Our family lives down the road, so we found this place and it is a nice place to pick up a quick breakfast or lunch. Staff is nice and if you are early, it isn’t too busy. I like that they serve three eggs, makes splitting much easier and more satisfying. Looks like a nice golf course, but I was there for the food.

Visiting Alameda from San Diego. Have eaten at Jim’s Alameda Lincoln location several times before during previous visits and enjoyed their food very much. However, the Lincoln location is always very crowded so tried their Bay Farm Island golf course location this morning even though I do not play golf. The food was great as was the service. I highly recommend either Jim’s locations for breakfast.

I prefer this location over the one on Lincoln because I’ve never had to wait for a table here. I’ve had to wait 45 minutes for the one on Lincoln for the same generic breakfast. Don’t get me wrong, I like the food, but it’s just your typical American diner. I’m not looking to get wowed with breakfast since I only order a waffle, eggs, and bacon, therefore, I prefer not to have to wait so long for my simple breakfast. Jim’s on the course is always fast and consistent.

I always get their New York Steak and three eggs. Their steak is big and juicy. They cook a medium rare steak piece very well. During weekends you can also have smoked salmon eggs benediction, which was great. I like their coffee — light and not acidic. It can get busy but still safe to go as a group of 5 – 10 during the weekend. Atmosphere is just okay. Not exceptional but how much do you expect from a golf course restaurant?

This is based on tonight only, I have been here before and sat at the bar. The food was really good and the bar tender was great. Tonight we sat in the restraunt. Where’s the waitress? Waiting… waiting… no really, I’m getting really thirsty. It said to be a sports bar. Lots of TVs, but no sports crowd. I would love to come back when you get better help and pull in a fun crowd to watch the college football games.

Excellent coffee shop plus! Their Eggs Benedict and Crabcakes Benedict are absolutely delicious, and made with fresh hollandaise. Outdoor seating at umbrella tables is very pleasant. My only gripe — my otherwise fab Club Sandwich was made with everything fresh and yummy but the pressed turkey. I suggested to Mgmt to consider using fresh-cooked turkey and upticking the price a bit if necessary — I suspect no one would gripe. I just went back and had a fabulous salad — spinach, delicious blue cheese chunks, lots of delicious chicken breast, a champagne vinaigrette. I should also commend their server, Juanito. Good guy. Maggie another very nice server. Think they’re understaffed at times, but these guys hustle.

Service staff was great, food was awful. Menu tasted like freezer package Sisco systems bs. The hashbrowns have msg & everything else was over salted in the kitchen.

We are once a week regulars here. We live on Bay Farm Island so this is our easy eating out option. The food is good. Not gourmet or exceptional(I wouldn’t expect that for the price or the atmosphere), but they are consistently good. The service is friendly. Prices are fair. Things we love about Jim’s on the Course… patio seating(we only sit on the patio when we eat here), easy parking, breakfast anytime, the kid menu for my son, and a good beer selection(Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada, Racer 5, etc.).

Worst service ever. Bartender is killing herself to serve the bar AND several tables while a dozen servers stand around twiddling their thumbs. After complaining to the bartender/waitress, a server and the manager, 30 mins later we got our food. My husband’s food arrived on a filthy plate & my salad was SWIMMING in dressing. Fries were completely under-cooked. Water boy completely ignored us, despite frantically waving him down. They were wise enough to discount our meal, but wow. Get it together Jim’s. After years of coming here, I’m pretty sure this was our last visit.

I love this place, the food is great, the whole burrito coffee special is amazing. Being a native of Alameda it’s nice to come home and see familiar faces. Maggie is a sweetheart, and we love her so much. It’s people that work hard and love their jobs that makes us come back. See you all again soon and don’t forget to order your burrito coffee special.

We waited and waited and waited for our waiter to take our order… And waited. We witnessed others getting their orders taken. We were literally invisible and were ignored completely. Kept on asking random employees for out waiter and servers would walk by us. I will one day eat here. Thx for wasting my time today. I have no pictures of this place. I could have taken a picture of the condiments that were in front of us though.

