Eh, just ok for me. I had really high expectations going in after hearing rave reviews from my sister, but I wasn’t really impressed. Visited over the weekend on the way home from a bar(and no I was not drunk, but I was hungry!). Upon walking in, you can immediately tell this is a hangout for college kids who just got done partying at the Uptown bars. I’ll attribute that to the fact that I visited around 1am, so there may be a different crowd during the day. The menu is pretty extensive with every combination of fried foods you can imagine. Don’t bother going here looking for a salad. I wasn’t starving, but I wanted to try to famous chicken nuggets I’d heard so much about. So, I got the baby special I think it was called, which was ¼ pound of chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink. You also get to select two sauces with the special. I opted for the«X-tasy» fries which was just fries topped with bacon, cheddar, and ranch. My order came to just under $ 10, which I thought was a little bit steep, but I figured I would be getting a decent amount of good quality chicken so I didn’t mind. When I opened my order to eat it, I was disappointed that I only got 4 chicken nuggets, and the amount of fries I got was not very plentiful either. The nuggets were good, definitely better than any fast food nuggets you will get. I just wish there were more. The fries were just ok — nothing to write home about. I will definitely return if I’m in the area, and craving some fried deliciousness. But I’ll probably opt for something different.

This place is good for when your drunk and think anything tastes good. Or if your broke. The prices are geared towards college students. Also the store is mostly run by young people who are forgetful and rude on the telephone. Multiple times have they messed up our orders. They say they deliver late but it you call after midnight they normally decline the delivery option. Then you just call Madison’s pizza they’re always delivering to said time

Accept it for what it is, ridiculous college grub. Under the influence and hungry? This is the place to call

Oh yeah. Sometimes you just have to give into the college student that’s buried deep inside us all, and say consequences be damned. Take fried chicken, top it with fried mozzarella sticks, and then shove some french fries in a roll for good measure. Why not? Well, of course, you know why not. These days you’re far too sensible to engage in anything so over-the-top. But you didn’t used to be. You used to be young and carefree. Let’s top that burger with cheese. And bacon. And an egg. And ranch dressing. Actually, the ranch-dressing is a dealbreaker for me, and Chicken Joe’s seems to delight in its sweet and creamy presence upon much of their menu. But they are also perfectly willing to make substitutions for blue cheese, so I won’t hold it against them. These phantasmagorical sandwiches are next on my list. But before I would allow myself to submit to the guilt and shame of indulging in such monstrosities, I had to feel comfortable that the basics would make the effort worthwhile. So on my maiden voyage, I simply tried their chicken nuggets and fries. As it turns out, they are totally solid. Solid chunks of breast meat are coated in a thin but crisp breading. The meat is surprisingly juicy for a part of the chicken that tends to dry out, especially when not encased by it’s protective layer of skin and fat. And the seasoned fries are tasty, but because they too are coated, the flavor is more of the oil than the potato. Still, that’s of no matter. We’re here for the fried. Just so long as whatever lies beneath isn’t actively unpleasant, I say it’s full steam ahead. One note of warning. Stay away from the sweet and sour dipping sauce. It’s vapid. There’s no sweet. There’s no sour. It’s just really a thick orange goo, as unworthy of the panoply of deep fried treats as the dreaded ranch dressing.

I just recently found this place while scanning around for something inexpensive and close to work. I wound up ordering the x-tasty fries and the Cali Swag wrap. Both were DELICIOUS. I really don’t know what it is about the combination of onion, ranch and bacon bits all put together, but it makes my mouth water(in the good way!) Also, when it comes to delivery time… the site was telling me that they would be here between 45 – 60 minutes. Low and behold! They made it to my office within a half hour of placing my order! Which is fantastic because when I wind up ordering food, I wait until the last minute and I’m about ready to chew my hand off. Thumbs up to Chicken Joes!

If you’re looking for a quick chicken stop(or delivery, how they do plenty of business), the top local option in my eyes. Hours are fit for the surrounding college crowd — although I’ve had a couple iffy late night experiences there, prefer the quality I’ve got from there during the day. Just grabbed lunch from here. Kept it simple, 2 piece & fries, and it was certainly worth it. The optional seasoning is a great touch, and the chicken is cooked through but not dry in the least bit. You can go simple there and enjoy it, and their more interesting sub choices are great too. I’m sure many reviewers have mentioned The Heaven, which seems to be the hit. All-in-all, a great stop for the price!

