So excited to see a small new place like this open up in what’s been mostly«uncharted territory» for me in Albany. It’s a tough rating because I love the idea of it, but at the end of the day– the fri-yo is just like any other fro-yo spot. While there’s nothing particularly outstanding about the product the place has quite a bit of character which makes this really a 3.5* inching towards 3.75* spot. As you walk in you’re immediately blinded by the neon-ness of it all, but the way it’s juxtaposed with its surroundings, is like an oasis in a small dessert. We were greeted by a mother daughter pair who were very welcoming and encouraging & immediately offered us samples. Couple of highlights: Love that you can get bubble tea and smaller bites like dumplings and noodle soup. Their topping bar is fun because of the ginormous chunks of the candy bar toppings like snickers, butter fingers and peanut butter cups! The fro-yo was solid but nothing earth shattering. I had the mango which was delicious! But all the other flavors were pretty standard. They take credit cards which is a huge bonus, but be warned(which they clearly do): there is a $ 10 minimum. Even then, if you don’t make it to $ 10– don’t sweat it, there’s just a $ 0.50 fee. Not thrilled about this, but it’s tough being a new small business, so if that’s what they need to do to survive, I don’t mind paying it(much more reasonable than cash only!) Might bump it up to a 4 when I come back for bubble tea and dumplings.

This is a quaint, little Frozen Yogurt place at the intersection between Ontario and Morris street. It’s quite new, and they haven’t had their grand opening yet, but I got to try some of their bubble milk tea and frozen yogurt today. The place is a little small, but it’s pretty cozy. They have a few options for the frozen yogurt, but it’s not extensive. They offer a nice range of toppings, but I did see some not-so-fresh strawberries today. They quickly replaced them once I pointed it out, though. The bubble tea was pretty good. The pearls were freshly made, and they were definitely good quality. The milk tea could have been sweeter, but I think there probably would be some variation since they seem to make each drink personally. They also just started and don’t even have an official menu yet, so I am looking forward to much improvement in the future. They owner told me that they will be finalizing their menu soon and will also offer nomming meals when they have their grand opening. The owner and the cashier were both very friendly and nice and definitely made sure I was satisfied with my drink. I look forward to their future drinks and noms they offer! For now, it’s an okay place at an excellent location to where I live(walking distance), but hopefully I’ll be changing my star rating soon with their new and improved opening!
