We have been coming here more lately: tasty sushi, fast service and a good price. The Y2K Roll is our new favorite. They’ve been very reliable on quality and have a good sized menu for a small place. They are a small business and I notice they close around certain holidays – would be good to have the info on the answering machine. Otherwise, we are big fans!

Good product, but they close at 7:45, not 8. Tonight at 7:45, they told me they were out of rice. Seriously? Yes. Kind of stupid, really.

Since last year they have stopped selling ramen here, but still highly recommend this place for good, quality sushi rolls at a good price.

Their cherry blossom wasn’t made with salmon but the fake crab(yuck). Our pickup order wasn’t correct either. We ordered two orders of Salmon Nigri and they gave us a Salmon roll. No room for error since we ordered on Eat24.

Just had the Sake Nigiri(salmon over rice). My two criteria, is it fresh and does it taste good, yes and yes. And the price is good. So next time I’ll try a roll. Yes, it’s a sushi bar with only 4 seats but if you just turn around there’s more seating.

I can’t believe the number of whiners about this place. «They didn’t smile and dance for me! Waaaaaa.» You can tell from my history I don’t give 5-stars lightly, but this place is spot-on. Yes, there are other places to go when I want ambiance or absolutely top notch high-end sushi, and pay double. This is not that kind of place, it’s a small sushi stand with great prices and fresh fish. The redwood roll and the teka maki are excellent. The salmon is fresh and not slimy. I haven’t tried the eel yet, but am looking forward to it. The portions are huge — one roll is enough to fill you up. Any place you can get a roll in norcal for under $ 8 that is BIG and fresh made with quality ingedients, you jump on it. The service CAN be spotty, mostly because the sushi chefs don’t speak much English and rely on the cashier to translate. No beer, no sake, no frills. Just good quality sushi at rock bottom prices. Go elsewhere and be pampered; leave the seats at Sushi King open for me.

Chirashi costs about $ 10, and has pretty good quality sashimi, hard to beat!

I literally just get the damn chirashi bowl. All. The. Time. :) Only minus is that they do not have a to-go menu. However, I stopped by yesterday afternoon around 5pm only to see the place closed. Are they closed on Thursdays? Are they gone? I am concerned.

Solid sushi and rolls at a reasonable price. Everything is made to order with great ingredients. The food here is equivalent quality to several sushi restaurants on the island. The location is really convenient. The staff always helpful and friendly. Great no frills sushi place.

I’ve lived in major cities for 10+ year, been to countless«top notch» Sushi place around the world and the US and I can’t tell you how lucky I am to have this place 10 minutes from my house. Great little crew running this place, dependable, make changes upon request and just fast.

I dined here today with some friends, and it’s very mediocre. I’d give this place a C+. The staff are nice, place needs a bit of updating, the price is good, but the sashimi… well…it was a very generous size per piece… and I think that’s the problem. Each piece was 1.5 centimeters too thick… and it made it linger in my mouth, because I had to chew for a longer period of time, this made eating sashimi a lot less enjoyable. But again, the price is right. 12 very very 1.5 centimeter thick sashimi pieces for only $ 16.95. We also had the rainbow roll, bonzai roll and a pizza roll… which was interesting… not a favorite though. I felt like I was eating a small pizza with rice on it. Maybe that was what they were going for; fusion not at its best. The rolls were also not wrapped well. It was very loose.

Great place to get sushi close to home. I love the friendly staff, the owner is ALWAYS there and very friendly. I have only got food to go and they are great at getting everything to me fast, fresh and on my way. I have enjoyed everything I got from this place but LOVE the Lion King roll!

If you want be served like a jail prisoner it’s your lucky day, you found the right place for you! Be happy and gratefull if they will answer you with more than one gesture or if they will give you the honor of looking at your face. The last time they served me the sushi in a plastic to go box, when I said that I was sitting at the bar to eat the sushi– in a plate and with a glass of water– one of them just answered with«you can eat in the box». I just gave them their damn money and went away. I am not the first customer that complained about their behavior, I hope that this review, in addition with the others will drop down their business because they need a big lesson of kindness and respect. Of course If you are looking for good shushi that is not the right place. Their sushi deserves just a visit to realize that there are better places like Kamakura, another level of service and quality at almost the same price.

Sushi King is the sushi place located right within the Alameda marketplace. Is it really the king of sushi though? Ehh debatable. I pretty much only got one roll here, which was the World Class roll, so take my review with that knowledge in mind. As per usual, I’m a sucker for anything with garlic in it, so I leaped at the chance to try a sushi roll with some garlic in it. Anyways, I didn’t really taste any in the World Class roll. It tasted good for what it was, but oh wells. Also, the size of the individual sushi pieces was pretty big. Like I can’t handle so much in my mouth I ain’t down to deep throat some sushi rolls now. Anyways, it’s a pretty nice place for some quick sushi rolls if you’re in the area, like if you’re doing some shopping at the marketplace. Otherwise, I’d pass on it.

This was my fist time. I love udon & sushi and their prices were very reasonable. They were very kind people. Unfortunately, the sushi was warm. & there was hair in my udon. Won’t be going there again!

Here’s a tip: Order the maguro wakame and you won’t regret it. It’s pieces of tuna mixed with their special spices mixed with seaweed salad. You know the saying«it tastes like heAven on a spoon»? Well, this is what heaven on a pair of chopsticks tastes like. If you’ve ever had Sushi King’s maguro wakame, you’ll know what I mean. Sometimes, they’ll have it ready to go in the fridge. If not, they’re happy to make it for you. Try to be patient if you have to wait for your sushi, it takes time to create perfection. I love Sushi King’s maguro wakame, I may love it more than my car. Ok, just kidding, nothing can come between my car & I, but Sushi King’s maguro wakame is definitely on my list of top 5 fave foods!

This place is a disaster. Spicy tuna is a Siracha mess. Second they use the wakame with food coloring and msg. Not cool. Third they commit the fatal tempura sin. There is a big ol pile of prefried shrimp. This means it is cold and soggy when they roll it not hot and crunchy. This defeats the whole point of tempura in sushi. Everywhere is doing this now and it marks the great decline of tempura rolls. Very sad. I knew better but came bc it is the only sushi spot on the island open between lunch and dinner. The service was good. That is why they get 2 stars not 1. Go to yellowtail bistro at lunch. They get it right, except they do commit tempura sins at dinner.

Pretty decent sushi for a cheap place. I absolutely love their sunset roll and swamp roll. Their service was good. Its much more of a take out place. They have a bar area that can seat 4 people. My friend and I ordered the island roll, swamp roll, sunset, pink dragon and the spicy crunch crab for $ 40! Ill be coming back for more sushi fo sure.

One of my favorite to-go sushi places! I probably order from here at least twice a month. Located inside the Alameda Marketplace with ample free parking outside. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, wide selection of rolls, fresh ingredients. Tip: Call in your order if you don’t want to wait. Otherwise you might sit around for 20+min(which isn’t too bad though as long as you are not in a rush!) twiddling your thumbs.

Reasonably priced fresh sushi! The chirashi bowl is only $ 10 and all the seafood were very fresh. They even include squid and octopus! This place is small and mostly a to-go place. They only have 4 seats. Service is fast and friendly.
