The first glass was dirty so I sent it back. I watched her look for a clean glass. picked up one, lipstick stainS. she picked up another one… still dirty.ummm.WTF, don’t you guys know how to wash dishes?! I almost really wanted to like this place since it was close to home and wanted to support the local businesses but. sorry, didn’t get a good impression. The bartender lady was nice about it at least! About an hour in of hanging out there with some friends, I started to look around. is this a «by me drinky» bar?! It could be. I’m outta here.

As of July 1, 2015, Star Karaōke Box got turned over to new management. In a short time this bar made changes immediately. Some of the previous employees don’t work there any longer. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food is pretty good. Wednesday’s are«FREE» Karaōke night and OMG, everyone, excellent and not so show up to sing their favorite tunes. STAR’s customers change with the wind on a daily basis. You have your day crowd, older people that are pretty much regulars. Then you have the after work crowd, usually your«hard working» people that just want to unwind. Then you have your evening crowd that love to sing and have a few drinks. And lastly the big difference is that your weekday crowd are different from your weekend crowd. It’s really a melting pot of all aspects of our island. You have groups of men that love to drink and relax and you also will see a bunch of girl friends who love to drink and relax. The bar is cleaner, the A/C works regularly, and service has improved quite a bit. I believe Tuesday they have pool tournaments which I think it’s a club that gets together once a week at STAR. Overall I think it’s a nice place to kick back and relax being with your circle of friends and it’s not a bad place to take your significant other. If you had past bad experiences at STAR I say give it another chance. I believe you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

This place was a horrible karaōke experience. I gave the very rude bartender a $ 5 and two songs. She the proceeded(without asking) to put all the money into the karaōke machine. I had only given her 2 songs to play. Then she made a mistake when I gave her my last 3 songs so that only one played. When I brought her mistake to her attention she got upset and pretended to speak less English. I will never come back here again. Went down to the corner to Christine’s Lounge! It was much better karaōke experience. Super friendly!!!

I’m not a big fan of going to Korean bars, but my friend works here, so I decided to check it out. The karaōke list is decent, including Hawaiian, local, Filipino, probably some Korean songs, too. I stuck to the regular list. The mandoo is really good, and so is their tempura. The drinks are reasonably priced. They have a pool table and dart boards, too. Nice place to have a pau hana gathering.

This place is a dump! The 1 older waitress with curly dried out hair couldn’t even be honest with us in regards to the karaōke. We got there at 9pm and waited patiently all night for just 6 songs but she only put in 3 and then tried to brush it off as to there were other people who put in songs before us and that wasn’t even true because guys who came in after us were singing away so you know they only take care of their regulars which made a very bad impression with us newbies. On top of being jerked around she couldn’t even keep up with our drinks so we all sat there with an empty glass most of the time. 2 drink minimum not by choice! Would have wanted to drink more since they don’t play the songs you pay for. Now, lets get to the food. Gross and very bland. The chicken had a weird after taste and the fries were too mushy and they are really stingy with ketchup. Avoid this place and don’t waste your money! This has been one of the worst karaōke bars we have ever been to.

I dont like this place. They are rude! That one lady with the curly hair is impatient just because she is working alone. She shouldn’t be working in a bar if she is impatient. Burnt fries. Bleeding pork.

Went here lastnight. Surprisingly inside isn’t anything like outside. Bartender was super nice and helpful. Drinks were okay and prices weren’t bad at all. Will definitely be back.

Not really knowing where to go for a cheap drink and some karaōke in the Pearl City area, my friends and I decided to give this little spot a shot. I actually think this place needs a gigantic overhaul, a new staff, and better music. Its a total dive bar, but not a good place to go and I would never recommend anyone else to go here. The person serving drinks barely understood what we were saying when we asked for a shot of Stoli and a redbull vodka(which she charged us $ 10 for). When it came to the Karaōke, the lady did not even know how to change the tv to show the lyrics, type in the numbers on the machine. Overall, this place was a huge waste of money, and we quickly left after finishing out drinks and went down the strip to another bar, called Christine’s Lounge

I’ve been here a few times when I used to work in the area. After work a few of my coworkers and myself would go to have a few drinks and sometimes celebrate a birthday. We’ve always had fun here but sometimes it can be quite scary because some sketchy people would go there. I’d always have a friend walk me to my car because I would be scared not knowing who would pop out of no where. The food was always great.

Although this place had a bad name for itself when they had the guy that got slashed with a samurai sword a couple years ago, its still a great place to go to. The beer is cheap, the food is ok and its what you would expect from a local neighborhood bar. Located in the Waimalu Shopping Center, near Shiro’s and Kapiolani Coffee Shop. I cant really say much as this is just a local neighborhood bar.

I go here once in a while when I feel like kicking back with friends and sing a song or two. It’s a pretty cool place with cool people. Beer is not too expensive and the service is always great. Of course, like any other karaōke bar, you have to endure the bad singing and enjoy the good ones but all in all it’s a nice place to just chill out and throw back a few beers. Their steak is good but SMALL portion for the price you pay. The rest of the pupus are typical bar food. Fries, soybeans, etc. Not the cheapest price but if you’re hungry, you’ll buy it.
