaya salad I’ve ever ate. The other items that I usually order from here are the spring rolls, summer rolls, steak and meatball phở and the Vietnamese iced coffee. I like that they don’t overload my coffee with ice. They recently started serving bubble drinks(boba) and banh mi. I’ve yet to try the banh mi but I’m definitely coming back soon to try it. Price: The prices are comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants around O’ahu. My family of 3 usually spends less than $ 35 for everything above including tip. Seating Area: There are 9 tables that seat 4 people on each table.(3 tables do connect to each other in the middle of the restaurants.) The turnaround for this restaurant is fast. If you have to wait, your wait time would be less than 10 minutes. Service: The service is awesome! I never had an issue with my order being wrong, food is made quick and the workers always have a smile on their face. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs their fix on Vietnamese food. The service is awesome and the food is delicious.

On a Friday night outside of Honolulu, finding a place to park is about as easy to come by as a Pele sighting! I was determined to have lemongrass chicken this night would do anything and everything to get some! After being rebuffed on my attempts to visit my usual stop, I was driving up the road and did the Unilocal search thing on my phone for all things Vietnamese nearby(with one eye looking for the law too!). It came to a point when I finally decided I was just going to go back on visit my favorite place one way or another. But on the way, I happened to find this shop on the other side of the road and earlier noted it had the highest Unilocal rating. I came close to the parking rebuff again but then BINGO! I was in! Of course, I didn’t need to look at a menu — I just asked if they had lemongrass chicken. They did and I told them that’s what I wanted! This shop is rather smallish, very well lit, and has a nice atmosphere. I ordered summer rolls to go along with my lemongrass and rice and they were the best I’ve ever had. They use mint in them and all the elements in the roll are fresh and tasty even without the sauce. The lemongrass chicken was spicier than any I’ve experienced in the past. I later learned that this shop follows the traditional way of making it. I had no problem with that! Overall, I was treated very well. Being my first time in this outlet I quickly learned that they do things a little differently than some restaurants, but I had no issues that would knock down their score for that. It is the best Vietnamese cuisine I experienced on the Island yet and a shop I would definitely frequent. I almost didn’t get my parking spot and I would have missed out one something special! I’m glad it didn’t turn out that way! Recommend: VERYHIGH — a great ma and pa shop!

I had to try this phở place for myself since I read some good reviews. I haven’t found any good phở place out of town. But I’m glad I tried this place. I went there around 6pm and it filled up very quickly. People started waiting outside. I got the combo phở without tripe. I like all different varietie of meats in my phở. The soup was on the clear side which I liked. I can tell the phở was nicely arranged and meats were in small piece. And it was good. I could smell someone else’s BBQ plate. I want to try that next time. It smelled so good. As for service, it was okay. No one was grumpy. They don’t bring the check to you so pay at the register. No problem.

I will definitely be a regular at Phở Five-O from now on — in fact, within just one week, I came here three times! The food comes out hot(or cold — if that’s how you ordered it), which I really like when it comes to phở. They give a generous amount of add-ins(bean sprouts, thai basil, etc.) along with the phở and they refill the veggies when you’re running low! My mom(who also enjoyed eating here) ordered the rice vermicelli with chicken and it was really good! If you get the combo, it’s served alongside a spring or summer roll, to which she ordered the summer roll… one of the BEST I’ve had on the island, hands down. The summer roll is served with a generous amount of peanut sauce. The thing I really liked about this summer roll is that the outside is still chewy — sometimes you go to places and the outside is like rubber, yuck! Phở Five-O serves up delicious food quickly and for reasonable prices. If you’re looking for someplace with great Vietnamese food on the West side of Oahu, be sure to hit this restaurant up!
