Pizza Joint

The Pizza Joint is one of my husbands favorite places to eat in Aiken. When we moved here several years ago, this was the first local place we ate & I actually told him I never wanted to return because the service was awful! We indeed tried it again several months later, and I am oh, so glad we did! The service is tons better than our first experience & the pizza is delicious! Tonight we tried their fried Mac & cheese balls and they were just as good! My children could have gobbled them all up within seconds! I am also always pleasantly surprised come check time! Our family of 6 can eat here for under $ 40! The 20″ pizza at the Pizza Joint is massive! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken tonight and it was decent, not superb but decent. Our server tonight was also super friendly & didn’t roll her eyes or get annoyed that she was serving a family with small children. I always love seeing that! We can’t wait to return to The Pizza Joint soon!

Good beer and cocktails. We ordered pizza that took a while, but the manager came out and gave us some for free, which was very nice. It wasn’t even that long of a wait for a pizza place (20 minutes) and they still were very nice and helpful. Love this place

Great food. Very very tasty and one large Pizza Fed me and 3 others plus a 2 year old. The server was friendly and attentive to our needs. Brought out our Pizza quickly and my son’s noodles shortly after. The atmosphere is very nice and inviting and laid back. When ever I am in town I will be back.

It may be called Pizza Joint, but their Wings are amazing. The garlic knots and fresh batteries mushrooms are delicious. We had the teriyaki wings, but the name hides the layers of flavored: chili pepper flakes, fennel and much more devious goodness.

This was a good place to eat. Would go there with a table full of friends every Tuesday for a special they offered. The stopped the special so we stopped our weekly visits. Went there a couple nights ago and was very disappointed in the food quality and quantity. Obviously something has changed. Food wasn’t even served in the same way. With a Mellow Mushroom opening a block away you would think that they would step up their game. They did just the opposite. Go to Mellow Mushroom and wait for a new restaurant to open in the Pizza Joint location.

Flat Newcastle beer. A «I can only go through the motions bartender». Don’t think I will be back anytime soon. Mr manager, you better put some thing through evaluation. Just saying.

We came in from out of town and decided to give them a try. Huge mistake! I can’t even say the pizza was a plate of hot garbage because it was lukewarm garbage. The dough was undercooked and there was probably a half cup of flour on the bottom of the soft crust. The server was nice but disappeared for long stretches and delivered our appetizer to the wrong table. When they finally arrived the «famous» dough balls were cold and inedible.
I love the town but will never eat here or any of the other locations.

I’ve had good experiences here and I’ve had bad experiences here. My last two have not been very good. The time before last, the waitress took my order and went outside to get on the phone. I think she may have had a family issue, but I sat there for 50 minutes before I got my lunch, and this was during the work week. The last time I went here, my pizza came out cold. I sent it back, it came out cold again. I sent it back the second time, it came out cold the 3^rd time. The prices are reasonable for lunch, but they need to tighten things up or I’ll stop going!

Great pizza and great product. I had the meat lovers calzone. The server was nice and kept the drinks full. The wait for the pizza is verrrry long and the only reason I am only giving 3 stars.

Here we go again. Decided to try pizza joint again after almost a year. Use to get weekly. Service was slow and we each had a
Slice pizza and they were warm at best. Salads came after the pizza. No 1000 island. Gave 2 stars for the tea. Although you could hardly get a refill. Looking forward to mellow mushroom.

After over an hour of waiting… I had to walk out. no food, no «we are sorry». Just cooks singing and lol’n and some annoying guy happy abt a 20 $ tip as he dances all over the damn place. If food is cooked in order… why ppl that came in after us done eating and we still have no food!!! Never again !!! — feeling aggravated

I have been in Aiken 3 weeks and I can’t resist this place. They have good beers on tap and good service. The pizza is good too. I mean how can you screw up pizza but it is good none the less. I hear this is a chain but I like it. It is definitely 2 $‘s ($$) compared to the rest of down town which is mostly $$$-$$$$. Not a big fan of the fancy stuff when I want a beer and some grub!

