I was not impressed with this place at all! Over priced and the food was not what I expected.

Yellowtail has some of the best sushi in the area! The variety is very impressive. I prefer the eel rolls and the snow crab rolls! They also offer more traditional items that you would find in most Chinese/Japanese restaurants in the area, such as sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, etc. The staff is very friendly as well! I usually go to Buffet Dynasty in Canton, but this place is very tasty as well! The dining room is huge! It is a great place for large groups or family gatherings! It is a little pricey, but I think you can get your share of great foods here! Give it a try if you are a fan of Japanese cuisine!

As a frequent traveler to Japan, I adore real Japanese cuisine. The Yellow Tail is as good as it gets in the NE Ohio area, especially the sushi. Not only is it good, but the selection available is outstanding. We frequently eat here and entertain guests as well at this fine dining establishment.

All the food served is under par in my opinion. I’m not a very picky eater but if i pay good money to eat sushi, I at least want the rice to be fresh. I understand that it is a buffet so they won’t be serving the top of line fish, but for me not to leave a buffet not stuffed and sick of food is very rare. I ate every single roll just to be disappointed. On the up side they have plenty of options, from your typical fast food Chinese choices, sushi, and desserts. Also you can pretty much come at any time and there will be seating.

Owner is awesome. We’ve become regulars and the owner always greets us and talks to us. Staff is attentive to drinks and the food is delicious. You have hot food, hibachi which is always awesome, cold food, which includes sushi. Sushi chefs do a good job of having constant flow of sushi and not letting anything be empty. Desserts are awesome, especially for the fruit, ice cream, and chocolate fountain.

My son and visited this restuarant a week ago. I really was not impressed with this place. The selections on the buffet part of the spread left a lot to be desired. The chicken and broccoli had no taste or sauce, the chicken at the hibachi was dry, and several selections were empty. I pretty much paid $ 17.00 a head for a few pieces of tasty yellow fish and a pepsi.

Love it. Never had a sub part experience. Always good service. Half price lunch. Wooo love it.

Pretty damn good food. I often go here, as much as a person should go to a buffet. Food is all delicious and huge variety. Feels like an asian house party with endless food. They even have tripe, kimchee and seaweed salad. You should always ask them to make you a spicy noodle soup by the hibachi station and finish with a red bean crêpe.

I’m really on the fence here. I’m not sure I’ll be back. Upon entering Yellowtail, it appears nice and cozy but after a few minutes of being seated, it starts to feel more like a fancy cafeteria with hard wooden chairs and typical Asian restaurant décor. The best part about this place is the abundance of options. I’ve never seen so many maki rolls in my life. There were probably 20 different types to choose from. Several sashimi options, and tons of sides. The hot section was also plentiful. I really liked that the hot food was truly hot and turned over rapidly so it wasn’t sitting under the heat lamps for too long. However, the sushi could have been colder. It sits a little longer than the hot food. But I will say, I never got an upset stomach from eating it so it must have been cold enough. The sides were very unique and I got to try a lot of things I’d never had before like seaweed salad, kimchi, and pigs ears. All of which, I didn’t like. Oh well, at leat I can say I tried them! Maybe it just didn’t suit my particular tastes. The sushi rolls were just ok. I think they’re trying to offer so many different kinds that they’ve never really perfected any single one. Every roll I had tasted fishy which I’ve never experienced before with sushi. And almost all of the rolls had the same flavor. They were bland for the most part and I found myself dipping into the soy sauce which I despise! Not that there’s anything wrong with soy sauce, I just don’t care for it on my sushi. But it was needed here. There was no seasoning on anything. The desserts are your typical Chinese restaurant jello cakes, ice cream, and cream puffs. No big deal. They had a chocolate fountain which would be fun for the kids but I wasn’t into it. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean which are both big pluses when it comes to Asian cuisine in the Akron/Fairlawn area.

The most amazing Selection of Sushi and authentic Japanese cuisine I have ever seen on a buffet. Just the sheer volume of choices. A few standouts include Mackerel Shashimi, and their«Amazing Roll»

Overall: Buffet deal no longer worth it for me. Food: The sushi and Chinese food is subpar in all respects. With respect to the sushi, the fish is not particularly fresh and the sushi rice lacks any flavor. With respect to the Chinese food, it’s comparable to whatever you might order for a Chinese takeout place. You only come here because the food is unlimited. Unfortunately, prices have raised since I first started coming here and I’ve been eating less, so I can no longer justify spending $ 35.00 — $ 40.00 on 2 people when I would eat the same amount for better food at another sushi/Chinese joint. Atmosphere: Cafeteria-style buffet with large, open dining rooms.

