Delicious coffee, delicious breakfast sandwich, super quick even with a long line. Two iced coffees, a pastry, and a breakfast sandwich big enough to share all for under $ 20!

Solid breakfast whether you want bacon + eggs or just oatmeal. Something for everyone. The bacon is AMAZING!

Great casual place to dine in Alameda with delicious food, homemade granola, delicious breakfast sandwiches, waffles etc. You order your food at the counter and then find a seat in the café.

Excellent customer service and very welcoming place to a mom of a toddler. We ordered the poached egg, bacon and pepper jack cheese sandwich on a ciabatta roll, which was delicious! My son had the child’s egg, toast, and bacon, which he too loved. I also ordered a cappuccino, which tastef exceptionally good. I’d definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning for lunch as the menu looks incredible!

I’ve been here a couple of times for breakfast and lunch. Food is okay to me, not really wowed by it. Pastries were alright. Chai was a-ok. Service was not great, not welcoming at all. People were just standing around and looking away instead of acknowledging you. Cute place to hang out but they can be friendlier.

Great place. Came here because they have organic options: eggs, coffee, etc. They also have stevia. Most places only carry artificial poisonous sweeteners. Stevia is made from a plant. Safe to eat. I see this place is going to extra mile to provide healthy, clean food. Thank you.

I run pass this place every morning since I live relatively close, but I never stop in, it smells so delicious and the plates always look amazing. I decided I’d stop in a grab a bite, I ordered the French toast. I wasn’t quiet sure if I made the right selection, but when it was placed in front of me it looked like it would melt in my mouth. The French toast looked fluffy and perfectly cooked(which it was), and everything including the berries was lightly sprinkled with powered sugar, just the way I liked it to be. The only thing I don’t like is having to order at the register paying and tipping, finding a seat and then cleaning up after yourself. I don’t like having to tip before hand, what if I didn’t like the service or the food. That’s just my opinion though.

Great place for coffee. Has nice charm and a warm inviting place to go. The only negative are the rude people that take up a table for four to set up their laptop and stay all day. Too many office set ups and no place to sit. Too bad could of been my favorite.

Food is great and service is friendly… but $ 3.50 for an untoasted plain bagel to go is a bit ridiculous!!! You buy these for $.50, 700% markup with no cooking?

Everything is made from scratch. We had corned beef hash w/poached eggs, waffles with berries and a decadent cinnamon roll. Coffee is very good too. I liked the setup– order at the counter, take a # and they bring the food to you. Nice vibe and atmosphere. Great way to start the day!

I ordered the eggs benedict but the sauce tasted like sour yogurt. The prices were about $ 3.00 more than what I saw on the website. I had to bus my own table when I was done. WTF did I tip for.

I think I’ll come here again. I like the art on the walls that come from the nearby high school. The salad was pretty good, and the sandwhich was too. There was a good wait and you just wait till they served you your food after ordering. I want to try some of the breakfast items but all in all looks like I’ll try it again.

Super good food and people. I was really excited about the new satellite menu and space, and being able to grab dinner during the week, but only open till 6pm just makes it extra space to sit, on the weekend. I’m hardly leaving work by 6. Maybe I need to find a new job.

Nice place to come with friends on the weekend for brunch. Good amount of seating inside, unless it’s filled with the people who have finished eating, but are now just taking up space & advantage of the free wifi instead of freeing up a table for the next group! There is definitely a steady stream of traffic and it can get noisy when it’s full. Small tables and a long table are options for outside too. There is a yummy selection of breads and pastries, the coffee and espresso is delicious and the weekend only brunch menu is great! Fresh berries and cream accompany waffles or pretty much anything if you ask and the staff are super nice. Be patient while you wait — it’s worth your while — and don’t forget to help out by bussing your own table!

Now this is a true mom and pop coffee shop. When I think of waking up and slowly starting my day as slow as the sunrise this place is how I dream it. With plenty of comfortable dynamic seating, high ceilings, sky lights to welcome the warm sun rays, and the walls decorated with local artists’ work, this is where I want to be. The staff is friendly fast and true baristas. They have a full breakfast menu. And they also have fresh baked pastries. This place is prefect for one person or a big family. They even have some outdoor seating. And if you sit outdoor you can smell the sea breeze, it’s not by the water but close enough to catch the ocean drift. I Unilocaled looking for a place to get a cup of coffee. Unilocal took me here and I ordered a white mocha and a slice of a pumpkin bread. Wow. I live in Danville and work in the city, but I would definitely make a side trip to Alameda again and this is one of the reasons why.

IMPORTANT: MUSTREADIFYOUHAVEKIDS! My 5.5 year old son was standing by the drink cooler in the front of the restaurant where you order food. He was calmly looking at what drink he wanted to get. One of the cooks who serves food walked out from the kitchen to where my son was standing and grabbed the back of his shirt by the collar and pulled it back. I saw this out of the corner of my eye and then he gave my son an intimidating look. This is not ok. I realized after seeing this cook that he’s the same person who two weeks prior, I heard him tell a one year old who was clumsily walking around the restaurant and I guess he felt this baby was in his way, «get back to your table baby.» This man should not be in the business of serving others let alone be near children. This concerns me on so many levels because he was being sneaky with his interaction with my son, he violated my son’s space, and the look he gave my son afterwards was disturbing. I would recommend all parents of little ones to keep a close eye on your kids if you do decide to go to Blue Dot. I called the restaurant 3 times afterwards to speak with a manager and each time the person who picked up the phone pretending like they couldn’t hear me and hung up. I checked to see if my phone was working on my end and it was. FYI — the man was caucasian, he had long brown hair that was pulled back into a low pony tail, he has a beard and mustache, tattoos on his arms, and was wearing a black beanie hat.

I’ve been here so many times and loved it. Today not so much we come in 25 minutes before closing order a salad and sandwich the chef sees the order and shakes his head. I sit for a second they are sweeping and trying to get out so I say let’s just pack it up so yall don’t have to wait. The chef then throws his hands in the air with all this attitude. If you want to be out by two maybe you should close at 1. There are too many good places in alameda to eat to put up with attitudes Just got home and opened our food the salad is slathered in dressing and unedible . Wow, so disappointed

Blue Dot is still my favorite café in the area. When my mom visited from Baltimore, I made sure to take her. She loved the muffin she got! She’s also a picky eater, so good job, Blue Dot muffin. The guy Vinny who makes the drinks is the best! He offered to try something different with my iced chai and I said go for it. It was so yummy! Steamed milk today? Yes. Dirty chai tomorrow? Yes, please! The owner is always so lovely, chatting with everyone and making you feel right at home. She even offered to put the chai in my travel cup from home when I came in on my scooter and ordered it to go. And they have a bathroom! I didn’t know and I’m glad I found out. Love this place.