Took a day trip to Aiken to explore their cute downtown area. Had no clue what to expect, just wandered around hoping for inspiration to strike as to where to have lunch. We were tempted by a few places on Laurens St. (I think??) but found ourselves wandering down a side street and stumbled upon The Pizza Joint. A good find! Our server was very friendly. My husband had the Philly cheese steak and I had the veggie calzone. The calzone was stuffed with great ingredients and came with a very fresh tasting marinara sauce for dipping. My husband said the cheese steak ‘wasn’t bad’ and this is pretty high praise from a Philadelphia native for any cheese steak made outside of Philadelphia. Very enjoyable afternoon.

Great weather to sit outside & enjoy a basket of fried mushrooms & a slice of pizza! The mushrooms were hot & crispy, and the pizza was fresh and cheesy with crunchy crust and gooey cheese! The waiter was quick and attentive, and we will be back!

The pizza is great. I almost always bring visitors from out of town here when they want pizza. The food is good and there’s plenty of it.

I frequent Pizza Joint, but my last visit wasn’t the best. My boyfriend and I entered the restaurant, and was greeted by one of the waitresses. We choose a table and waited about 15 minutes for some to serve us before we decided to leave. No one asked what we wanted to drink, or gave us menus. They were busy, but one of the waitresses had served the table beside us that had come in after we did. How could you not have noticed us? She was the one that greeted us when we came in! I’m hoping for a better service next time.

I really enjoyed the pizza I ordered the Mediterranean pizza slice which was enough for 2 people, it was delicious and I really liked the crust it was not hard, I also hard a chianti which was the perfect combination for a relaxing evening with girls’ the waitress was pleasant and attentive, I would surely be back if I travel back to aiken.

Good beer selection. Waitress advised that pizzas take about 10 minutes to prepare while sandwiches take 20. Didn’t sound right but we took her advice. 40 minutes later or pizza came out. It took us too long to realize it was under cooked. Thanks for the runs Pizza Joint.

What happen, our server was great but the food has gone down, cheese pizza was
not cooked in the middle, calzone was burned on the bottom and the stromboli was
skimpy filled and also burned on the bottom. It took us 45 minutes to get it, the waitress keep us filled with the bread sticks we ordered and drinks and she keep
checking on our order. We even notice others that came in after us got there orders
first. ??? whats up with that, two adults and one child at our table. anyway
apparently we did not order beer. in My Humble Opinion has gone down since
our last visit. so probably one more chance and then we will move on

I want to love Pizza Joint; a local Pizza restaurant with 30 beers on tap and one of the only places in Aiken where a vegetarian can be sure to find something. Great right? How can you go wrong with that combination?
Well, first thing you can do is not have the pizza just right. We ordered the veggie pizza with broccoli substituted for the olives, which was absolutely no problem. Even with a special request, they got it right. Unfortunately, the middle of the pizza was soggy. No bueno! I don’t know if this is a technique issue or a training issue (maybe oven wasn’t hot enough) but it needs to be fixed if the restaurant wants to become great. If it was just our pie that had this problem, then it’s one of inconsistency, which is just as bad.
When we ordered our pizza, we also ordered a sandwich, but after the pizza came out, we ended up waiting another 10 minutes for the sandwich. Again, another one of these things that shouldn’t happen at a restaurant. If the sandwich takes longer to cook, put it in the oven first, then do the pizza. Train the kitchen staff to anticipate differences in time so both can go to the table, together, straight from the oven. So our pizza just sat in the middle of the table, (getting cold) while we waited for the sandwich to come out of the kitchen.
Also, if there are issues, don’t tell me about them. I do not want to hear that the kitchen is super busy, and don’t use that as an excuse as to why things aren’t going perfectly.
So, Pizza Joint, I offer this criticism honestly and constructively; get your shit together. I want you to be great, so get on top of this.
