Pursuit Bicycles

If I had a dollar for everytime I’ve gone to this bicycle shop and it was closed but the sign says «please come were open» and no one was to be found. Locked door, &it wasn’t even an odd hour of the day.(1:17)(3:05)(5:47) weekdays. I would have enough money to have another bike shop repair my bike.

Pursuit is d-​o-​p-​e. I don’t often write reviews, but Joey and his shop are above and beyond deserving one. I ordered my first big-​girl bike (State Cycles) through them, got it, and was thrilled.
Then, my bike decided to rebel. Specifically, the wheels. One set was completely faulty (with no fault of ours), and continuously popped my front and back tires. Joey patiently replaced enough wheels to make a tire fire, until we both decided that it was ridiculous.
Another set of wheels, a similar flatting situation, some new rim tape, and I was on my way. Though whining sweet nothings into the phone at Joey about my bike was my absolute favorite thing, I am pleased as punch that I’ve been able to ride without incident since we worked out the details. Without his expertise and willingness to go through all our options, I may have ended up with a very expensive garage adornment.
Basically, the shop is rad, it looks sick, he’s got a wide variety of frames for all types of (mostly) single/​fixed/​track riders, is super helpful, and is very cool. If you need a bike, you should buy it from him. Don’t need a bike? You should consider buying a bike. From Pursuit. Duh.

Eating out so much ive gotten huge in the middle. And Damn u crispy kreme!. I look like im 3months pregnant (im a man). I think my gf purposely cooks fatty meals to chunk me up and beat my self esteem. Maybe im noid. Tmi? Or nah? Jk lol
Time to do something. Time to stop being a talker. Came here to get a bicycle and get my friggin swole on. They got me going with a champions setup for a good deal and gave me some advice on good biking roads. An extra star for being near bevmo :)

tl;dr Pursuit is a fantastic LBS with some of the best price/​quality ratio for wrenching that I’ve seen in the Bay. Go here and try it out!
Longer Version: I finally visited Pursuit after riding by it every day for almost a month after it opened. Although this shop seemed more geared (pun intended) towards track bikes, my inner roadie was easily fulfilled with the large array of less-​common bikes and some pretty sweet vintage parts as well. Make no mistake, this is not a Performance Bicycle or somewhere you take your mom to pick up a new beach-​cruiser – This is for the serious track or road cycle enthusiast who is looking for something unique in a bike or a bike shop and willing to pay a bit of a premium for it.
I will continue to update this review as I have more experience with Pursuit but so far I brought my MTB in to the shop for a shock tune. They took the bike immediately, finished on time, and WAY under-​budget with a fantastic outcome. Definitely worth checking out.
Bottom Line: Drop by, grab some coffee, a tube, or a t-​shirt and talk about your plans for building your dream bike!

My favorite bike shop. Super friendly. They focus on track and vintage machines, but they can order whatever you need. Also, there are some gorgeous bikes on display. Stop in and admire them.

New bike shop! Friendly guy and cool bikes. They specialize in track bikes and vintage track bikes. They have several track frames, some parts, a service department, and a decent selection of quality road bikes, with expectations for increased inventory soon. Gonna buy a Cinelli frame from him sooner or later.