My family LOVES Jims and I don’t know why. Service is bad and food is mediocre, but they always insist on coming back. I think the only positives are that it is kid friendly and conveniently located on the course so kids can run around and adults can go to the driving range after. Food is plentiful, but service is always slow and horrendous.

Slow with service. Orders aren’t put down right. The ambiance and the atmosphere save this place. I’m still currently waiting for my food.

Sometimes this place is good, sometimes its not so good. I still feel like Jim’s on main island tastes better but this place is on a golf course so I can place golf afterwards :) On this day, the bacon was not very crispy and seemed kind of dry. The hash browns were OK. I like how the toast is buttered. From what I remember the waffles were not as good as the pancakes. Coffee is your typical diner coffee and is good but not strong.

I visited here for the first time last Sunday. I had their food again this evening as a carry-out order. The shore driveway getting there is not in great shape, but there’s plenty of parking so that’s always nice. For the dine-in experience, I’ve gotta say, I was really impressed. We arrived around 11:50am, which was perfect timing as it started filling up quickly around noon. The restaurant was clean, and the waitress was very nice and very prompt. My group ordered a variation of food, from chicken and waffles, to french toast, and chicken with french fries. We were all very impressed with the food quality. Keep in mind it is the quality of that similar to diner food. The chicken had a crisp skin, while still being tender on the inside. The waffle was amazing! It was huge and soft and delicious. The cinnamon french toast was very well cooked, and didn’t have that overly ‘egg’ flavor that I sometimes find french toast to have. The portions were huge! Way more food than any of us could eat. And for the things we ordered the price hovered in the $ 8-$ 10 range. It was a bit hot in the restaurant. My toddler who sat quite still and entertained for our duration inside, was red cheeked and clammy by the time we finished. And that was on pretty cool day outside. We have a pretty low heat tolerance, so that was at least a minor annoyance. Our waitress was also prompt with the check, which I loved. I always hate sitting at restaurants waiting on your check. There were a lot of of flat screen televisions all around. So it did have that sort of bar and grill appearance and setting. The carryout order was very well organized, and the food upheld the same quality as when we’d eaten at the restaurant. No complaints. All the condiments necessary for our order were also included. Overall, I’m pleased with their food and I’m glad to have discovered them. I’ll definitely be revisiting to try out many more items on the menu!

My go-to place for any breakfast or brunch outings. They have a solid menu with very reasonable prices and huge portions. I would really recommend their waffles and any of their omelettes. I’ve had a couple of my friends also try the steak & eggs and chicken fried steak and they all liked it. The only thing that I would dock is that sometimes things can get a bit too greasy, and once my husband’s sausages were like salt sticks and basically inedible. Thankfully the waitress apologized and replaced it with another side at no charge. This place is good for families and bigger groups. It’s not really one of those vintage, cutesy brunch places but has a more all-American dining experience to it. It’s right on the golf course so you can get a nice view if you sit near the windows. Definitely recommend!

Cool restaurant right on the course… you can see everyone on the green. The food is not decent but nothing I’d come back for. I ordered a chicken salad which was big and came with a bunch of mixed greens. My co-worker ordered an omelette which was ok… wish the hashbrowns were more crispy.

An Alameda resident told me that you’re either a Jim’s person or an Olé’s person. I enjoyed my visit to Olé’s much more, so I guess that puts me in Olé’s camp. The best thing I can say about Jim’s on the Course is that the service was good and they handled a group of 15 very well. I had corned beef hash, which was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too salty. My egg over easy was perfectly cooked. The rye toast was fine if a little dry.

Who knew a golf course could have such great food? It doesn’t feel like a country club but rather a restaurant that just makes use of the scenery around them. The food is pretty good quality and the quantity is definitely there. I tried the chicken fried steak and its smothered in sausage gravy, juicy, tender and crisp. Mine came with 3 eggs, which is a pretty heft amount, crispy griddled hash browns and a well buttered, crisp English muffin. Particularly, I loved the hash browns, which that golden crust: a bit of salt and pepper to liven it up and you’re good to go with just that. I also tried my friend’s Jim’s special, which may just seem like scrambled eggs with spinach and beef, but the flavor medley is an incredible burst of flavor. Highly recommend. Definitely the weekend place to come for breakfast. It’s not too crowded but definitely a special place.