The setup isn’t very cozy and doesn’t make you want to linger over your meal, maybe that’s the goal. It’s layout is cafeteria style with a long counter and smaller separate counter for dessert. The sushi is small but plentiful. Many options to choose from cooked or raw. They also offer a small hibachi station and hot meals station. The desserts are frozen food service fair, nothing special.

I have my yearly birthday meal here with friends. I’ve been here multiple times. Used to come here back in the day when it was Ni’s Dynasty. LOL. I had a Diet Coke, hey, it’s a Diet Coke. Enough said. I had the buffet: I didn’t try everything, I stuck to some of my favorites, the General Tso, all the different chicken dishes, all the different sushis, and the chocolate fountain. I didn’t try the hibachi. I was so stuffed. Overall Impression: I would definitely go back. You get a good bang for your buck meal. Come hungry.

Use to be great. Now the price has gone up to $ 18. No crab legs except on Wednesday. Price increase doesn’t justify the same menu minus crab legs. Go to Kumo’s, much better.

If your not a sushi connoisseur, but you love sushi… This is the place for you! Great selection of traditional and non traditional sushi. They also carry a great selection for hibachi. It’s not Benihana, but gets the job done. Good selection of other typical Asian foods as well. My new favorite place to grab some Asian food. Highly recommend this place.

I’m fairly shocked by the high reviews on here. This place is nothing special and the price is way too high for what you get. The focus of the buffet is definitely quantity over quality. The sushi didn’t taste fresh and the hot bar didn’t get refreshed at all during our hour long meal. On the plus side, the restaurant itself is very clean and well kept and the service was friendly.

My favorite sushi buffet in Ohio! Come for the sushi, not for the chinese food. I’ve been here numerous times and the selection of sushi is far and wide. Ranges from simple sashimi to complicated deep fried and artistic futomaki rolls. The difference between what they offer at lunch vs. dinner is minimal so you’re either getting an incredible deal for lunch or what you’re paying for for dinner. So either way, the sushi is absolutely worth the price. Now, the chinese food portion of the buffet could be better. It offers the average selection and average taste. There’s a Hibachi station that I haven’t tried yet but haven’t heard anything bad about it yet. Service is inconsistent but nothing drastically bad. The environment is plenty of seats and cool environment. Family friendly environment and also appropriate for groups and dates. I love coming here for a weekend lunch or dinner with friends. The quality of sushi and their wide selection is consistent and impressive.

My family and I ate here for the first time last night, we actually set out To go to Sakura but it was closed for construction, this was right around the corner and we thought, oh great another over priced buffet with stale food sitting out, boy were we wrong! First off the sushi selection was amazing, almost any sushi you want is out on their buffet and it’s all hand rolled right in front of you! The hot bar has all the normals, general tsos, chicken and broccoli, ribs, sweet and sour chicken, but they also have a raw fish bar too. For dessert they have fresh fruit skewers and a chocolate fountain, and a wide variety of ice cream. We will be back again definetely worth the money!

I am going to give it 3.5 stars for the uniqueness and cool lounge area — which i would hang out in probably every time i come back here. I guess you can call it buffet style asian fusion, but certainly more Japanese with a little bit of Chinese as well. There are three main areas — sushi(takes up 50% of the whole buffet), hibachi(not a ton of options, but done quickly and fun for sure still), and a section that is just like the hot Chinese buffet that we area all used to. Since there was so much food I will just give you some highlights. The sushi rolls where quite good. They had A TON of options and they certainly catered to the novice sushi eater as well. A lot of sauces and tempura — not what I love the most but it was good nonetheless. They also had frog legs and I really like them here. Well seasoned and lightly breaded. I had quite a few of them. The sashimi was lacking big time not many options and what was out there seemed like it may have been sitting for a few extra minutes. I still had some and it was definitely quality, but it might just seem like they don’t sell enough here to really get the turnover they would like. The price is on point for sure and the staff was very friendly and did a really good job. The place is gigantic, yet they still make it feel like a small mom and pop shop. Its in a busy area, but its a quiet place that you can get away from the hustle and bustle for sure — and I imagine i will.
