This Papa Murphy’s location has been in business since the 80’s and there’s good reason for that. They provide what is arguably the best-tasting pizza on the island for what is unquestionably the best price of any meal in Alameda. Any pizza-craving person with the patience to cook their own food should opt for this place as often as possible.

I use to work for this company way back in the day and our customer service was never this bad. Of course i worked in a different area but wow all 3 girls were unfriendly no hi no smile. And they stop taking phone orders at 730 when they close at 830 dumbest thing i ever heard. Way to lose business guys!

How does a place that makes only pizza all day everyday run out of ingredients to make what’s on their menu? Consistently this place never ceases to amaze me with poor customer service, rude workers, varying and inconsistent prices from week to week. The ONLY reason I keep coming back here is because I ONLY like the FOOD and it’s the nearest to the St. Elizabeth area in Oakland. Certainly management/owners should look into another business because this isn’t how you should run one.

I called to order a pizza at 5:30 pm, dinnertime on Thursday. They told me they couldn’t fill my pizza order because they were out of chicken! A major ingredient runs out before dinnertime?! This is after I stayed away for 2 months after I came in at 6 pm on a weeknight — they said they couldn’t make a pizza for me and the other customers in line because they were out of pizza dough! Are they trying to go out of business? The pizza and customer service in the past has been excellent, but over the last 6 – 12 months, it has deteriorated. I don’t know what is going on at this particular Papa Murphys. I hope it gets better, because I’ve liked this Papa Murphys in the past and have been a customer for over 7 years.

I placed an online order 3 hours before the pick up time. I show up to pick up the pizza… and…no pizza. «You don’t have an order.» «That’s funny because my receipt right here says I do.» (Talking to coworkers in a hush toned while finding my order receipt on the counter. ‘Did you call him!!! No’ «They didn’t understand the order… what’s this?» «That would be olive oil and garlic selected from you online toppings.» «So you want that instead of the white sauce?» «Is that what it says?» «Yes.» “I guess that means I want olive oil and garlic then.“ I’m sorry but if you’ve had my order sitting there for 3 hours and you can’t pick up a phone to ask a question… FAIL.

Standing in line for 15 minutes to pick up a phone order. Girl working the register has screwed up the order of every person in front of me in line. My order was ready as expected as I phoned in hours ago but the mood in the place was awful from the employees and even worse from the clientele. Hope the pizza is good at least

They would not create a custom stuffed pizza! What business does that!!! They wanted me to pick from three specialty pizzas and sub out toppings. Why not charge a base price for cheese and a per topping price? I called the Pinole, San Leandro, and Walnut Creek locations and everyone would let me create my own pizza. Children are running the place.

One of my favorite pizza places to go to! A great variety to choice from and the ingredients are always fresh! The prices very affordable! They also have great salads and cookie dough! The staff is always nice!

Really great value and friendly service. A large pizza for $ 9? Awesome. Great salads also. You can call and order ahead, but really, it only takes 5 min for them to make your pizza to order. The stuffed pizza is incredible and feeds 4 people — I can only eat a single slice and I am overfull.

Worst customer service ever. If I were you I’d go somewhere else for pizza. Worst experience ever especially if you don’t fit the surrounding demographics.

I’m writing this as I wait for my two pizzas. Service at this location is significantly slower than the Castro Valley and San Leandro locations. Even if its the Superbowl this weekend, it shouldn’t take 20 minutes for me to wait for my pies when there’s no one or two in line!

Papa Murphys has always delivered exactly what I’ve needed: delicious pizza quickly and easily. The staff is always extremely relaxed and open, the store is easy to find, and their food is superb. 11⁄10 will use for every party I throw, family I babysit, or at home movie date!

Nice staff, building was HOTASHELL. And I asked for extra cheese and black olives ok my pizza only to find hardly any black olives and no extra cheese. Not happy with what I got for what I paid.

I really don’t see the appeal here. Lots of hassle for a so-so pizza For a few bucks more, someone will deliver a much better pizza to your door. No work, no hot oven, no driving back and forth. For a few bucks LESS you can get a vastly superior pizza at Costco. My favorite places are Pizzaiolo, Dopo, Boot and Shoe Service, with 2nd tier places being Antica and Trabocco. Too bad Alameda doesn’t have more excellent pizza. Still, when going for take out or delivery on-island, there are a few places that work out just fine. Papa Murphy’s is simply off the radar.

Normally the pizza’s are good but service is extremely slow. Today they beat all the records. Ordered at 5, they said that it would take about 30 minutes. I arrived an hour later and they had not started yet. They would get to it immediately, 20 minutes later still nothing. Now it would be ready within a minute. One hour and 25 minutes it took of which I was wasting my time for half an hour. Personnel are probably nice people, but management is a disaster.

1 Star for their customer service. I called and the girl who answered the phone was extremely rude. I told her I had a coupon for a meal deal. It included a large cheese, sausage, or peperoni, a side, and bottle or Pepsi. She said«that deal is only for certain pizzas», I said thats fine I want the large pepperoni. I ordered my side and she says«anything else», I say«no thanks», then«CLICK». Not even a thanks, it will be ready in __minutes, nothing, just got hung up on. This made me almost not even go in to get the pizza but we were hungry. So I waited 20 min thinking that’s enough time and went in. Handed the cashier the coupon and she told me she can’t give me that deal. Apparently I didn’t order the right pizza. The pizza for the meal deal had less pepperonis on it. I said«that’s nice, I told the girl on the phone I had this coupon». I also explained being hung up on and her attitude. The cashier said she can’t give me this pizza and wanted to remake one with less pepperonis on it. Are you joking?! This pizza is already made and now you want to make me wait longer to make another pizza with less pepperonis. I explained that I want this pizza that is made, my side, and the Pepsi like the coupon says for the $ 10, and if you can’t do that then were leaving. The cashier said she can’t, and I left. I can promise you, my friends, family, and I will never be back to this location again. It is ridiculous that the girl on the phone didn’t pay attention, hung up on me, and you didn’t want to honor my coupon because it had too many pepperonis.

Dear Papa Murphy’s Alameda, I used to come to this location all the time. We would tell my very frugal mother that your pizzas were 50% less than others because we would bake it ourselves at home.(50% less might have been a stretch but it made her feel good that she passed on her frugality to us) I know that with time comes inflation and while your pizzas are still affordable, the value has steadily decreased throughout the years. Toppings weren’t nearly as plentiful anymore(is there a sausage or pepperoni shortage in the world?) One day, I needed to bring PM pizzas to my nephew’s soccer party and I decided to go to the PM location closest to their house in San Leandro. The toppings at that location were loaded to the edge of the crust. It looked like a completely different pizza than the ones I’d get from you. So, I am jumping to the conclusion that you’re just a cheap-ass and being awfully stingy with the toppings.(that comment must be heart breaking since its from a Chinese guy with a very frugal mother) Dare to prove me wrong?

I’m an old hand at Papa Murphy’s – we had them all over the place up in Portland. This is first time here at the California version, and I doubt I’ll be back – and I haven’t even seen my pizza yet. I have been standing I a short line for 15 minutes. And now I am waiting another 10 – at least for my pizza. They’re not that busy, and there’s more people working here than in two PMs in Portland. They’re just slow, and chatting with one another and selling pizzas to other employees while customers wait. So while I haven’t had any pizza yet, I’m thinking I can do better.
