Great coffee, great food. I recommend the Breakfast Panini.

The owner of the Beanery is great! He’s super friendly! The banana bread was great! The service is much better than Starbucks! Trust me! They also have a lot of options to choose from. I love this place.

I’ve been here a few times and found that the early A.M. is the best time to come in for a quick bite(Breakfast Panini ;-))and a ice coffee. Price isn’t to bad considering the food is actually pretty good. Their coffee isn’t no Peet’s L0L but it’s better then Starbucks and cheaper too.

Excellent place to get a cup of coffee, have a meeting, get work done. Local spot, alot of regular customers and the staff are lovely. Spend your money here, it’s worth it.

Tired of big chains? Come here. Four stores: 1650 Park St. Alameda, 2925 College Ave Berkeley and two in SF: 13079th ave and 602 Irving St. Ambiance: Visually interesting table tops of coffee beans through glass. Tall open ceiling in a chic infustrial space. Big windows, lots of light. I’m looking out the window toward McGees to see the type of people who drink at 5pm on Sunday(also happens to be mothers day). Clientele: Young people some on laptops and health conscious crowds who always remember to bring their reusable bags to the specialty market next door. Food/drink: Large selection of pasteries. Everything is great. Only one dark roast drip coffee available at the moment. Brown sugar and honey or agave? not sure didnt use it and half and half available. Remember to grab a token from the register for the bathroom if you know that coffee goes right through you.

There will be no quippy intro to this review today boys and girls, so prepare yourself for a rapid fire-ish read: Mochas are really a tricky beverage to master. They require a delicate balance of an espresso bite while incorporating just slightly more than a hint of chocolate undertones . If properly done, these flavors will swirl around your palette and reward you with a rather invigorating semi sweetened caffeine jolt. If not, one component ultimately overwhelms the other(but you still might get caffeinated). Mochas gets even trickier when served cold. Although the ice adds a nice layer of refreshment(and a delayed but awesome coffee buzz), it mutes the flavors. Therefore, you can imagine my delight with The Beanery’s iced mocha. Somehow it magically retains the distinct flavors of espresso and chocolate while being served at a delightfully cool temperature. So super good. That’s all. Dan B. out.

We really miss this place when we are out of state. In the Eastbay this is our all time favorite, the dark roasted coffee is the best. A place where a lot of regulars have been coming since they opened. Friends don’t let friends drink Starbucks.

I’d give this place 6 stars if it was possible! The owners make you feel at home, the vibe of the place is very friendly and relaxing, and they serve the BEST coffee in Alameda.

Needed a space to work so I looked for small cafes I haven tried and came to this place. I tried their Mayan Mocha. It wasn’t anything extraordinary. It was ok. They pretty much just sprinkled the spice on top with chocolate powder. I’ve definitely had better. I also ordered a bagel with jam which was a little more on the crunchier side than I would’ve liked. The seating was pretty limited as the little café is part of a bigger marketplace(I was unaware of that when I chose to visit). If you’re going here to work, good luck to you. Outlets are only on one side of the café with about 5 or so small tables available.

RAVE. After hitting the freeway to drive to Starbucks, parking, walking through the tar tundra, I FLED after waiting 3 people into the line because they were moving So. Damn. Grandma. Slow. And boy am I glad that I did! Because my distress ended up in a quick Unilocaling that landed me here at The Beanery. Delicious iced almond milk lattes, great espresso, and pastries for days and days. I also got the chicken plate which I found delightful. Mmmm-growl-roar-hiss-meow!!! In that order.

After being told that an overpriced breakfast sandwich at Kefa would take 30 min, I decided to come to the beanery for continued disappointment. I got a passable au lait and a deluxe egg sandwich with ham on ab everything bagel. The egg, which was more like previously cooked egg product was lukewarm if not cold in some parts. The Swiss«cheese» was probably Kraft singles Swiss. The ham was okay. The everything bagel atrocious. Overpriced and underwhelming. It is, however, conveniently located with easy parking.

