My experiences at this store are similar to what others have posted. Generally I avoid ever going into this store, but they are the only place on Webster that carries a few particular beverages that I would otherwise have to drive across town for, so I added a star. Their prices are high, even considering the usual corner-store markup. Also, the prices are inconsistent depending on who is working there. If the item doesn’t have a price tag and you ask how much it costs, one employee might say«$ 2.50,» and then later that week, a different employee says«$ 4.19.» I get the impression that if they think you look like someone with lots of money, or someone who isn’t paying attention, they will attempt to charge you the absolute highest price they can get away with. As others have said, the customer service is generally awful, unless the older asian man is working. He’s nice and a good businessman, whereas the others seem to hate their job, hate any customers, and hate life in general. I avoid going in there when the young woman is working. If you need a convenience store on Webster, I’d recommend the one down on the corner of Webster and Central, just past the dive bar. They’re friendly and have better prices. Also, there’s a dollar store across the street that doesn’t sell liquor, but has better prices on food, beverages, and also sells the cigarettes/lotto tickets, if that’s what you’re in to. On the other end of Webster, «Better Buy Liquors» on Buena Vista is friendly, has a decent selection of beverages, and isn’t quite as overpriced as Santos.

Heavily priced items. However, liquor, some drinks cigarettes are very affordable for what’s around. I believe it is family owned. I admit I will only step in if you see an older asian gentleman. He’s a nice man. Open to small talks. Anyone else has seem to hate there life and want to leave. But the husband/dad is a great guy. They have everyday items: tissue, sugar, and cereal.(Pricey, but if your in need…) Still my local favorite only if the older guy is worker. Credit: $ 10 minimum Debit: 0.50 cent surcharge.

I grew up on the west side of Alameda and have been buying from this store since high school(1978). The gentlemen that work here are awesome, they always speak to me in Korean and joke around with me and even let me return/swap out some kitty food my cats didn’t like. I totally would have given Santos 5 stars if it wasn’t for the daughter/woman that is there sometimes. I am a friendly upbeat, chatty person and all I got with her was a cold ice wall and attitude for no apparent reason. I understand a person having a bad day, but she’s this way daily. Her personality is such a downer I now walk to the other corner store(which is farther from my house) to buy stuff when I see she is working! If you treat customers like they annoy you. eventually they will get the hint and never return!

Santos liquors is a small convenience store with small aisles, not much room to move around. didn’t stay long. afraid i might knock something over. the usual inventory of sodas, unpriced beers, priced wines, and pricey convenience foods.(campbell’s chucky soup=3ish) buys: quac tortilla chips, shrimp chips)1.49) –didn’t taste any quac, tasted the msg in the shrimp chips.

The heavy set lady at the counter is one of the rudest I have ever come across. I feel like I am an intruder asking to buy a few lotto tickets. My family owned a liquor store for 20 years and that’s not how you treat customers period. If you don’t like your job find something else.

This place has your typical selection of hard liquor and beer and a good selection of wine for a corner liquor store. There prices are typical of marked up liquor store prices. I was going to buy milk as well and noticed it was 10 days past the expiration date. I mentioned it to you the clerk and he just shrugged his shoulders. Considering there are 3 other liquor stores in this area on Webster, I’d look elsewhere.

My husband and I have been coming into this store for quite a while. Sunny(young lady behind the counter) can be a little grumpy at times, but overall she’s cool and will speak. This liquor store is where my husband stops in to get his usual«brewsky», and occasionally milk, bread, chips and them damn«stinkin ciggies»(friggin cancerous sticks). Old habits die hard and I guess hubby just can’t seem to quit. Santos is close to my home and it’s convenient to get one or two things there before I head home after work. It’s about a 12 minutes walk from store to home, so I am getting a little exercise. I saw an Oakland Raiders cap in my favorite color(purple) last week while we were in the store and that cap had my name written all over it… lol, but I couldn’t get it because I was short on funds. Earlier this evening, and wow to my surprise, my husband went ahead and got me the cap even though he’s a niners fan. Perfect for football season and hopefully my daughter doesn’t snag that cap off of my head, and it goes well with my purple and gold backpack.

THEYGOTRACER! Any non bev mo liquor store that carries Bear Republic’s «Racer 5» IPA is A-OK in my book. Grabbed burgers at Nations, across the street, and while there decided that we needed to pick up a six pack of racer 5, assuming such a non descript liquor store wouldn’t carry something that microbrew-y we were pleasantly surprised :)

Santos Liquors is a fully stocked liquor store at the end of Webster Street. It beats trekking all the way to Bev Mo in Oakland for so many entertaining emergencies. I haven’t ran any price checks. It doesn’t matter! At least it’s here. I dig the cute little girl printed on the side of the building! ***Stars withheld because Santos reeked of a foreign odor on the morning of my visit.

We came here in search of a beer to bring into Lucky Ju Ju to enjoy between pinball games«in the back room only», of course! They had a 20 oz. bottle of Bison’s Belgian Ale. The woman at the counter didn’t know how much it was so she picked up her white cordless phone and called a friend. I have no idea where this person was she was calling but in half Korean(I think) and half English she explained to the person on the other end which beer it was we were trying to purchase. The catch was she only said a single bottle, never explaining that it was the BIG bottle, not an orphan from a six pack. So we walked out of there with 20 oz of a great beer for only $ 2.15. What a bargain!
