Had dinner while watching both the Sharks and the Giants — great local place to watch sports. Surprised they only had 4 – 5 beers on tap, but we were happy with tall 20oz glasses of the Firestone 805 and Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Both had the Alamo Grill burger, good flavor with grilled onions, bacon and very peppery jack cheese on it. Served with bbq sauce, ketchup, lettuce and tomato on the side. Ordered one medium rare and one medium, both came out medium. Enjoyed the burger, wished it was a little bigger patty for $ 12.99, but was served with a large portion of crispy thin-cut fries. Shared the brussel sprout salad which was very good, sauteed in balsamic with bacon, egg and blue cheese crumbles on top. Service was very friendly and attentive, a young staff but they were working hard with good attitude. We will definitely be back to watch sports and try some other menu options.

I had such high hopes for this place. Good: Service was attentive and friendly. Remodel is very cool and comfortable. Marshmallow dip… but I like anything marshmallow. Sweet Potato chips were very soggy and limp. Need to be fried in hotter oil I think. Maybe add a little sea salt. LOVE the huge open kitchen. So much could be done in there. Bad: Food was just very average. Chicken had a weird texture, definitely not quality chicken. Potatoes need to be crispier. They were just boring. Vegetables had good flavor and were cooked well, but again, just average. Oh the cool things and good food that could be done with this space.

The service was really slow, I asked for Parmesan when I got my pizza and I got it when I was done with it. We spilled something on our table and no one even noticed. I really want to like this place but the food is over priced. The people we’re very nice and it is a cool place but they need to work on service.

I was on my own for dinner so I thought I’d try this place. I sat at the bar which has several TV’s each tuned to a different sport. I ordered a Bombay Sapphire martini, extra dry, barely stirred and got a watery martini. Oops. The fish and chips called to me. Good fries. The fish batter was soggy and tough, although the fish was OK. Oops again. Good service. Mediocre food at best.

My husband and I stopped in on a Friday night while waiting to pick up our daughter from a high school basketball game. It is definitely a sports bar, but the food is amazing and the drinks are well crafted. We had the seared ahi, shrimp tower and the Brussels sprouts salad. All were great. The sidecar was yummy, my husband says, as was my Frank Family Chardonnay. We will return.

Getting better but please, frozen veggies? Really? My broccoli and carrots were clearly frozen and on top of that soggy. We live in CA not Ohio 1950. Fresh properly cooked food would be appreciated!

Needed a Friday night traffic break after hitting the road unwittingly on a 3 day ski weekend. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised by excellent service. The food portions were generous and the owner/manager came by to ensure we were having a fabulous Friday night. We hadn’t been on south bay freeways. However, our moods quickly changed after a wonderful dinner and an adult beverage. Ready to make our way home after 7:30PM, hoping the highways have cleared a bit. We will be back!!!

What a wasted opportunity to bring a decent REALFOOD restaurant to Alamo A REALFOOD restaurant that would serve grassfed meat and organic vegetable to there patrons rather than there crap they serve. I had the drunkin salmon, I knew it was farm raised but thought well it should be okay. It was awful no flavor and they call that brown rice they served with it. That was not brown rice it was some uncle bens brown crap. The vegetable were over cooked too. I couldn’t eat it and when she came to take it. I told her I wouldn’t eat it and offer it to my husband he said no. I could see her take my plate to someone in the back. Oh well We won’t be going back because of the poor quality of food they serve. Not much better than you would get at Denny’s I will admit I am a food snob. I very picky about what I put into my body and will pay extra to have organic and Grassfed. They can kill others one bite at a time, but not me or my man.

I have to admit that I am a little surprised with the less-than-5-star reviews, because I have been to Alamo Grill more times than I should admit and I love the place! The food is solid, the staff is great and the service gets better with each visit. I’m pretty partial to the Alamo Burger, but I most recently went for the Famous Ribs with the Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce. Damn, were they good! I highly recommend either one, you won’t be disappointed. My wife swears by the Southwestern Salad. Next on the hit list is the California Wedge Salad and the Fish Tacos. I feel the Alamo Grill is a great choice if you want something quick. The menu is eclectic enough to satisfy most all diners, and while I’m not a drinker, friends I dine with say the bar is legit. Hats off to General Manager Mark Morecraft and Bar Manager Mark Ryan for bringing a great eatery to the area.

Cool ambience. Had the Prime Rib special. A little bland. Service was ok even though the wait was a little longer than I expected.

