Steak ‘n Shake

This was our first time eating here. The food was really good, and the milkshakes were heavenly. My family had the chicken fingers and really enjoyed them. I went for the Jamaican jerk burger. It was spiced just right. Overall, the value was great. Good food at a great price.

At 12:09AM, I arrived at the dirtiest restaurant I’ve ever been to. The floor under our seats was sticky and trash littered the floors throughout the restaurant. We were seated and continued to wait 30 minutes to take our order, there were only two other tables in the resultant… And then our food took a long time too, around 25 minutes. Terrible service and terrible Atmosphere. Do not recommend.

Can’t beat the deals! Kids eat free on the weekend, use coupons as well and you can feed a family of four for around twelve bucks. The waiters always seem frazzled but are pleasant and prompt.
Portions were larger this visit than they have been historically.
One thing I love is they don’t over charge for beverages. This is our go to joint before we hit the movies.

Surprisingly good! Fries are awesome and the chicken strips really good. Loved that they kept filing my coke… Even waitress that wasn’t our waitress… Her name was Elizabeth… A trainee I think but really sweet. Love this place!

I don’t think my body is able to handle Steak ‘n Shake like it used to. Came here with a couple of friends after a movie and got a side-​by-​side shake and a Grilled Portobello ‘n Swiss burger. I could probably eat several pounds of their fries alone because they are seriously addictive, but I was disappointed with my burger. The mushrooms were kinda slimy and the whole thing had a strange smell. I ended up eating most of it anyways because I was hungry, but then about 45 minutes later I started to feel a little nauseous.
Maybe I’m just getting old and my stomach isn’t able to digest the things it used to, or maybe something was just off.

Burgers were good, shakes were good, and the fries were good. Waitress was great she kept the glasses filled and gave me plenty of ice in my water!

I just had an amazing salty caramel pretzel milkshake. Really, it was incredible. Why only two stars? It was the only item in my to go order, and it took TWENTY MINUTES.

Slow service, my shake sat on the counter for over 10 minutes before it was brought to me. I had HAIR in my Frisco melt, and the waitress ignored me when I tried to tell her there was hair in it, and they still charged us full price for the hairy sandwich. NEVER going back.

Today was my third visit. What made today different was the level of service I experienced. First, I ordered the Chicago Style Frank w/​fries which is a winner in my books for $ 3.99. But the real plus in my meal today was my server, Brittan C. She was prompt, courteous, professional and kept an eye on my table throughout my stay. I noticed she did the same thing for her other customers. She alone deserves 5 Stars.
This is not to say that I experienced poor service in the past but only that when a server takes their job seriously and really hustles, I believe they deserve credit. I eat out quite a bit and I regard my server today as being in the top 10% of servers I encounter at other comparable restaurants.

Man, what a great way to end the night! Good eatin’ at fantastic prices! Make sure to request for the artificial banana milkshake, it is sooo much better than the real thing.

Pretty decent food for cheap.
This is the place to hit up after a basketball game or any other «thing» which leaves you with little money and a lotta hunger.
The food’s good, service is nice, and the shakes are the bomb. Way better (and honestly cheaper!) than any Mickey D’s or BK fake crap.
Frisco melt + fries + chocolate shake = awesome combo.

This is fast food like it was in it’s inception. Cooked to order. Always hot and fresh. Real food, (e.g. the milkshakes don’t come from a pouch). A nice variety of options for a fast food restaurant especially for breakfast. The entire franchise doesn’t grind to a halt if you want them to hold the pickles or whatever. This is my new «go to» spot for a national fast food chain. These guys or Arbys. The rest can just close shop. Too many cold meals and screwed up orders at the competition!
