Portage lakes is one of the best hidden gems in Ohio and the upper deck is a fantastic spot to hang out for all ages.

This is the place to go if your are anywhere near portage lakes. Reasonable prices, great service, and a great waterfront view.

Since Danos burnt down this has been our latest hangout. Beer is priced alright, no $ 7 yeunglings like some places. Lots of space inside and out. Great views. Friendly staff. Weekday nights be prepared to chill with the older crowd and weekends the 21 year Olds.

Loved it! Was here for a softball tournament and went back 3 times. The prices are great and the view is relaxing. Loved the bar on the lower deck. We had the steak dinner special for about $ 11 and enjoyed it. We tried the wings, as well as some other appetizers, and liked them all. Very satisfied. :-)

The bar to go to in the PLX. You can’t walk around without bumping into people during the summer — especially people you know. You also can’t leave the parking lot without an encounter with the New Franklin Police Department, which is absolutely brutal in this area. You’re better off using Über if you are driving alone. I like the deck here(no, really?). It has a view if the Lakes as well as a full service bar. The full service bar is actually on the lower deck — the upper deck is closed off due to structural flaws. Chuck T, a man whose livelihood comes from hosting karaōke a few days a week, hosts karaōke every Sunday and Wednesday. DJ Chaz(read: the owner’s son) plays music on Thursday, while on Friday and Saturday they’re more of a night club. They also have live bands that perform throughout the week. Food is the bomb here. You can’t go wrong with a basket of deep fried banana peppers for $ 3. Or 12 delicious wings for $ 4.99 on selected nights. However, The Deck is a place where spotless driving records and dignities go to die: you drink at the Dirty D! I know everyone who works here. My favorite bartenders are Jenna and Natalie. The owners are very nice; however, one of the servers is notorious for ignoring her customers so she can talk to her boyfriend.

It would be a great place to have a good time if the DJ didn’t start fist fights with unsuspecting patrons. About 2 weeks ago, the DJ walked over to the bar and picked a fight with a guy that was literally standing there talking to someone.

Liked the place. The food was tasty. The staff were extremely friendly. They have a really nice porch for the summer over look portage lakes. Would defiantly come back in the summer.

When I first walked in, I was skeptical, but once I found a place to sit the wait staff was most gracious and attentive to my every need. I ordered a Decker burger that, in every meaning of the word, was delectable. This place is awesome and friendly at the same time. I highly recommend it the next time you are in the Portage Lakes area.

This bar is about as predictable as diarrhea. Most times its empty, save for a few hardcore alcoholics. It does appear to take on a whole better persona on Sunday funday, when they have Harleys and bands galore. I never know what to expect when I come here, but I never expect much. Very limited food menu, but they do have good service. They are a victim of their own patrons. Decent people watching here fo sho. This is where the people of Walmart go before hitting up club energy.

I was here on 4th of July weekend — so the observations may or may not be typical of a normal Summer afternoon. This was fireworks night so the bar, outside decks and yard down to the docks were full of people, with a band at the water’s edge. Crowd was all types, older, younger, suburbantites, poor white trash, bikers and more. I’m perfectly comfortable with that combination — and it’s probably typical for this place. They had extra beer stations available, so it’s hard to judge how service would be on a typical night. Service was friendly. There were some obviously inebriated people, but that’s par for the course on any 4th weekend. The place is kinda dirty and divey inside, but that’s the charm, I guess — it’s in a really OLD buildig that dates from the 1800’s. The decks are the place to be in the summertime — there’s lots of boat traffic to watch going through the channel, so there’s always something to see. Live entertainment is always pretty good. I thought the prices for bottled beer were kinda high — but I also think it was«special» pricing for the 4th of July event. Regular prices may be lower(I hope). Overall, a classic spot on the Portage Lakes and one you’ll not want to miss.

This is a great place, and a classic for the locals in Portage Lakes. My dad grew up mowing the lawn here, and on a recent trip to see family we gathered here for a quick lunch. The two best things about this place? The prices and the view! There is a huge patio for enjoying nice weather in the summer, and I didn’t see a dish on the menu over $ 10. My family got two different types of pizza, chili dogs, two types of salads, and fried banana peppers and jalapenos. The buffalo chicken salad I had was wonderful– the half portion was incredibly large and filling. The buffalo chicken was extra spicy, which pared well with the thick bleu cheese dressing on top. The friend banana peppers were great! Stop by for a great view of the lake and some very cheap(yet tasty) eats.

Fantastic during the summer time as they have a HUGE patio overlooking the Portage Lakes. The Upper Deck may be the dirtiest bar on the lakes, but they have relatively cheap drinks, so it makes for a good olé’ drunken redneck time yelling at the patrons over at Dietz’s.