Okay — so this is 3.5 stars. I love this place, the rehab, the staff. Let’s break it down. The Great(yeah upgraded from good): The frigging drinks — even without happy hour they are a deal. $ 9 cocktails in the upper escelon of the east bay — some places happy hour don’t even offer drinks that good and they are strong and well made. During happy hour they become $ 7… who’s drunk on a tuesday hahaha. The Good The staff is great — well the bartenders are great. Only sit at the bar, some bussers are lost a$s humans but overall the staff is amazing. The nachoes — hands down best item on the menu, solid nachoes The Okay The flatbread — standard Ahi — over priced for the portion The prices — cheap drinks; overly priced food(hence lack of 2 stars but drinks were 6 stars so life makes sense)

This was my first time in this establishment. When I first walked in I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was warmly welcomed by our server Kenny. Great service! The first thing I noticed was the live music, which made for a great atmosphere. The menu has a good variety of food, and it all sounded good. which almost made it difficult to decide on what to get. But again, our server was helpful and recommended me some great options. The food was made fairly quickly for our whole table and it all looked and tasted great. On top of having amazing service and food, they have a great selection of beer on tap, and the bartender, Mark was great. He made THE best whisky sour I’ve ever had in my life. All in all I had a good experience and I’ll gladly come back. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time, and great food. Five stars.

Food was really mediocre. Nothing to «yelp» about. Ribs were so-so. Didn’t taste fresh. We also had the grilled chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken appeared to be from the frozen aisle. Service was lacking. Our waiter seemed uninterested, or at least burned out. But uninterested, at least. I love what they did to the restaurant to open it up from the former«Izzy’s». Too bad they didn’t keep«izzy’s» menu, staff, and ambiance. Not impressed at all.

It’s about time that Alamo gets a restaurant that has a friendly ambiance that works for both happy hour and a family dining experience. Today was our second visit, and both visits were fantastic. Staff is very friendly, the head chef is very personable, and we love that they took the separating wall down in the facility for this new version of the restaurant space. Great food with a fantastic variety, small plates to salads… and a good kids menu too!(Sliced apples, broccoli, or french fries with the meal) I hope they consider doing something fun for families, maybe bring in some table games for the nights they see that are slow… because this place NEEDS to stay in Alamo. WE need a restaurant like this, and we are so happy they are here! P. S. Chef, that Horseshoe burger dish you talked about… BRINGIT! #WeAreIn!

We walked into the restaurant and loved the atmosphere! The staff was very friendly and we were seated in a short amount of time. Awesome view into the kitchen and great bar area. Cocktails: I got the Alamo heat and loved it. Minty, cool, refreshing drink. Not too strong, not too light. Food: We started with the nachos which were amazing. Lots of flavor! Then I got the iceberg salad and my husband ordered the Alamo Burger. The dressing on the salad was fabulous: a guacamole, bacon, and blue cheese dressing(unbelievable). Tasty baked tomato on the side. The burger was cooked well and had lots of flavor. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere. It’s a great place to bring your family or have drinks with friends at the bar. So happy Alamo finally has a great place to eat and drink!

I visited Alamo for their grand opening and enjoyed the experience! Cocktails: I tried one of their fizzy drinks and it was yummy! It had a good amount of fruit flavor and the champagne fizz gave it a good pop. I was impressed with their wine list too! Food: We tried their family nachos(Omg so good!!!) they’re definitely a good choice if you’re looking for an appetizer to share. We also tried the rigatoni and Mac n cheese. The rigatoni was super tasty and filling! Now if I could give a 4.5 I would — unfortunately the Mac n cheese was a little disappointing. Granted I have high values for Mac n cheese but I wished it had more cheese Service: super great! Everyone was attentive and had great positive attitudes. I would definitely come back for a happy hour — the bar area looks super legit!

As this is the very first review for Alamo Grill, and prior to it’s official grand opening, we inaugurate it with five stars. We give these stars not based on the food or service, but for all the hard work they are putting into the inside renovation. The dividing wall between the bar and dining room is gone, as is the odd check in stand where you were once greeted prior to entering the dining room. Looks like a nice attempt to open the place up and be more neighborhood friendly(versus formal). Lots of painting is going on, and other construction inside. Let’s hope for good American fare, decent happy hour prices, and maybe sound on the TV’s to watch games with other Alamo locals. Hooray for this new ownership and a change for the better!