The chicken had an odd taste and texture to it, it didn’t taste fresh. I possibly had a bad batch.

College student lifesaver ! It has only been a week or so into school and I know I’ll be ordering from Chicken Joe’s many more times this coming year. I love their estascy fries and the breakfast fries dammmn soo good. On top of the great food, it is affordable. I’m soo glad there is a place that students can go to when they need a break«studying» hard for exams or doing homework. Thanks Chicken Joe’s for being mvp(:!

I’ve never been here, and only ordered their delivery! The hours are perfectly designed for the college/studying student as late night snacks. Certain items on their menu also cater to specific extracurricular social activities … if you know what I mean. I ordered the buffalo wings and cheesy/X-tasy fries. The wings are pretty well done, and they provide generous sauces as well as well-buffed meats. It definitely filed me up and satisfied my late night cravings! The cheesy fries were well done, and the sizes were perfectly cut. I also tried the X-stasy fries that have bacon, cheese, and no ranch dressing. It was super yummy, and they didn’t skimp on the fries at all! They delivered in a quick manner, and I had no complaints.

Stopped here late at night after a night out. We actually had to stop in here to hide out from two men who were stalking us. The staff was very friendly about us hiding out in the establishment even though we only bought one chicken wing. They even gave us a free heaven sub that somebody never came to pick up at the end of the night! Definitely good late night drunk but be careful in that area ladies.

The food is perfect for when you want to eat as unhealthily as possible(I mean really, it IS a fried chicken joint that serves sandwiches that rival the grease trucks found around Rutgers University). I ordered online for pickup, and got there in time for them to give me my meal. When they reviewed my order(right before giving it to me), they realized they had added an ingredient that I had specifically requested they remove. The manager was sincerely apologetic and came down hard on his employees for not making it correctly. He then gave me an extra order of their sweet bread, on the house. This type of service was appreciated. I recommend this place!

Went in and wanted to order 4 fried chicken pieces, and we were told they only had three available. We explained that we would like four fresh pieces, not ones that were sitting in the window for hours. It would be a 10 – 15 minute wait, they said. More than Half an hour later they were finally ready with no salt or flavor– we had opted out of the mysterious«seasoning» because after asking what it wasgtasted like, the cashier could only say it was«seasoning». The chicken was good and juicy on the inside, so greasy though. The room is full of obnoxious, loud groups of possibly drunk young adults, bad music and hot and stuffy. The whole experience was a hassle for plain Jane food.

I rarely bash a place but this place was terrible. The chicken was bland and takes, plus way to greasy, and I LOVE fried chicken. I also ordered Fried pickles, which again, were bland, and not nearly crispy enough. It also took FOREVER for my food to arrive. I tried this place because I was Told it is the best fried chicken in Albany. If that’s the case, I’m in big trouble.

Honestly, the best, crisp sandwich I’ve had. Better than a lot of places I’ve tried. I got ecstasy fries, cali swag, and something along the lines of heaven. I was happy I saved half of my sub for when I got the drunk munchies, best drunk munchies I’ve ever experienced. Thanks, Chicken Joe’s.

I LOVECHICKENJOES. I don’t care what anyone says this place is soooooo good. The chicken is so amazing its actual CHICKEN nuggets, not crap nuggets like mcdonalds or these nasty pizza spots around here. The fries are to die for with the seasoning. Im obsessed guilty pleasure. I love the high school special with bbq and honey mustard OMG its one of the best things I’ve put in my mouth. The mac and cheese bites are so good. Everything I’ve ever had from here has been top quality. I havent been in a while because the hours fluctuate and I have a hard time keeping up lol. I’m a local, so the hours kind of stink when school isn’t in session, they should stay open later. Also, if you’re trying to eat healthy don’t come here… itll be torture looking at the menu. If you want to eat cardboard with cheese on it, sure go around the corner to madisons pizza and get hit on by the creepy owner, but if you want real delicious food go to chicken joes!

CHICKENJOE’S ISFREAKINGAWESOME! I recommend going in and ordering/pick up opposed to ordering and getting delivery. The delivery does take quite a while. I haven’t tried everything on the menu, but I have tried a decent amount of foods. My go to order is bacon egg and cheese fries(x-tasy fries are great as well), and boneless buffalo wings. Some of the best food in Albany.
