I bought a Trice from Steve several years ago and have come to being a recumbent fan ever since. He is always warm and caring when working on your trike. He taught me a bent is where the lawn chair meets a mountain bike. A true sage that will always steer you right in anything he sells.

In the past few months, I’ve taken an interest in trikes after attending a recent bike event. Looking at the different brands and types led me to Baytrail Trikes where Steve spent a good amount of time asking questions about what I like and helping me decide what’s best for me. Steve has clear opinions about what he likes, but he won’t share them until he’s helped you pick what’s perfect for you. Other companies charged me to test ride their trikes, but Steve spent a couple hours with me under no obligation on my part. This is one of the reasons I bought from him; he does his job for the passion of it and that’s it. After some test rides, I finally settled on an ICE Sprint RS. I special ordered it from Steve and it arrived about 2 weeks later. Since I’m an engineer and a bit picky about components, I had special ordered the gearing and a few other things about the trike. Steve was patient and continued to do what he could to help me put together the perfect trike for me. Today I picked up my trike and rode for a couple hours on the bay trail near his business. I loved the way it rode and it was great fun taking corners at speed and I even got a couple compliments on my trike already! If you’d like to get a trike and you live in the SF Bay area, I whole-heartedly recommend Baytrail Trikes!

My experience with Steve and Baytrail Trikes was excellent. I was able to ride the trike that I was interested in as well as others that he suggested I try to make sure that I selected the right one. I did actually did two test rides just to make sure it was the right choice for me. Steve is not pushy nor looking for a quick sale which is refreshing. I have purchased 3 other recumbent in the past from other shops and this is the only one that I was actually able ride before I purchased. Steve answered many questions before the sale and many more afterwards. I definealty recommend Baytrail Trikes!

If it was possible to give six stars, I would. Steve is amazing. I’m 6’10″ and fitting me to a trike was a challenge he took to heart and pulled off with incredible ability. When you have a question, he answers it quickly. Steve doesn’t upsell you on anything. He genuinely listens to your needs and makes recommendations. Today(Sunday, 12÷9÷12) I called him with a shimmy problem on my new trike. He called me right back and said he’d fix it the same day. And he did. Many businesses don’t understand the value of great service. Steve does, and if you are looking for a recumbent trike or bike(though moreso for trikes), you really need to make Bay Trail Trikes a priority to speak to.

Steve’s a really nice guy and very knowledgeable about trikes. He took my wife and I on a ride in different trikes(we scheduled a demo) and I feel he educated us quite a bit. I ultimately got an ICE Trike and have put a few hundred miles on it so far. I love it and ride it daily. I recommend Baytrail Trikes and I’m really glad they are so close!

Baytrail Trikes is one of the few Bay Area suppliers of recumbent bikes and trikes. Although Baytrail Trikes mostly sells trikes(in the name, huh?), I actually bought a recumbent bike there. They are a ICE dealer, and carry most parts and accessories, as well as trikes from RANS, Greenspeed and Sun. They were helpful, knowledgeable and patient throughout the test riding and decision making process. Also very helpful in sorting out some component problems after the sale, very good customer support! Baytrail Trikes also seem to do a lot of work with special needs/adaptive cycling. That’s pretty cool — it seems like most bike shops don’t cater to the disabled, so it’s really cool that the Bay Area has a shop specializing in this so everyone can get out and have independent mobility.