3 words — California Veggie Panini! It’s one of the best I’ve ever had. EDIT: I also recently tried their delicious iced chai and it’s a must have!

The best turkey avocado sandwich on a soft roll. And the breakfast sandwiches on a baguette are wonderful heated up.

The beanery is my go to spot whenever I need to get some work done. The coffee is good, the food is decent, and if you’re in the mood for something else, you have all of Alameda Marketplace just a few steps away. If you come during busy hours, the staff is a lot less attentive, but that’s understandable since they have a lot going on. It was kind of annoying since it took 5 minutes to get a cup of water, but it is what it is. When it’s less busy, everyone is extremely nice and helpful! Overall, the coffee is good, but once in a while there are some drinks that are hit or miss. I do not recommend getting the peppermint bark mocha. It was so sweet that it hurt my throat, but since the line was so long I couldn’t really say anything. But when I asked for water, it took five minutes. BUT despite this one bad drink, I still love this place. Being a popular coffee shop, the environment is a lot more hectic than your typical chill coffee shop. There are tons of people going in and out all the time. Also, random but their tables are really cute. They’re filled with coffee beans haha. Also, side note, the last time i was there, the owner said he was upgrading the wifi! It’s already pretty fast, so I can only imagine how good it is now! I recommend the tea lattes and the petit egg sandwich~

Stopped by The Beanery this morning as my wife and I had just a little extra time before heading to work. She ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and some sort of latte; I just asked for a turkey and cheddar, warmed. Figured we would be in and out in under 5 minutes as we were the third ones in line and requested it to go. Sadly, we waited for at least 10 minutes before our orders were prepped. Not only that but my wife’s bagel was burnt. Initially thought it was a chocolate bagel but soon realized there was no such thing on the menu. We frequent a lot of local businesses in Alameda and our two past visits here have been somewhat ok. We don’t sugarcoat our reviews and unfortunately, The Beanery flopped today. Unsure if we’ll be heading here again.

I’ve been trying to find a good coffee and breakfast place in Alameda and this is it. I had the petit egg sandwich and I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture. The coffee is good. The barista knows his stuff so that a caffe latte is a caffe latte and a cappuccino is a real cappuccino: not a glorified latte. I wish I could come here more often but I am happy I finally found it. The old dudes sitting here definitely know their stuff.

The Beanery is an independent coffee house located inside the Alameda Marketplace on Park Street. The best parking strategy is to park within the Marketplace lot, immediately south of the Beanery, off Park. With two entrances, both from within the Marketplace and from Park St, their hours can start before the Marketplace is open. However, they close at 7PM. The Beanery sells its own coffee beans, with the roaster right within the store. Quite a variety of options: coffee and other hot drinks, espresso, iced coffees, frapes, smoothies, breakfast items, hot/cold sandwiches — even a spicy chicken plate! I had the Iced Carmel Frape, and it was deelicious! My wife loved the Pear Almond Bar pastry. Very nice seating area, with well spaced tables — it was fairly empty when we were there on a mid-Sunday afternoon, but it sounds like it can be quite hectic at peak times. I liked the clever glass-covered coffee beans tables, quite creative. A good place in Alameda for that coffee stop.

The Vietnamese Iced Coffee is AMAZINGGGG! It gets me so wired for work. My coworkers have no idea what to do with me. I recommend the BLT on white with cheddar too. The mixed greens and tomatoes are usually in good proportion with the bacon. Sometimes you go places and people make them with too much bacon… I also add gingerbread flavor to my lattes when I’m missing the holiday season. :)

I like The Beanery because: 1. It has Yerba Mate and many of it’s variations 2. 2.70mb/s of data upload speed. 3. The eateries and grocery market has some good grub in the same building.

Ordered an iced cappuccino using my indie coffee passport and it was so yum! I loved how frothy the drink was even though it was iced. I’ll definitely be back!
